Love it! As a good Jewish boy I can appreciate a variety of potato based pancake type foods (hey, another pancake!) Going to have to give these a try for sure.
you don't need to make small balls either. If you're baking for Christmas for your entire family, you don't have time to do that. We have 1 making the dough. I rolling the whole piece of a dough sice of a little melon. Then the next one use a roller to make a huge circle. Then take a ring and press out the shapes. (the leftovers are then rolled into a bun-dough again and the process continues) Then the next person put it in the pan. and finally the last take them off and put them on a bench to cool down. And finally the kids are helping the adults to pack 5-10 in plastic bags and zip them. Then they give away or sell for others. One year I helped a home baker making lompe of 20liter of boiled potatoes. We didn't cubed them either. Then we have lompe for May 17th also.
We don't use butter and cream in Norway 😎 1 kg potatoes boiled, mashed 1,5 dl wheat flour 1 dl rye flour 1 ts salt www.matprat.no/oppskrifter/tradisjon/potetlomper/ fry in dry pan: ua-cam.com/video/AK2YfBDdJds/v-deo.html
Another great option. Thank you for sharing! The consistency will come out slightly different without the cream. From my experience, I find the addition of cream brings it closer to the lomper we find in stores. Certainly both good recipes though!
I am new in Norway ! Thanks for the recipie !
If you do not have a masher, a pastry blender works great on soft potatoes
