  • It's impossible to explain every detail of how beautiful Malaysia is in just one video.
But I'd like to talk about why Japanese are attracted to this country.
The reason there is a big deal, but it's something not visible with our eyes.

    » SELF-INTRODUCTION
We were just an ordinary Japanese married couple, both working, until my wife suddenly chose to move overseas.
After thinking deeply, I reached a conclusion to leave the company I worked for 12 years, and started my new life as a stay-at-home dad in 2021.
At first, I had rough time with stress and felt conflicted, but now I enjoy my life in Malaysia, taking the household chores over from my wife.
As I changed my lifestyle I changed my hairstyle to Samurai(Man Bun).
I named this channel "Samurai -----" as some people call me "samurai!" since I came to Malaysia.
In this channel, I will be introducing:
    1. My daily life and things I noticed as stay-home-dad
    2. My Malaysian life
    3. Changes we experience upon moving overseas
    Hope you enjoy!

There is no perfect place; just a suitable place. Sometimes, Malaysian in general are being too complacent in life. We do not know how fortunate we are living in a place where very minimal natural disasters, generally harmony living despite multi cultural community; and a place where still affordable in many ways.. and cater for all walks of life; from budget to luxury segments. We have abundance of food, good medical facilities, and generally nice people who is willing to help regardless of race, religion. All the best in Malaysia

It does feel relaxed here n you can be yourselves. People are not judgemental or will look at you funny. If you notice, Msians are very at ease wherever they go. They wear whatever comfortable, even pajamas to the malls! Now we are in Ramadan, you will see the muslims in their prayer attire everywhere at night after performing their prayers. Dont be afraid when you see women all covered up in their telekung lining up to buy Starbucks. We are very comfortable with ourselves and we are tolerant with other peoples’ level of comfort as well.
Enjoy your stay here. Appreciate the greenery everywhere, blank spaces are aplenty. Do visit Putrajaya n enjoy the many gardens there. You can try cycling at Wetlands Putrajaya n enjoy the scenic routed there. Simple beautiful.

I agree with you that Malaysia provides "blank space".. & we aren't aware of it.
I realize the "blank space" earlier this month after contemplating this subject: should I still work in Malaysia & should I go to SG to boost my career advancement?
If I were to work in SG, I would miss:
    (1) the free time to do gardening on weekends, tend my vermicompost, observing my beautiful guava tree slowly fruiting.. & wrapping those fruits
    (2) my weekends practising traditional archery from 9-12pm for free. Helping my coach train kids in archery for free. Help him build his little archery club
    (3) enjoy company of friends & family & neighbours who help one another, generous & have the "gotong-royong" spirit
    (4) miss the simple life. Watch the birds. Enjoy sight of mountains. Consciously Monitoring my cat's health from chubby to slim
I'm happy not getting SGD salary because I'm content with what I have

Thank you for feeling the same way in Malaysia, the way I feel whenever I'm in Japan. When I was in Japan, I experience the "blank space" and jiyu you felt here, because my "space" is indeed congested here in KL. Whether I'm in Kichijoji or Ishikawa, I feel at peace. Home away from home is always possible, and I'm glad you've found one in Malaysia 💚

So that's why each time i come back to my home country from overseas i will let out a huge sigh of relief. This video reminds me of the time me and my family went to Japan probably 4 years ago.
We went to Osaka and we all loved the very disciplined nature of Japanese people.
Everywhere is so clean and we quickly noticed how the Japanese are accustomed to unwritten rules such as lining up to board a train and stuffs.
    BUT
We spend five days there and I felt completely exhausted mentally. I find myself drowned by the mental burden the Japanese carry. They all are always in a rush, walks very fast and always seems to be scared of getting judged. This is something I've never felt in Malaysia.
Going to Japan as a tourist is lovely but to live there is not something I can imagine myself doing

I'm glad we did adapted British system business and education. Malaya was one of the important country for traders all over the world last time. Honestly, prior to the pandemic, I've always dreamed of going to Japan or Europe just for sightseeing.. but after you guys came to Malaysia, my views changed... and I realized something = what I really want is just to be happy, and I can achieve that just by being myself here.. and my god I don't want to go anywhere anymore.....

Beautifully captured outlook on life. In Islam, that is called sakeenah- being truly at peace with yourself. Gratitude, thankfulness based on what Allah has granted us. Be a faithful servant of Allah, be nice to people and to nature. Because we'll be accounted for with our actions in the hereafter. Make our temporal life here as meaningful as possible, as it is an investment for our akhirah. That's how I look at it. Being in Japan recently, I felt too constricted being managed by the 'clock'- forever rushing to catch a train somewhere that you lose the pleasure of the world passing by. Unless you run to countryside, which is wonderful

There is a Malay word that is associated with the feeling being chased or surrounded by worries or unpleasanteries or uneaseness in your surrounding. The word is called rimas.
When you are rimas, you can't think properly, you can't enjoy the good thing in life properly.
Another word that comes to mind is jiwa kacau. It means a worryful heart.

I never thought a Japanese man could feel that way for my home country. I thought you could find this in Japan as well because from what i checked Japan has abundance of green nature. I'm glad you found it here. However...Doesn't matter where we found the blank space... as long we appreciate n have respect for that... naturally we will immerse ourselves in them. As for me living in kampung... I'm surrounded with greens n lovely kampung people everyday. So more or less I guess my blank space is larrrrrrger than yours.. hehehe.. come visit n jalan-jalan to kampung. You will feel the differences. Have a good day🌴🌳🌾

I'm Malaysian and been to many parts of the world, and I really understand you. The best countries for living are those that have balance between innovation (collective success) and warmth (individual touch). Malaysia fits this well. Another country that fits this is Turkiye (from my experience). When I first visited Turkiye, after spending first day in Istanbul I felt like 'wow this country truly makes my hearts melt and at peace'!
In developed countries, there is innovation but lack of genuine warmth. In developing countries, there is genuine warmth but there's no innovation. So life feels somehow 'hollow'.

Malaysia is a lot like a friend, with his own faults and flaws - but accepts yours too.
The blank space exist between you and him is so welcomed. It allows you to mature and grow with lots of wiggle room to reflect and learn.

We call that feelings "Layan blues~". Its just a concept where you can just take in your surroundings & your feelings. You forget your stress and be at ease. Even just a simple relax can give more motivations to move forward with life.
This is a very relaxing & enjoying video. I hope people everywhere can improve their physical & mental health.
