- BRUTAL DOOM Schism/Rebalance 0.92C mod together with Ordinary Day by Razor-Wind, 100% Secrets achieved but on normal UV difficulty because holy moly it hurts a lot on UV-fast. Brutal Doom Schism or Rebalance, is a modded version of Brutal Doom v21, adding 3 different classes (UAC Marine, Paladin, Sorcerer), tons of new weapons and some monsters. That Ordinary Day map made by Razor-Wind is by far the hardest one I played made by him, the amount of monsters is not as big as in other, but hell... These encounters are surely quite difficult when playing, some of them will surely catch you off guard, for example imagine a Baron Of Hell spawning right next to you. In case of the Brutal Doom, Barons of Hell can kill you in just one hit, their melee grab is almost always an instakill and I had it here at least one closed arena fight. The map itself will be tough, and it will be way tougher for you if you are unlucky in terms of found weapons - without Assault Shotgun, M-60 and Minigun this is surely hard to overcome. This is also the map where you have to fight all the bosses in a quite short span of time, first will be the Cyberdemon or his spawn, depends from the Schism's randomness. Unfortunately because of the map conflict with Schism, the yellow/gold skull will be not dropped from any other monster than Cyberdemon, so there is nothing bad with spawning the key back. This fight is also quite difficult because of the really tight space inside a cathedral, but these Cryo Grenades will be enough to stun and kill a boss, these grenades do wonders! Next boss is the Spider Mastermind, but she is pretty weak and we also have the BFG spawn available to fight her, but try to conserve as much as ammo is possible, it will be used for... the next boss which is an Icon of Sin itself, but it does not use the screaming attack this time, still it loves to summon tons of monsters and one-hit one-kill you with fireballs.

The first secret is just genious - a chainsaw hidden behind secret wall, of a room, that had two enemies that drop the chainsaw.

I'm the creator of this map and in Brutal Doom 21 no enemies are supposed to drop the chainsaw. This map was created specifically for Brutal Doom 21, and not another mod.
Martinoz is playing here with Schism, a variant of Brutal Doom 21 with modified enemies and different drops. This explains that. x)
I made other maps with wider compatibility, this kind of situation can happen with Project Brutality but it's still random.

It’s a shame that there are more impactful bulky feeling gun in a mod for a 30 year old game ( which is a awesome game!) then most of the games now.
I think it has to do with sprites. When you look at new sprite games like Ion Fury it still has that very imactful feel most 3d games dont have. This clealy has something to do with less frames in animations that makes them feel more "visceral" in a way. Also the exaggerated amount of blood and guts pouring out of enemies in those games helps to sell that feeling.

Yeah, Brutal Doom's shotguns are for me the best shotguns I have ever used in any fps. They feel so punchy, it's incredible lol
Yes this shotgun is a masterpiece, I think most developers use toned down versions of the gun noises because too many people will complain about it hurting their ears or something idk lol

@@noneoftheabove4571 I also ask myself why. The rifle in original doom looks like a M16 or a G36. The animation is interesting bcs it is always welcome to see a bullpup rifle in a game
This was what the OG icon of sin fight in DOOM 2 was supposed to be like, sadly the tech didn’t allow for it in the 90’s.
It would probably melt the single core 1.5hz core inside most pcs

Brutal Doom really makes the weapons feel so powerful. The way the shotgun sounds and feels, and the way the enemies burst into pieces.. so much aggression. There aint many 3D games with the same feeling.. I guess the first Soldier of Fortune when running into the subway station, blowing off arms and legs... shame they don't make these kinda games no more.
Finally, some good ass SSG sprite for Brutal Doom.
Man I wish DOOM Eternal's Icon of Sin had this design. The one it "officially" has looks like it's just an oversized Hellknight with the Icon face
He is Just a simplified version of the many Giants you see in the game. I wish they did more diverse design choices. More than two arms, a tail, body details. Even his size is dissapointing to me. He is only a building size? I would have made him almost sky high.
@@cachorrodekatana117 well the size doesn't matter that much for me, it just looks way too humanoid (except the head). Imagine it being a 4 legged beast or something, or having multiple limbs like in this video.
What I found a little more strange was, despite it being called oh so powerful, it didn't really do much. It couldn't even destroy that skyscraper you were fighting it on lol. Would be cool if the building got more and more destroyed or something similiar
@@bowserknight i agree. If they were going with such humanoid design, they should at least made him bigger. About his Power, i also found the fact that he was not able to Destroy anithing realy weird. Imagine figthing him around ten huge structures wich all had diferent arenas, and then there would be more body parts for you to destroy. And then suddenly he would start charging a attack from the pentagram on his head, and cut a building in half.

This total conversion looks, sounds and feels exactly as my nostalgia of Doom. I have nothing but great, sweet, memories from my teenage summer days, locked up in my room with the AC on, listening to loud metal music while playing the PS1 version of Doom (in my opinion, the best version of the original 2 games, as it included "Hell on Earth") with the hardest difficulty setting.
That's pretty much an accurate description of my adolescence.

why does the chaingun, which is connected to a box, feed straight from your bullet reserves while the machine gun, a belt-fed weapon with potentially infinite links, have a 100 round limit to its capacity?

I haven't played BD in years, but whats with the sound quality? Like music is really good quality, but then all the game sounds sound bit-crunched for some reason?
When you aim down sights, is it done "toggle" style or "quick aim" style? Or can you switch between the two? I like the pistol-style three-dot sight on the shotgun, but I don't understand why they felt the need to make Doomguy reload it "wrong-handed" (using the shooting hand to reload instead of the support hand). Paul Harrell would not approve. Nor would any drill instructor. Also notice how he holds the M-60 Rambo-style when shooting from the hip. The grenade launcher is definitely based on the M-79. The M-60 and the M-79 are both 'Nam-era weapons, so I'm wondering if that was an intentional motif. Notice how they gave the launcher a snazzy OD green skeleton stock. And the revolver is a single-action shotgun revolver?! That's definitely unique!

Remove 'bd_bloodamount' and all other conflicting cvars from your ini and restart Zandronum to continue.
What should I do?
@@yaelarteaga1329 Download GZDOOM, get the wads you want to play (DOOM.wad, DOOM2.wad, etc., note that many other wads, like SIGIL, require these official wads to be present in the same folder as the GZDOOM executable), create a shortcut to GZDOOM.exe, right click on it, find the Target field and put names of the wads and mods you want use at the end of it. It should look something like this: "D:\GZDOOM\gzdoom.exe SIGIL_v1_21.wad Project_Brutality-master.zip"

Follow this link to the Brutal Doom Schism discord, you can download it there. Https://discord.gg/mWY5pVm
When you download it, unzip it to your file location that has your doom source port (I prefer Zandronum for multiplayer), then hold control and click on brutal doom schism and then doom 2, then click and drag them to Zandronum to open them together.

Doesnt Schism have the 25% more damage taken? This is some great stuff.
There is two basic set's of difficulty levels - red set, with normal monster speed, but with 1.25 damagefactor (what means player and monster recieves 25% more damage), and black set, with fast monsters as default rule, and normal damagefactor. Schism was designed for this second option, however I decided to add difficulty levels for Androind players, respecting thier interest in my project

Thankfully Brutal Doom allows you to turn off reloading! I always prefer to play it that way because the enemies are buffed up as well.
If there's reloading, that's not DOOM.
