The music was beautiful it was like Elvis was there miss Elvis his beautiful. Music and his georgous face he was and is a hunk there is only one Elvis but Austin came close if you closed your eyes you thought you were hearing Elvis in the movie Elvis saw it 3 times
@@carolewarbrittion3395 Sure thing - if you close your eyes - so you don't see the face of Austin Butler that I am so sick and tired of - he looks stupid and arrogant - so much unlike Elvis who was a beautiful man with manly features - not a wimp like this guy - and also Priscilla - what a bad actress and a bummer in this part. So going back to just listening with your eyes closed - I am glad you agree that we did really not need this movie - a record would have been just fine - or a documentary - there are so many shows even on UA-cam - like Aloha- from Hawaii and so many others - this movie did not include his best songs and they are sung by Elvis - not this bad caricature call Austin Butler
They missed Elvises best songs - like My Way and the like - so this movie was really not needed and I really could have lived without seeing it at all. It did not bring anything
that was not there before it was made. Millions of dollars wasted -it could have been much better if the right actors would have been chosen more carefully!
Austin has a massive, brutal raw talent, he is absolutely magnificent, I was lucky to see him a few years ago in the iceman cometh, my God he is absolutely amazing, I saw Elvis and he absolutely blew me, I'm so so deeply amazed of his talent, he absolutely deserves the Oscar!!!
Austin was born August 17th. Elvis passed August 16th. Just another "stars aligning" moment.
I like Austin's personality he's very well versed and speaking I believe he's going to go somewhere after this also thank you for the video Tiff very well done I'm 88 years old and I appreciate videos like this

I would love to see that too but some things are just too private and personal like imagine if there was a video of you on the internet crying and mourning your mother while you sing, I would be shitting myself and feel sort of violated because its such a private and personal moment you know?

Baz and Austin deserve an award for this work! As a lifelong fan of Elvis, (even though Elvis was my mom's era), I have always loved and appreciated the contribution to music that Elvis made and of course have never laid eyes upon a more beautiful and Gifted man than Elvis. Austin certainly captured his spirit and I LOVE that Baz so thoughtfully depicted Elvis's early influences, as that was so significant! I have always despised the Colonel and Tom Hanks did a great job of making me remember why!!!!
This is a movie I will purchase as it's definitely a KEEPER!!!

i rewatched this movie in theater a week ago and i’ve rewatched it 3 times now. that’s saying something, how good this movie was and how much work was put in. i loved it! How amazing Austin did in his performance and how Baz depicted the whole story amazingly.

I bought the movie on dvd when it hit Walmart and have watched it every week end since to this day I loved the movie as a fan of Elvis for ever RIP Elvis

Yes, the relationship between the self & the soul is beautifully explored in all its tragedy.
Parker did brand Elvis. I remember being in a car on the Grape Vine in California and hearing the words over the radio: "The King is dead." All the cars pulled over, we turned up our radios and we sobbed.
That in itself is a powerful story. I remember how Joan in Mad Men said when they depicted the response to Marilyn Monroe’s death that “a lot of people felt like they knew her”. It sounds like Elvis had that same quality, to be able to pull such an emotional response from complete strangers! As a Millenial, I can’t recall if I’ve ever cried over a celebrity death…. Maybe Robin Williams.

Austin"s performance was one of the Top 5 of all time. He sang. He danced. George C. Scott's "Patton" didn't have to do those things. Same with Heath Ledger's Joker. My concern is that Austin can come back and able to shed Elvis for his next role. That has to take a lot of time to decompress. He put so much time being EP, he may struggle to come down. Don't envy him one bit. But my gosh, he just nailed it!

These interviews are taking place about a year after Elvis wrapped. Austin mentioned he had been working on Masters of the Air for a year in London. So he still hadn't lost the elvis voice but it's OK.

