Being a reactionary UA-camr gotta be the easiest job in the world , you just gotta sit there and pretend you're excited for a couple of hours and you get paid handsomely for it , and then come the channels that make reaction videos of those reaction videos, damn it's fascinating how the internet destroyed the concept of work in general not just hard work , you literally got people making money for doing absolutely nothing, what a Time to be alive.

Having watched several channels and gotten a better understanding of the process, I don't think its fair to say its easy and not really work. Lets start with editing reactions for UA-cam: it is damn near impossible to anticipate what scene from a movie/show will trigger a copyright notice. Then you add in music often being a no-go, along with whatever UA-cam's latest policy on profanity and adult situations happens to be. You end up with an extremely draconian content policy you have to edit around. Doing that while showing dialogue in a coherent fashion and keeping in all the reactors best bits: I absolutely believe the editors who do this well deserve their own category in some award show. As for reactors themselves: there's skill involved there as well. Talk too much or too little, you can ruin the reaction. You fail to pay full attention to the movie because it doesn't personally interest you, you also ruin the reaction. There's a lot of little ways a reactor can lose a crowd, so once again: there is a difference between those who do it well and those who don't. Ultimately, the desire to see someone's reaction a show or movie you like has existed long before UA-cam. There's a lot of people out there who just enjoy watching a piece of entertainment with someone that comes off as personable: there's far worse ways to make a living than being that someone.
