      If you like rolling hoses up incorrectly this is one way.
      As soon as he grabs the end of the hose and starts walking it's going to start twisting and kinking and that's what you want to really avoid!!!
      Everybody really should learn the over under method that some people know, the navy uses it, the fire department use it and many other people and construction sites use it, etc.
      You can even leave it hooked up to the faucet and then anybody can grab the end of the hose and start walking the hose out and it will not kink or twist!

    I give you full props for wearing eye pro. I work where using chain saw chaps, eye-pro, ear-pro is seen as for newby's or woosies. MEN don't need that! Would rather show their 'scars' how they lost an eye, deaf as door knob etc. I have come to appreciate stero scopic vision and hearing without saying "Eh, what's that you say young fella?"

      Much love for pointing out stupid male tendency to self-harm! In my family, they also rather stop bicycling altogether than "unman" themselves on a so-called Lady’s bike, as soon as they can’t swing their leg over the manly sports bikes anymore.

    If you’re going to use the hose again soon, leave it attached to faucet and coil it up from faucet end in a figure of 8 pattern on ground to avoid twisting of hose. It’ll peel out without tangles when pulling from nozzle end.

    Gee, that's funny. I've seen hundreds of people roll hoses up that way which is still wrong.
    The best way is over under over under etc.
    And you can still roll it up while it's hooked up to the faucet either way!

    Okay. I thought this had no chance of working with my hose because for some unknown reason the manufacturer of my hose thought it was a good idea to coil it from two different directions, but I’m starting to see that that’s the way most come, I guess. I still don’t understand why, though. Anyway, I have tried this same thing with my hose, but I guess I wasn’t patient enough, or tried to do it with just the part that wound “the wrong way.” Well, long story a little longer, I did the whole hose that way, and it worked almost perfectly. I had to bend it a little harder in some spots, but in the end, I have a nicely wound hose. Thanks.

    This is exactly how not to roll it....lol. By twisting it like that it ends up twisted up when you unroll it. That means your always twisting it around. The over/under technique is the correct one. Sorry.

    • @chinoto1
      @chinoto1 5 років тому

      Slightly counterintuitive, but the hose will twist and kink if you don't twist the hose in the opposite direction as you coil it. When you uncoil it, you'll need to twist in reverse to avoid kinks.

  • @mehardin
    @mehardin Рік тому +1

    All those twists you put in coiling it are going to be kinks when you pull it out to use it.

    Hi, Let me know if you ever want a girly type to help to show females they can do it too...I like to change my oil and do whatever i can handle on my truck. I got tired of mechanics laziness-If 5 bolts were required to put a part on there would be 3 screws on and 2 missing or just dropped in the engine. Of course long gone are my skid plate /engine apron and the rubber that protects your engine from water spray in the fender engine area. That is my next project to do on my 1997 Toyota Tacoma. If your are in Texas let me know....~Marie
