- Ranking the Best Boots / Footwear in Baldur's Gate 3 on a Tier List! We actually get some boots really early on in this game that we can use for the entire play through and some of them have effects that sound good on paper but aren't actually that great. I wanted to breakdown all the different shoes boots greaves and footwear in BG3 after analyzing their abilities and using them all in practice. Some items are extremely good but don't show it until you actually use them. The boots I use the most in baldur's gate 3 would likely be the evasive shoes since they give a nice boost to armor class.

Every play thru is just everyone fighting for the Nightwalkers and boots of stormy clamour
kinda strange fightning for these itens. Nightwalkers should go to the character that have the most movement issues (like Clerics who generally doesn't have strength or Mystic Step). And boots of stormy clamour shoud go for the character that attacks the most (like Monk or Barbarians with beserker subclass). Generally i don't need to discuss anything.
Nightwalkers and stormy clamour can go well on any build to be fair! Just some choices are more synergetic. A tiger barbarian with Misty step can go reduce enemy’s movement speed to 0 with Wolverine aspect + tiger cleave
But in general yeah the cleric has mobility issues but they can also be pretty durable too. Depends on your team composition!
Stormy Clamor has so many viable builds. One of the most powerful builds in the game is Spirit Guardians + Belligerent Skies + Stormy Clamor.
@@Longshot-qv8is agreed! Throw in 5 levels of Paladin for 2 divine smites and you can stack 6 radiating orbs per smite too
I could argue that stormy clamor might be the most powerful in the game. You forgot to mention radiating orb builds (condition) which is where these boots really shine
Oh totally! I should’ve went in detail about radiating orb but I figured most people didn’t know that ability drain triggers it as well. Radiating orb builds are crazy powerful and with adamantine shield it’s unstoppable
The boots of very fast blinking are very useful if you intend to rob every single vault in the Counting House, as it lets you move past all the gates and wards without using any spell slots.
The Boots of Stormy Clamor are essential if you want to use the exploit to let you deal infinite damage without using any of your actions or bonus actions.
Oh nice!! I didn’t even think about robbing the counting house.
Stormy clamour are so powerful and yeah there is also that exploit. Ahahah
Plenty of boots in the game that are just slightly better than nothing.
Yeah a lot have minor benefits like +1 acrobatics
But there’s some that offer utility, less that chest, gloves or head gear but they can help round out a build
@@JasonDunna I still use them until something better comes along.
These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do!
Unless they get you Misty Step I guess
@@pedroyuuhi bahahahahahah I was trying to think of a good intro and I should’ve started with that!! Legit just made me laugh out loud
Misty step is seriously so good. Sorry Nere 💥
You can equip items on your hotbars so the boots that give you a bonus can be swapped out instantly like the featherfall boots
That’s a really good point thanks for sharing that!
@@JasonDunna I do it constantly with the bracers of defense and the gloves of thievery
These boots have seen everything...
Hahahaha I need to reach out to you guys to come up with funny intros
the boots of very fast blinking have one slight issue though, the leave your clothing behind
RIGHT. Okay they’re RP tier I forgot about that since you get them so late and won’t really use them
It’s also at will Misty step so maybe I’ll come up with a funky build for them 😂
They aren't great in combat, but are wonderful for utility when not in turn based mode. You can unequip your armor and clothing before misty stepping and then put them back on again afterwards.
I always like to use them on Astarion in the Counting House to let him easily access and lockpick every single vault.
great video as always! Next list...ranking the best builds?
Solid idea and it is in the works! Thank you
Feign Death is pretty useless in tabletop, too, fwiw.
Figured as much hahaha. Just feel better to do almost any action
Stormy Clamor and Nightwalkers, my beloved. I have a soft spot for the space hunt boots. They're cute, dead useful, and changing them after use during their cycle before a long rest helps my Barbies Gate 3 outfit strategizing feel more immersive and challenging in a good way. Iron Throne aside, there have been some fights where dimension door came in clutch (Ethel Round 2), but I could be nostalgic because killing that damn dwarf was the first thing I did in my first playthrough that got to Lower City, so I had those babies forever and they gave my lil ranger access to a big girl spell. Definitely handy for the first run in Lower City where many encounters were surprises (saving Volo, Ansur, ambush to the Bhaal temple, tbh most Bhaalist bullshit, mechanics of the Cazador fight even tho I knew we'd kill him, etc).
