Thanks for the video. I can see this guy did a good job and took him time but knowing dealerships where i live i will not be buying this kit seeing how much drilling is involved. Your car looks great and you're lucky to score a good tradesman to work on it.
My friend, do you really think Mazda would sell original accessories that ruin your car? The parts where there has to be drilled in are plastic and even easy replaceable if needed ;-) So no metal involved and no rust.
No, I mean the drilling you do into the metal. Now water can get into the inside of the metal and I doubt that you sealed the inside of the car with wax afterwards.
Second time, there is not drilled into any metal ;-) all plastic. the original side below is plastic and you put the extra plastic on it. No metal is touched.
Oh, now I understand. I'm sorry, I was in a hurry and English isn't my native language. Does Mazda only sell those extras separately or are there Miatas that come with those from the factory?
No problem ;-) These parts are accessories and not fitted in Japan but you have special versions in the Uk for example where they are already mounted on the car when you buy it. In that case they are are already prepared by Mazda UK and not at the dealership.
+Austin R. You can see some more from the same setup in our previous video when we did a test drive at Mazda. Before i ordered one.. :-) Here you are.. ua-cam.com/video/mQD4PYsiJLQ/v-deo.html
At 4:32 you show the installation of the OEM rear spoiler, but I noticed that you're not using the holes/bolts that the spoiler comes with, but rather, some kind of epoxy and the sticky tape to hold it on. Is there a reason for not using the bolts/screws?
We did not want to drill into the trunk. that's all.. the tape is also original on the spoiler. Lucky we did not, at this time there is a different kind of spoiler on the car.. (had to drill for that one but it is much bigger so that was needed.)
so much stuff for the miatas already. seems cheaper to get a base model and just spending the saved money on real wheels, wilwood bbk, buy the lsd separate and intake header exhaust
MagicAyrtonforever 😂 first, the bastuck exhaust is a original Mazda part and supposed to cut this way in Mazda’s manual. Second, works perfect already for 3 years... Third, so just relax 😉
18 or 19" alloys on an MX5, 😱 that would just spoil the car in my opinion. Looks just right with the standard 17" wheels, although I personally would like the Mazda BBS 17" alloys, but there not available in the UK sadly. I hope the videos keep coming, it's keeping me sane, until my car arrives in March 2016.
clean, tasteful mods, carefully installed. I cringed a little at the sight of body panels being drilled through, but I guess longevity is not the goal here.
+Abhinav Mehra Hi there, well, i would suggest, just try the car at a local dealer because it depends not only on how big you are... arms, legs, body, it all can make a difference. We have bigger guys in are club that drive the Miata.
+jeanculasek86 BBS rims, Brembo brakes are not available in our country so i cannot answer you.. Bastuck exhaust depends on the country.. prices from 800-1000 €
+Elie Nehme they dont. I bought one yesterday and asked about the kit. The salesman said not to cause they put it on with double sided tape as thats what mazda wants them to do. not worth the $2500 extra
+Sunal Nand Congratulations with you new ride, sad to hear about the dealer.... but a part is with double sided tape.. maybe the salesman does not now exactly what he was talking about.. I would suggest, show them the video ;-)
Miatafun i guess the salesman does not know what he is talking about. any bump hit will take off the skirts or lip. here in my country (lebanon) the mazda dealer is known to be professional worker but i haven't asked about this.
+Elie Nehme +Miatafun thanks guys cant wait to get it (the 2.0L dsnt arrive in australia till march-april) The dealers are professional but going from what the salesman said its not there fault. thats what mazda from japan have asked them to do. so they have to go off there specs and regulations (not sure if its an Australian only thing or worldwide)
+Daniel Lobo no problem at all mate :-) the car is original 15-16 cm from the ground, the aero kit does not go lower... even after lowering the car there is 12 cm space.. no problem for speed bumps etc at all.
I have the club and I hope mine was done the same way in case I want to change it, if there are a couple big holes I’m stuck with it unless an aftermarket one uses those same holes.
For peace of mind I'd want to have it drilled. Wouldn't want to spend 400 euro on a strip of plastic and have it fly off on a motorway. Regardless, it's a nice kit, I'm in the process of fitting it also one piece at a time (front lip added recently). But I will opt for the zymexx dragon wing next over the mazda lip. I feel the lip doesn't add anything to the car aesthetically for the price. It needs a bit more aggression.
Looks fantastic, am I right in thinking the rear boot spoiler was only glued on and not bolted, I guess you didn't want to drill holes in the metal? The alcantara interior looks brilliant as well, nice to see the video showing the various process to remove and then fit the various panels. Look forward to the next video. Thank you.
