- We bought our motorhome from Marquis Leisure in Sheffield and this video highlights our experience. We wanted to say a big thank you to Kevin and Neal for their brilliant help and service. Although we can only speak for ourselves, we can honestly say that we are really pleased that we bought from this branch.

Before you even say a word that ear to ear grin arrives. What 3 words was epic and as always the subtlety and delivery on the money. On a serious note only once have I put a deposit down but I paid in cash on collection and that was my first van many years ago and it was a smooth transaction. Again thanks for sharing and keep the humour coming.

I needed this. I need your channel. Today this video acted like an extension of the emergency services. I say this because I was still crying a soupcon from a really sad drama I have just finished watching. I was going to lie a lil' bit by saying it was a documentary that upset me. Those location tags had me crying 🤣🤣 Not bought a van yet, but have been in contact with a couple of the Marquis branches here in the south after they were recommended to me from a friend and another dealer in the motorhome trade. I have not been disappointed by the welcome I have received from them. I have found them to be professional, helpful and friendly. I get the impression that their after sales care will be much as you have experienced so far. Glad you've found "the one" after a bit of a bumpy start. Look forward to watching your new adventures ☺

Loved this one, I lived in Filey from the age of 9 until 18, I actually met my hubby outside the three tuns pub! 32 yrs of marriage later, we watched the vid the other night and enjoyed reminiscing as you were walking round all our favourite places. We bought an older motorhome for our first one , just incase we don't like it .. 2002 bessecarr e725 4 berth .. with end lounge. Only been out once so far to Knaresborough. We are going to Hornse this weekend just to get away for new year..
I looked at Marquis for a motorhome, but didn't want to spend a fortune on our 1st van .. we live in Rotherham, so we are looking forward to visiting some of your local ish camp sites.

Bought our caravan new and had to pay the balance in full 3 days before collection, must be a common thing to do today.
Really shocked that you didn't put out a warning before showing that poor tree that had lost its life.

Absolutely brilliant! Where to begin? The oak tree, whilst it has been very windy of late was always going to suffer, some of the roots had rotted (oak tree roots are very shallow too) and the tree trunk was diseased. I don't think you could've got better service than what Marquis gave you, it was their mistake not to change the timing belt prior to letting you take ownership of the motorhome, in future I suspect you'll be under obligation to take it to them in Sheffield for the annual habitation check and tne vehicle service? Our Ducato based motorhome service schedule is every two years and to maintain the water ingress warranty ( 7 years) every year it has to be inspected by a Dethleffs dealership. Don't beat yourself up over the
price and the lack of discount on the purchase price. Our forst motorhome we purchased we were like yourselves, nothing to trade in ( part ex) and I was told no sorry, if you don't buy it someone else will! I hope 🎅 came?

Don Amott are the same, 5K deposit though, 3 days to pay full balance before pickup, but they do a full handover video, so you can refer back and check systems over.🤔

Did they process your balance during the 3 day period or when you picked up the motor home?
Processed as received. It was all fine but wasn’t sure if that’s the norm
I'm a motorhomer and run a motorhone dealership, just a little thing about the negotiation
It's not a battle and it ahold be fun and fair but it's not all about discount it's about what you pay.
I price the vans at my dealership and we are probably one of the cheapest around and have one of the best warranties, we deal people from all over the country.
But, we might not discount the van as much as some it her dealers, one of our local competitors is one of the most expensive in the country, you might get a bigger discount there but the same van will cost £3-5000 less with us, don't concentrate on the discount, research the van and itsndown to how much you pay not what you get knocked off.
For those looking at Marquis forna used van they can be extremely expensive so unternet price check and not all branches are as good as others so beware

I also bought from Marquis, very good service. Also felt funny about handing 9ver cash and taking on any insolvency risk. Luckily in my job I have access to credit reports and searched before making that decision. Not fool proof but made me feel a bit better.

We had a similar experience with our van deposit paid then balance 3 days before collection, we said no chance balance once we are happy, we won that battle 😀 they won't lose a big money deal.

Interesting. We bought our motorhome, our first, from Salop Leisure. A new Swift. We put a £500 refundable deposit down in Oct 2022. We paid the balance of over £90k the day before we picked it up and on the day. September 2023. We had to split the payment due to the bank and the size of what we were paying. Very similar to what we did buying new cars. Our dealer is also local, 5 mins from where we live. Dealer honoured the price we contracted in 2022. The new price for what we were supplied is now over £10k more than we paid. Due to delays we have also had extra 2024 modifications made. We had guidance on insurances,, dealer told us about several I didn't use the dealer , used Comfort and got discounts. One thing I had to sort out was the extended Fiat warranty . Dealer wasn't that helpful.
Comfort is the insurer our dealer recommended to us… it ended up being half price 👍

I have been going to Filey for years and love the place. Notice you have a pooch, if you ever need a vet I fully recommend the vets near the station opposite heron foods on the A1039 (Station Avenue). We booked our dog in as a holiday visit where he stayed n their holiday books.

I change mine every 50.000 mile or 5 years , plus water pump plus gear box oil change 👍🏻
