For me, just the idea of being able to intonate a word against all that wind is already quite remarkable. For all her interpretation on this performance, I consider her one of the greatest singers ever.

I wouldn't take these comments at face value. Callas and Tebaldi were vicious in their wars with other singers and each other particularly. It's more likely that these comments contained an amount of sarcasm.
Callas, Sutherland, Oliviero, and Tebaldi all admired Montserrat. I don’t think there was anything but affection from most diva’s when it came to La Superba

This is truly magnificently sung! There are a few things you need to remember about sopranos: a diva may be in excellent voice for Thursday's performance and then be disappointing in the same role on Saturday. There are other videos of Montserrat Caballe on YT singing the same aria but not with the same ease, consummate artistry, and control. Music fans, both popular and classical, are often obsessed with who is THE BEST. There is no "best", only good nights, bad nights, and personal faves.
Of course there are bad nights, but you need to know how to sing, if not there's no night at all. She was great and that's it. With bad and good nights like all humans, like Callas, Tebaldi, Sutherland, but at the end, we will never reach that kind of greatness again in Opera.

And don't forget that on the videotape, the sound was far less rough and dry than on the DVD which makes her voice thiner and more colorless in the higher notes than it actually is. And she's very dramatically credible througout the performance.

She loses her consonants whenever she goes for the high notes and her glissando and trill have a fake quality, unlike Callas'. Nonetheless, this is a stunning casta diva, and even Callas praised Caballé highly for this performance. The Mistral swirling around and their robes flapping about also add to the drama of this performance. Caballé is a worthy Norma and nobody can deny that. Brava Caballé!

Listening to several of the interpretations posted on this site, one thing is certain: there is not a false note and in that sense, it's perfection. But where is the feeling, the emotion, the theater? This is a greek statue singing! Compare this to Callas, sorry, there is no comparison.
In pure operatic technique, Caballe is a god among insects. If I wanted acting and emotion, I would go watch a drama film at the cinemas or on TV. Just my opinion, of course. (And yes, Callas has unrivalled talent in expressing true pathos and emotion in her performances, and in that realm, I agree, she is without peer. Feelings and emotions, however, I prefer to find somewhere else outside of opera.)