+Paul Jenkins Thank you very much and glad you like the video!. About the spoiler, yes, the first thing i said was "no holes in the metal please, just glue it " :-)
Miatafun The rear quater panel used to be made out of 1 piece on older MX5. It seems like they solved this, since alot of mx5 died after they started rusting down there.
Can anyone advise; the original vehicle must be a 2015 Soul red metallic model, going by the video timestamp, but the later night-time photos seem to show the 2017 (and newer) Soul red metallic 'crystal' paint option? Are these the same car photos or two different model years?
It really looks very fantastic! :) Congrats on your great accomplishment! You should think now about 18" or even 19" wheels for it! ;) But I hope the Alcantara pack won't be a problem for you in cleaning it due to dust ...
If you special factory order a car thru the dealership, can you get the alcantara added in right from the assembly line or is that something that has to be installed at the dealer?

Carlos Suarez mmmmm Some have it because of that the adhesive tape does not hold.. Reason.. mounted to cold? Not cleaned? Anyway.. there should not be a gap.

I have a question about the door inserts, when buying them do you get a pair or have to buy 1 per side. Many websites have them listed but don’t specify right or left door.
Did you buy the rest of the kit through your dealer? The only place I have found that seems to sell it is Rev9 (I'm in the US.) Through them it's about $1K or so for the rear and side trims.
Hi there Maurice, Over here in Europe we can order the whole kit at our Mazda dealer (original Mazda parts) Kit (front, rear, side and trunk) price in Belgium is 1440€ mounted on the car.
Hi again, how are you getting on with the great looking ND, how are you finding the Recaro's, are they comfortable? Brother and I are hoping to be getting the Sport Recaro in March 2016, although neither of us like the wheels that come on that model, we will probably use them for winter wheels and get the same wheel as you have on yours. Look forward to more of your videos, as you may understand, March seems a long way off, and your videos will keep the wait bearable.
+Paul Jenkins Hi Paul, By now i did the first oil change at 1050 km :-) The car is so great! The recaro seats sit so good, just perfect.. Driving on the highway with the roof down at 130km/u at 12°c feels even great... not cold at all :-) The winter wheel idea is a good one and thx for liking my wheels :-) My Miata stays in the garage in winter. I completely understand you watching the videos while waiting for March :-) I would do the same.. New video coming up painting the brake claws.. (Did not like the silver color on the red-black car)
How many service hours would you say this job would take at the dealership or a shop?(putting in the alcantara peices that is) Not like the actual time it'll take you guys/mechanics in general to do, but like a guesstimate of how much I'd be charged service hours-wise.
Plan to get the front air dam installed on my sports model, how secure and sturdy is the rear end spoiler? I noticed it sticks on by some adhesive. All it takes is good hand eye coordination for the install correct? Nice video btw.
As of 2021, the front air dam and trunk spoiler come STANDARD on the Club trim while the rear piece and side skirts come STANDARD on the Club trim w/ the $4,700 BBS wheels/Brembo brake/Recaro seats option. The complete aero kit can be added as an option for about $800 on any Sport or GT trim, or you can have the rear splitter and skirts put on the non $4,700 option Club for around $500-600. Some were able to negotiate having the aero kit installed for free when they bought it. If you get the soul red crystal RF (retractable fastback) AND the $4,700 option it pushes the cost of this vehicle to almost $40k, which IMO is too much. $30k should be about right.
Thanks for the video. When installing the rear spoiler, did you drill the trunk lid and bolt the spoiler on, or did you just use the double sided tape? Thank you.
+Ken Lau That's a good question, I cannot answer for shure but there is a chance i think. Since there is a limited 600 cars 2.0 with recaros and aero spoiler pack for the UK it can be that it can be ordered.
By the way monteren jullie ook Brembo remmen op de Mazda's MX5 model 2016 ? MVG
On the first generation Miata, all the accessories that I am aware of attached at existing attachment points. I always thought that was brilliant--no drilling required. Even the tonneau "snaps" went into existing holes--pop out the little plastic pips and screw in the snaps. It's very disappointing to see all this drilling. Now if you change your mind and remove an accessory, you have big holes in the body. Bummer!
