- In today's video I talk about Tales of Innocence R, a game launched on the Playstation Vita back in 2012 which is a reimagining of the original DS game of the same name.

This game needs to release to the west someday. I'm telling you one of the best JRPG that ever made both nintendo ds and playstation vita versions.
I thought it was pretty solid. I would love if they even did a port of this and Hearts R in like a dual pack for the consoles and PC.
Love your appreciation and acknowledgment of Innocence R. I really was hopeful when we got Hearts R years ago that we would eventually get this as well but alas we did not… It’s a real shame because the Triverse universe between Hearts, Innocence and the possible Tempest R which may have been planned but never made seemed very interesting but left so many unanswered questions.
Thanks for stopping by! It's sad that a lot of people don't know about Innocence R. Such an incredible experience locked behind the Vita. I honestly didn't know about Tales of the Tempest either! I definitely have to look into that one even if it's just for knowledge.
Great video! Now I'll definitely play this in the future!🙌
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh haha i just did a good bit of the translation (tho I was in charge of releasing patches for a while). It's actually the rest of the Life Bottle team were the ones responsible for inserting the text into the game.
I'm glad you enjoyed it tho! Innocence R is a special game in my heart. I'm grateful to LB for bringing the english patch to life.
Hey! Thanks for stopping by! I definitely appreciate the work you guys do as a whole as people like me would not have been able to experience it. Keep up the good work for sure!
The Style and Rave names were carried over from the DS version of the game, though they work differently from the DS version. Glad to see you enjoyed the game; the translation team I'm a part of (Life Bottle Productions) is still working on fixing the grammatical mistakes in the English patch of the game. We've managed to get the numbers fixed during the missions in battle, but there are still a decent amount of fixes we need to do.
As for bosses (especially the humanoid ones), the game gives you plenty of options to help against them. Unlike previous games, food can actually give you temporary abilities to the whole party, which can make fights a lot easier if you know what you're up against. They can also provide abilities such as dash or jump cancel, which can let the player reset their combo chain and continue comboing. A particularly good skill is the Destroyer skill, which lets you break through super armor much faster.
Funnily enough, I almost never had trouble against boss fights with the right strategies you can set in the strategies menu. The game also lets you customize specific artes each party member can use based on certain conditions (like HP or TP), which can really help with keeping up your health (and your allies) during fights. You can also create different strategies for different situations (with a total of four strategies you can swap between in battle), so it's helpful to create one for when the boss enters overlimit so that your entire party remains on guard and avoids attacks.
Thanks for stopping by and all your team's hardwork! I do appreciate the insight regarding the bosses as well since I just walled through them. Is there anything else you guys are also working on?
@@Natquerx Our team is currently working on Tales of Rebirth (PS2 version) and Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, though most of the effort is on Rebirth at the moment. For me personally though, I'm still stuck on fixing Innocence R.
This game looks great tbh. Great opening. Great gameplay. Love the licence board/sphere grid thing too. Xillia had something similar with lilium orbs. Are the skits silent, though?
If I recall a lot of them are voiced.
They skits were silent here? Unless you just muted them?
I am pretty sure I muted them so I could tell over them without it clashing. If you check the tales of innocence r english translation update 1 you will hear it voiced in Japanese @@nezkeys79
@Natquerx oh? So it's Japanese voices with English subtitles? I was expecting both hearts R and Innocence R to be English voiced 😮
The caption is 100%true. I WISH they realease a english vertion still today the story is very great. I played it in ds. And iwang the great graphics they made for the vita.
I started playing the fan translated ds version, and I don't understand why this game never got an official English release. This is, by far, the best portable tales game excluding the switch.
Have you played Tales of Heart R? That is on my list of games to play as well. I am curious how it compares to Innocence.
@@Natquerx I've only played about an hour or so. It's on my backlog as well
Has anyone told you your normal speaking voice, sounds like Jude Mathis from Tales of Xillia?
I have not heard that!
Sure.
Let's pretend that ToI is *not* somewhat trapped either.
The enflish patch removed the multiplayer.
*Sigh*
It sucks and the PSP DUB of Hearts R while only dubbed for TEXT only not voice acting it NEVER left the Vita the normal version of hearts NOT left Japan on the DS either.
At least we were blessed with the vita version of Hearts R which I am currently playing though it is sad seeing such good games being locked in obscurity.
