@@FearlessLeader2001 that makes sense. @@FearlessLeader2001 oh okay, i dont recognize half the people so i just assume stuff most of the time XD. Its just too many people, i mainly recognize InvisibleAK, Dangerman and Longbow.
I liked the Cayman at the first track, had a good race with Alex tho in race one, stadium track I was stuck behind Chris, Festival track 5th gear was shit, then might have decided to take a Diablo SV for the last race and also got put in a wall by Chris unintentionally that race 😅
The car's feeling a bit weird because you're not shifting actually makes sense. A lot of them are used to always being in the top of the HP bands, that having to rely on their torque could make them feel odd. Also, changing to a lower gear can give that bit of pop to help certain cars rotate through corners.
On the point of brake lockups. They act a lot more like they do in sim racers. Once a tire is locked up, you have to ease off the pressure a lot more than where that lockup point was before the tires start rotating again. What i've found is I have to really gain a feel for where the lockup is on my trigger. If i do lockup, your best option is to fully release for a split second then apply like, half the amount of brake you initially used then progressively apply them harder if you can. It takes some getting used to, but i've been able to recover from brake lockup's pretty quick once I got the feel for it.
One thing that can be tricky is that in cars with a lot of downforce you can use a lot more brake pressure at high speeds but you have to ease off as you slow down and thus your grip goes down.
That last circuit was pissing me off today as well in the Trial. Too many sticky out parts where my team (including myself) kept hitting them. I didn't know about the bollards until I saw you hit them. It's like the tunnel of love at Prague amplified many, many fold.
I think it's a combination of not having the engine braking making you carry more speed into the corner, as well as changing gears not shifting the car's balance around for why it wasn't handling how you'd expect
A great and frustrating race. Haha. You were struggling to carry speed through the corners because you couldn't downshift and throw weight onto the front wheels. I use it a lot to help chuck the nose into corners
I wouldn't have choosen the F40 for this because it's turbocharged and the torque kicks in a bit later, NA or Supercharged would have been ideal. Eother way you did quite well
I was thinking, one possible alternative method that may be batter and/or interesting would be instead of having until a certain point to reach you gear then staying in it, have everyone choose a gear to set to max size, then set all the rest to the minimum size
Viper ACR, long gears, very good handling and plenty of power/torque. Thats one of the best vehicles for this challenge, but I agree F40 is next best choice.
I love this concept! Makes me wonder how a similar race where you can only use 1st and 2nd gear would compare. Would add tactics with launching and getting off the line fast vs getting more use out of 1st so you could get more drive with second out of corners! Please give this a shot Alex!
I'd like to see this again but with a single B and C class car allowed to use their full gearbox to see if that would be enough to overcome the PI difference
Once new cars get added you should organize a "Luxury Rally" with luxury cars between 50,000-80,000. Rules? No weight reduction allowed and top of S1 class
Your best lap time in the leaderboard at the end of the 2nd race was scuffed. Before you finished the race your best lap was 1:08.702. But the game decided to use your last lap time instead.
The original Camaro had a ZL1 trim literally just a stock take number to represent that the car had the bigger motor, but the people that know about it started calling them ZL1 Camaro’s to differentiate it from the regular Camaro because of hoe much better it was. Because of that Chevrolet adds the Z_1 on every performance model to denote performance and pay homage to the original.
I'm impressed how accurate the game is about braking and cornering in gear too high, you don't have gearing support doing these manoeuvres, like in real life
Alex I don't know if I would be running that livery with Marlboro on the side. Turn 10 recently banned someone just for having a hard seltzer logo on their vehicle.
Hey, Alex, When you aren't downshifting when braking for a corner, the revs drop lower than usual, probably tricking one's brain into thinking the car is going slower than it is. That may be why you went around corners a little too fast a couple times.
In a race like this you don’t want to go with a turbo car since you’re stuck in the lag so much longer, a NA or supercharged car will have much better uptake off the corners
I really don't like how the game takes away your UI right before you cross the finish line. Is there any way to turn that off, for when I get the game?

Why are there sticky-out bits in this game? In GTA it's understandable because it's not just a racing game. Forza created a fictional place specifically for racing and racing alone. So what's their excuse?
Because town streets are still places NOT build as racing tracks and Forza wants to show that difference in environment and hazzards. Bollards sticking out from a narrow street improve access to that street for pedestrians and cyclists, compared to flush placement. Cars racing on the sidewalk are not a parameter in city planning.
You don't need much speed on ANY of these circuits. This would have been more interesting on the sprints tbh. Also the circuits in this game just aren't that great IMHO. Every single circuit is just "build for handling". At least there are some sprints where you need both speed and handling.
A class 914 awd and turbo charged and upgraded is amazing for A class classic sports cars like the current trial the only down side is it its lack luster top speed but the awd turbo racing slick combo gives excellent cornering and acceleration of the line and if you keep the turbos spooled by slightly holding down the throttle (like Senna did in F1) the exit of the corner is even better as the turbo is already going
@@andrewhardman3216 so is a d class 914, rwd- maxed tyre width and distance - I was reliably beating a b class ai, without even driving well, I can easily see it getting nerfed!

Need a turbo car for this, with NA you are reliant on high RPM for horsepower, while turbo (usually) has a much wider powerband.
Not the F40's turbo though 😂
The turbo lag in the f40 makes choosing one gear tricky , 3rd id say is the best but soon as the revs drop below 4.5k it struggles
Suddenly your rivals time on the first lap makes sense!

It seems like gear affects turning radius. It's like the tires can't slow down enough to tighten the corner.