@@taoh3473 ok my friend, here is a link to some kind of the same plugs... and really, the tool we use for it ;-) It's in fact a tool for plasterboard plugs :-) www.hubo.be/nl/p/kreator-krt619001-pluggentang-voor-holle-wand/520377.html
+Industen Yes you can, in that case you have to fix the plug first with turning the screw. But i noticed that the plugs are almost the same as metal gyproc plugs and with that tool it is much faster to fix the plugs.. Example how the plugs look like diy.stackexchange.com/questions/20676/how-can-i-remove-plaster-board-drywall-rawl-plugs
Miatafun - Naviwax thank you! I went to my mazda dealer to install the aero kit, which I already own. They tried to charge me ~€650 for 12 hours to install. I flipped. I got an offer from a less thievish dealer to install it in 3.6 work hours. I’m going over there tomorrow.
Miatafun - Naviwax hi again! I have another question, if you could help me out again. So, I got a fair deal at another mazda dealer and I took my RF in to have the aero kit installed yesterday. Today I noticed the boot lid lip is not perfectly positioned. It’s about a mm to the left and the left end hangs over the end of the lid by about a mm and the right end is on top of the lid by about a mm. Can the boot lip be repositioned? Because, I called, and the mechanics there basically told me I’d have to live with it.
@@Nikola85ZgCRO I think this is nothing abnormal, a mm is nothing in the car world.. But if you want to be shure send me some pictures what you mean exactly ... info@miatafun.be
He should have removed the rear badges and painted the front and rear Mazda logos in body color. Swap out the long antenna for a 12” one. The work shown here is expertly done, but the Mazda parts are horrifically expensive. (See below.) The winter wheel idea is a good one and thx for liking my wheels :-) My Miata stays in the garage in winter.
I completely understand you watching the videos while waiting for March :-) I would do the same..
New video coming up painting the brake claws.. (Did not like the silver color on the red-black car)
How many service hours would you say this job would take at the dealership or a shop?(putting in the alcantara peices that is) Not like the actual time it'll take you guys/mechanics in general to do, but like a guesstimate of how much I'd be charged service hours-wise.
about 1 day
Plan to get the front air dam installed on my sports model, how secure and sturdy is the rear end spoiler? I noticed it sticks on by some adhesive. All it takes is good hand eye coordination for the install correct? Nice video btw.
Hi CB, do you mean the trunk spoiler?
Hello there, yes the trunk spoiler, it is 3m adhesive? I plan to get one for my ND.
It is supposed to be drilled and with 3m but we did not want to drill in the aluminum so we used glue (window kit) to fix the spoiler on the trunk.
Hi what kind of glue did you use to fix spoiler?
Andre Grave the glue they use for windows on cars
Geweldige auto!
How much did it cost to get all these accessories?
to long ago, don't know any more, already 5 years.. :-)
As of 2021, the front air dam and trunk spoiler come STANDARD on the Club trim while the rear piece and side skirts come STANDARD on the Club trim w/ the $4,700 BBS wheels/Brembo brake/Recaro
seats option. $30k should be about right.
do they have that aero package in the U.S also
+Christian Ganan Sorry, don't know so far.. I suggest, show your Mazda dealer the video and ask him. In Europa these are original Mazda parts.
+Christian Ganan Its available from the factory and I know a dealership in VA is selling all of these parts online, the Alcantara and the aero bits
Is that fire comming out the scape?
+Miguel Carrillo no no :-) looks like it but was the sunlight in the condensation
Thanks for the video. When installing the rear spoiler, did you drill the trunk lid and bolt the spoiler on, or did you just use the double sided tape? Thank you.
we did not drill no... used glue to fix car windows.
Wouldn't fingerprints stick on exhaust?
Why would they? you work on a car when everything is cold he :-)
They have Alcantara interior pack for LHD cars too? I thought Mazdaspeed only provides RHD ones.
TIA!
+Ken Lau That's a good question, I cannot answer for shure but there is a chance i think. Since there is a limited 600 cars 2.0 with recaros and aero spoiler pack for the UK it can be that it can be ordered.
nice videos.. why the stupid music.!!!!!!!
Bummer!
I thought my screen is broken because of that point jumping around at the beginning
Steve Bee lol, you are not the first. 😂
I don't understand what you did for side skirts, did you rivet the underneatg ? And what for ?
Only Mazda procedure my friend.. manual included..
Miatafun - Naviwax but i would to know what is it for ?
Cause i would like to buy the kit but i dont have rivet machine
@@taoh3473 ok my friend, here is a link to some kind of the same plugs... and really, the tool we use for it ;-)
It's in fact a tool for plasterboard plugs :-)
www.hubo.be/nl/p/kreator-krt619001-pluggentang-voor-holle-wand/520377.html

price for the customs?