BAZ, the Director of Elvis movie has made this film about truth of what was happening in 1950s with Elvis and Black music. When Col Tom Parker, Elvis' manager, made selling the product and image of Elvis more important than the soul and creativity of the artist, because Elvis was a very spiritual and creative person, who needed to grow, then tragedy is inevitable; And the tragedy occurs early on. That for me describes the whole meaning for this movie because it not only happened to Elvis but to a whole nation and generations of people in all countries.
It is more and more likely that at some point humans have sold out their souls for the sake of money and that is a tragedy in itself.
The Colonel overworked Elvis so he could gamble millions away. Tom played evil very well

@@obsolise8063 he did say he originally wanted the four hour version but due to of course a cinema release he had to reduce the time , he also said he will eventually RELEASE it but that could b a few years away, I personally feel he's been so busy travelling the world and hundreds of interview he' would be very tired!

That thing was I was Presley didn't even meet Big Mama Thornton. But they had her in the movie portraying hound dog of course it was an actor. But the songwriters were even mentioned in the movie. Someone got it wrong about letting my left heart. Because Elvis Presley was expired by Freddy Bell and the Belmont boys version of hound dog. Which was released in 1955 before Elvis after his mama Thornton. Even though Big Mama Thornton accused Elvis Presley of stealing hound dog from her. That's why I think they put her in the movie. Or her singing a song in the movie with an actor. Which they got it wrong cuz I just watched a clip on the songwriters talking about it and they were not mentioned at all the songwriters of hound dog in the movie but they had big mama Thornton portrayed in the movie I guess. And now that I just hear Austin mention Big Mama Church the way she danced or something like that and Elvis learn from love people like that. Well I'm just saying you who've been mama was but he never met her to the best of my knowledge. So Priscilla Presley she should have known that.
the reason is because Hound dog was written by two white jewish guys liber and Stoller who also wrote jailhouse rock for Elvis among others she didn't write the song any more than he did ,that the big mosconception right there and Elvis first band Scotty moore ,on lead guitar ,bill black on stand up bass and Djfontana on drums the blue moon boys ,didn't get a mention but they shoud have as created the early rockerbilly sound along with Elvis scotty amazing lead guitar bills amazing base sound really put a stamp on those early records and rocked them up ! check out Elvis doing blue suede shoes on a war ship to see bill black and the rest in action with Elvis live brilliant !

They didn't have much sound back in the fifties and early 50s but before instruments and I was lead singer a rock the s*** out of rock and roll. No doubt in my mind. But far as hound dog goes Big Mama had nothing to do with it. Elvis Presley was inspired by Freddie Belle and the bell boys version of hound dog. Looking up and listen to it. It was a different song than Big Mama's. And that's his plan I don't care about big mama. Once almost got on the stage and started rock and rolling with his voice and his moves it was all over. Even Scott anymore says it. That Elvis was the star. And he told Bill black that. Even with another guitar player that was good was still been the same I was would have been the star.. but Bill and Scotty had the rhythm and that sound that Elvis was doing.

OK I saw the movie yes it was wonderful but here’s the thing don’t lie and say that the Presley‘s are not getting a cut of the profits. Of course they’re getting a cut of the profits. You’re using the name, you’re using his music and you’re using his likeness. If they weren’t, there would be no movie.
You are correct that the film would have to pay for the rights to which you mention. However you may want to look up as to who actually owns those rights today. You may might just learn something that you weren't aware of.