I know you've already made all these tier lists (and they are super helpful), but any chance on having the name of the one you're talking about on the screen somewhere? I don't know them well enough to just go by the pictures :(
I know that was a tricky challenge I ran into with this one since there’s 36 boots and you can’t get them all in a single playthrough
If I had more time in my schedule I’d make time stamps but the subtitles/ closed captions work pretty well to get the names
@@JasonDunna yeah. Makes sense. There's never enough time :(
Dimension door is good for when you find Volo in ACT 3. Putting on the boots is quicker than respecing, but i did not look to see how difficult it is to find the boots
You kill the dwarf at the wine festival or at Figaro's shop if he runs off there.
Nere's boots are actually really good! I definitely think they're S Tier. Misty step for free?! Say what you want, Nere's got taste.
I think the Lightning charges set, so the boots, the crown, the shield, the staff are all underrated! I think using lightning charges + reverberation + magic missile + the bhaalist armour to add more conditions on the target.
Spacehunt boots can really *save* your Iron Throne run, it makes it so much easier so you don't have to use Omelumm and his weird blink teleport to submersible.
Momentum is also underrated! If you use dash in battle then you just keep gaining stacks! It happened once that gale got over 40m of movement speed from the momentum. But the ones that make it so you simply start the turn with momentum are just a wway better version. I don't remember if those are boots or if it's a helmet-
BOOTS OF SPEED. FIRST OF ALL. CLICK HEELS, IT'S CUNNING ACTION DASH *FOR FREE* ON CHARACTERS WHO AREN'T ROGUES. SECOND OF ALL, THEY'RE THE MOST OP BOOTS IN BG2. (boot01 if you're looking for the code, since I can definitely understand not wanting to play bg2 when the characters move as slow as a snail. At least in planescape you can run ffs)
Space hunt boots are a MUST during the iron throne!!
I need to run a lightning charges build again and see what I can do
@@JasonDunna oh! Thanks man that's awesome! I'm still trying to figure out how the reverberation works exactly, it turns out that with the controller it's harder to find any types of effects on the enemies and on yourself--I'm sure that with time though, and maybe a little bit of googling I'll get it to work!
Oops my comments got messed up - I usually post my tier list videos and go for a run and reply to comments during my rest hahaha
Nere's boost pretty much always are equipped until late game. Such a good iterm to get early game!
Gale with 40m of movement speed is hilarious. He probably learned how to do that everytime he upset Mystra, because there's no way our 8 strength Gale is running 40m in Wizard robes 😂😂
Boots of speed are awesome for how early you get them in the game too! Also didn't realize they're a BG2 item!! I need them, I just died in my BG2 run. I might roll a new character, what class would you recommend to someone who sucks at BG2?? Sorcerer was way too confusing because it doesn't actually scale on any stat
@@JasonDunna Oh dude, the most powerful is certainly a Kensai dualclassed into a Mage! Plain mage, since the other mages are simply not as powerful. If you want a very straightforward way to play, fighters are actually quite strong. Thieves are actually really rare to get in BG2, so if you want to have consistent thieving abilities, you can always make Charname your thief!
Clerics are fun, since you get the ability to cast priest scrolls and stuff, but honestly, if you want a straight forward way to play, it's Fighter or Thief, or maybe both, and if you want a more complicated yet, most meta, then go with the Kensai Mage.
If you want the build for it then start as a kensai, at level 7, you have to dual class, (not multiclass) into mage. (You have to be a human to dualclass, but it's worth it.)
So, next playthrough, a Kensai/Mage might just be the build for you!
And if not, a fighter or a thief are both excellent choices as well! Hope this helps!!
PAH GALE WITH 40M OF MOVEMENT SPEED. IT WASN'T EVEN IN THE IRON THRONE IT WAS IN LIKE. RANDOM FIGHTS TO SAVE VOLO AND STUFF LMAOO
I always wear nere's boots until *maybe* the spacehunt boots
One thing I don't like about any boots that won't allow you to be forcefully moved is I can't dimension door them in lol
You can’t use dimension door with those boots??
The Boots of Very Fast Blinking has one little drawback…
Or a positive depending on how you look at it 😂
Battle master manneuvre ranking when king?
What about the shoes Scratch brings us?
Clearly S tier ;)
S tier because scratch is goodest boy!!
How do I get those bard boots?
@@FelipeArthurferpa they’re in the Gauntlet of Shar a bit past Yurgir’s fight
first but will be back when sober
@@GolompReformed hahahah have a good time!! The video will be here for you
Commenting in case you forgot that you commented on this video so that you get a notification so that you remember that you commented on this video so that you can watch it when you’re sober.
@@SuggonDeezNutzzz Thank you, came back sober, and watched video. Holy shit there is so many boots comparing to other items :D
But which boots make Shadowheart's feet smell the best?
No boots let the dogs out
It is well known that the best footwear for Shadowheart is barefoot.
Or boots of very fast blinking
So true bestie
