    Thanks for this Chris. You constantly seem to remind me to get up to Scotland more. This wildcamp looks lovely, despite being rather awkward to find what with the ground. I hope you will be showing more videos of your trips, as they're much enjoyed and appreciated.

      Can't beat the ts excellent pitch 😊 is that a big rectangular flat groundsheet? Do you sleep head at door ever and or simply lie wherever is best depending pitch location.

      It's a very old rectangular groundsheet - the first one that fell out of the cupboard! I sleep wherever is most comfortable. Towards the back if the weather is stormy, as it was the evening before this video.

      @ChrisTownsendOutdoor the first that fell out 😀
      I grabbed a groundsheet for dartmoor other day in solomid to discover where it was for ts ... I managed with it and foam mats.

    Is this shelter ok in strong winds? Looks like it can be blown away easily..i m considering smth like this..but defenitely want smth wind stable.

      It's actually very stable. The most stable shelter for its weight I've used. As long as it's pegged down securely. I've had it for well over ten years and it's stood up to some big storms.

    Great view, is that the type silnylon trailstar you are using? It looks like mine, a real old-timer 👌

    Hey Chris! What type of ground sheet are you using there under your mat?

    • @ChrisTownsendOutdoor
      @ChrisTownsendOutdoor  8 місяців тому +1

      It's an old (20 years +) flat silnylon one from a long-gone brand. I'm quite surprised it's still waterproof!

      @@ChrisTownsendOutdoor well, certainly worth whatever you paid for it back then I guess! I have recently heard about people experimenting with something called Skytex 27 as a groundsheet. Some kind of paragliding material.