This Elvis movie is NOT a biopic because although it is sold as a movie about the relation between Colonel Tom Parker, his manager, and Elvis it also touches on his personal life. And that is where a lot is wrong because it is totally biased in favor of his EX wife Priscilla Beaulieu who, unfortunately also in this clip, is becoming more and more known as Elvis' wife, not the ex, which can make new fans assume that she is his widow. It might sound great to many that Priscilla gave the movie her blessing. But the fact remains that she has changed a lot of Elvis history to suit her story. I'm sure he loved her for some of the time they knew each other, but in reality, she barely spent any time alone with him. They met in September 1959 in Germany and he returned to the US in March of 1960. Then they did not have any contact until 1962, the year of her first visit to him in Memphis, from where they (which included his entire entourage) traveled to Las Vegas. She was 17 then (born May 24, 1945). In December she visited again, for Christmas. In 1963 she first moved in with Elvis' father Vernon and stepmother Dee, but after a while she moved into the main house. During these years, Elvis was away from Memphis a lot, making 3 movies a year in Hollywood or locations such as Hawaii. And during all these years he was also still seeing other women. Priscilla herself said multiple times they were hardly ever alone. According to Priscilla, Elvis had promised to marry her when she was 21. But as her birthday had come and gone and her 22nd birthday was approaching and Elvis still had not kept his word, Priscilla, her parents and the colonel (Tom Parker) visited Elvis on a movie set. Nobody knows what really happened there, except that some time during that visit, Elvis had a mysterious fall in the bathroom. All of a sudden everything escalated and a quick wedding ceremony was arranged on May 1, 1967 (23 days before Priscilla's 22nd birthday) in Las Vegas. The strange thing about that was not just the timing, but also that many people who were close to Elvis were contacted by Parker's people to not attend the wedding. The whole ceremony took just a few minutes and afterwards they were ushered into a room for a press conference. Priscilla soon became pregnant, but halfway through her pregnancy, Elvis already wanted to divorce her. 9 months after the wedding, daughter Lisa Marie was born, after which there was almost no physical relationship between Elvis and Priscilla. By then the 1968 Comeback Special had given a new impulse to his career and from 1969 on he was away from Memphis touring the US for an average of 200 days a year. Both Elvis and Priscilla had affairs during their short marriage. They separated in February of 1972 when Priscilla and Lisa moved to California and Elvis remained in Memphis. Hefiled for divorce on his 38th birthday, January 8, 1973. The divorce was finalized in October of 1973. Priscilla rejected the name Presley and returned to her maiden name Beaulieu after the divorce, stating she wanted to be her own person. She even started a business under that name. But after Elvis died, she soon changed her name to Beaulieu-Presley and some time after that she dropped her maiden name and started calling herself Presley again. She had several relationships after her divorce. In 1984 she met Marco Garibaldi with whom she had a relationship for 21 years. They separated in 2006. Together they had a son, Navarone, in 1987. She never married Garibaldi, although she had a much longer relationship with him than she'd had with Elvis, possibly because she wanted to hang on to the Presley name. Interesting detail is that Elvis did not mention Priscilla at all in his will; not even as guardian of his only child, Lisa Marie. Elvis' cousin Billy Smith and his wife Jo have already said that so many things are not right as far as things concerning Priscilla are concerned. I'm hugely disappointed by the movie 'Elvis'. Austin Butler (who looks nothing like EP) Spent 2 hours and 40 minutes coming off as nothing more than a karaoke Elvis imitator, and Tom Hanks was atrocious as Col. Parker. Neither his whiny voice, bad accent, nor prosthetics worked. Even worse, they chose to completely ignore Linda Thompson. Linda was the only reason Elvis made it to 42. They were together for 5 years, and had she been with him the morning he died, well, he would probably not have. At least then. The movie is a maddening mess.
I’m split here. I disagree with your assessment of Austin, I thought he was sensational as Elvis, but you are 1000% right about Hanks; he was dreadful in the film. And, this is coming from a huge Hanks fan. Baz is incapable of subtlety, so you know what you’re gonna get out of a biopic from him.

Elvis Presley was a man of many appetites. He loved food, women, and music. But one of his favorite things to eat was bacon. He could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And he didn't care how it was cooked. He liked it crispy, he liked it chewy, he even liked it burnt.
One day, Elvis was eating a plate of bacon when he sneezed. A big glob of snot landed right on the bacon. Elvis didn't even flinch. He just picked it up and took a bite.
His friends were disgusted. "What are you doing?" they asked. "That's disgusting!"

And he was right. The bacon was still good. In fact, it was even better than before. The snot added a salty, tangy flavor that Elvis loved.
From that day on, Elvis always ate his bacon with a side of snot. He even started to make his own snot sauce. He would mix his snot with honey, vinegar, and spices. It was the perfect condiment for bacon.
Elvis's friends still thought it was disgusting, but Elvis didn't care. He loved his snot bacon, and that was all that mattered.
