  • Introducing the first truly universal fill valve - the PRO45U. Based on our PRO45 platform, the PRO45U is built to fit every toilet out there - from the old 5 gpf to the new 1.28 HET toilets to special toilets like the TOTO® Drake and Kohler® Cimarron. The PRO45U restores them all to factory specifications thanks to six refill diverter inserts and our patented water saving refill adjuster. Now plumbers don’t have to worry about having the right fill valve on their truck. With the PRO45U, plumbers know they have the right fill valve for any toilet.
    Fluidmaster invented the fill valve technology in 1958.
    * Fits all two-piece and most one-piece toilets
    * Refill diverter inserts and roller clamp refill adjuster allow PRO45U to set toilet to factory spec for bowl refill
    * Bowl refill rate can be adjusted to meet factory spec of toilet
    * Ultra-quiet operation
    * Minimal water hammer
    * Code approved
    * Easy to install and adjust

    I was able to replace my fill valve with a new universal Fluidmaster fill valve thanks to your video, as well as others. It took me two hours lol since I have difficulty doing anything, but it worked and no leaks! Thanks for this video.

    I bought one of these for my Kohler toilet. I had to go back and get different parts, I finally just went and bought a new toilet.

    RideTheLightning80 - I agree, the blue water restricting clamp is a bad idea. I do like the different size diverter inserts. They are a pain to change though.

    The Fluidmaster 400A has a major flaw. It takes 4 mins to refill your tank where the old style takes less than a minute. The issue is theres a white rubber stopper in the valve that you must remove for the tank to fill faster. Why did the company did this?? Stupidity?? yes. Some of us needs to double flush as first time around doesn't clean everything. It appear they added this stopper in newer models.

    At 1:00 it says lengthen fill valve 3” - but does not show measuring points. Do you mean top of whole unit?

    whats the purpose of the roller clamp on the refill hose, since many times if I mess with it the bowl fills?

    After following the kit instructions still using too much water. Those inserts were not included in the regular non pro kit. The roller clamp seems useless. Even with float adjustment fully clockwise bowl still loosing lots of watet.

    Just finished installing the new fill valve. The level came up perfect, then i realized that every 12-13 minutes water turns on through the fill for about 10 seconds. Seems to do this continuously Maybe there is water leaking out of the bowl internally?
    Any suggestions?

      I had the same issue. I first checked the new flapper. It was fine. Turned out the gasket between the bowl and the tank (3 bolt system) was missing a plastic washer. Once it was installed, the issue was resolved. Make sure the gasket is seated correctly as well. Hope this helps.

      There’s suction. Elevate fill tube above fill valve and you’ll be good. If the fill tube is shoved down the flush valve tube it’ll suck water out slowly from the tank and cause the fill valve to turn on

    The water in my bowl rises high (and makes me nervous that it will keep rising). What causes that? I replaced the internal components (fill value, flapper, etc). I set my clamp to zero since it appears that the toilet bowl doesn't need it to refill.

      Try shutting the water off to the toilet, and holding the handle down until you’ve drained all the water you can out of the tank. Then, take a bucket, or something that can hold a large volume of water, and fill it up. Very slowly pour that water into the toilet bowl until it’s empty, and wait until the water settles. Wherever the water stops at, is the bowl’s “natural resting point”. If the water inside the bowl ever stops, and is higher than this “natural resting point” then that means the bowl is clogged with toilet paper or other debris. This would require cleaning out the rim feed holes, or the jet hole inside the toilet bowl. If you need any further help, please call Technical Support at 1-800-631-2011 between Mon-Fri from 5:30am till 5pm PST. Thanks.

    This pruduct is overkill. I've installed your 400 a valve at least twice a day for 15 years now and won't use anything but ....this model however ,fails every time I see it and I end up removing all the extra blue pieces from the fill hose

    How do you determine or measure the water in the bowl is the correct or desired height?

    • @tedlahm5740
      @tedlahm5740 Рік тому +1

      Slowly fill the bowl with external water supply. It will SELF LEVEL ITSELS.
      that is the correct level.

    Why do they run the water into the overflow tube?

    • @picsman03
      @picsman03 4 роки тому +2

      I think that’s how the water in the toilet bowl is filled. The flapper lets the tank water flow out quickly to flush the toilet and the flapper closes to fill the tank. Then water flows into the toilet bowl thru the overflow tube, also known as the fill tube ( for the bowl).

      My previous fill valve had no fill tube, and my bowl level was fine. So, my toilet doesn't require the fill tube. Can I re-aim the fill tube into the tank to reclaim that water?
