@William Rodgers , I saw John and the Goners, for the first time, around 1988 or 89, on the original Slow Turning tour, opening up for Robert Cray. John was excellent, and Sonny was (and remains) awe-inspiring. Cray was decidedly dull and uninspiring by comparison, and I left early. A similar thing happened a few years later when I took my new girlfriend to see John and the Guilty Dogs on the Perfectly Good Guitar tour, opening for Jackson Browne. Hiatt and his band were on fire; than Jackson came out and bored us both. My girlfriend (now my wife) pretty much dragged me out of there! I like J Browne just fine *as long as David Lindley is playing with him*. Jackson really needs the edge, the element of weirdness that Lindley brings along..
I grew up listening to John Hiatt. I'm 46 now, don't listen to him much these days, but this song stops me in my tracks every time.
Icy Blue Heart is just KILLER!!! Love John.
since when is John working with Sonny again? THE COMBO IS AMAZING
It was the ''Slow Turning Tour '' in 2018. John and The Goners played the entire album because of the 30th anniversary of the album. :)