Don’t know.. only selling Europe it seems
can you leave a link where they bought the muffler, bumper, spoiler etc for your mx5
every Mazda dealer in Europe
hello and plz reply do you think i can but bluetooth touchscreen and upgrade the interior on a older version of a miata like a 03 around there
You can try but i don't think it will fit
Do you have pics of the Miata?
+NJ Zuniga send your contacts to info@miatafun.be . So i can find you on facebook. a lot of pictures..
where do i purchase the alcantara package?? never seen it as an option when i bought the 19 ND
In Europe this is available at the dealers.
Does the alcantara pack come with the upper door panel that’s body color?
that's stock
only the alcantara part, the color is stock and does not change.
What is happening at 7:33. Can you install this with basic tools?
+Industen Yes you can, in that case you have to fix the plug first with turning the screw. But i noticed that the plugs are almost the same as metal gyproc plugs and with that tool it is much faster to fix the plugs..
Example how the plugs look like diy.stackexchange.com/questions/20676/how-can-i-remove-plaster-board-drywall-rawl-plugs
+Miatafun
Oh I see. I take it these come with the kit? Thanks so much.
Industen The plugs are included with the kit yes.
How long did it take you to install the aero kit?
about 3 hours.
@@Nikola85ZgCRO 12 hours ?? OMG maybe the mechanic there has two left hands :-)
4 hours is a fair price.
But if you want to be shure send me some pictures what you mean exactly ... info@miatafun.be
What kind of price tag for the mods shown?
Very nice job. That Bastuck didn't really do any good though... Sounds a bit to restricted for a sports exhaust
Sounds a bit louder after a few thousand... but not much... It looks more stylish anyway compared to the original 1mm sized end tips.
Miatafun now I fitted the BBK. It sounds fantastic 😃 it really gives the car the extra edge it needed 👍
Thx fro the info Morten Berg!
Do you need to drill holes to fit the Aero kit?
Made In Machines Yes, but no worries, these parts are all plastic.
Wow what a great Fun ,say I will have Miata speziale !
He should have removed the rear badges and painted the front and rear Mazda logos in body color. Swap out the long antenna for a 12” one. The work shown here is expertly done, but the Mazda parts are horrifically expensive. (See below.) I ended up going with a bare-bones 2019 Sport in black and I think it looks less cluttered and more badass.
In case you were wondering, here is a price sampling of Mazda cosmetic accessories . . .
Aero kit $375
Front air dam $375
Rear lip spoiler $350
Red oil filler cap $80
Side sill extensions $400
Splash guards (each) $150
John Richards keep in mind that this was October 2015 ;-) almost nothing available at that time.. not even lowering springs or smaller antenna..
The cars were just released.
Miatafun, but even now on 30th anniversary model Mazda still install that horrible antena, why? They don’t really care about customers opinion???
@@marcio_de_oliveira true.... i ordered now a very small stubby antenna... soon there will be a video when i have the 30th anni..
There are more stupid things.... rear brakes not fully painted orange...
Front and rear brake disks are different colors..... grey versus black...
All stuff to change..
Hello, is this gap ua-cam.com/video/kprM0Q0yxv0/v-deo.html normal on mazdaspeed sideskirts? i just installed mine, and was looking for an answer! Would appriciate your response
Yes, they have it all
@@LKGSolutions Thanks!
how can I get or purchase for the alcantara pack?
At the local Mazda dealer. These are original Mazda parts.
not in Taiwan, we are unable to get these alcantara parts from Mazda Taiwan.
perhaps I will have to order them from your country or abroad?
that is possible i think.
Hi! is it still possible to order the car with Recaro seat in Belgium (to plug the recaro pack:-)
No, not possible anymore since november 2015
Thank you ! :-((
beautiful job, and confident..... but am I colour blind. they say it is red but I see maroon.......
Where did you order the Alcantara pack?
You can order it at every european dealer
bella!!!
how much just for aero kit?
Over here 1440€ fitted on the car
Miatafun - Naviwax where are you from ? UK ?
And how many hours can you mount it ?
Looks nice however, that's a lot of hole drilling and a lot of potential corrosion spots.
Again, already posted :-) it's all plastic and not metal ;-)
Miatafun. Well that's good news - many thanks!
von Coconut You're welcome ;-)
Mx5miataaerospoilerkit
Would have been useful to stop the godawful music at the point we got to hear the Bastuck exhaust maybe?
If you take a look to other other videos on our channel you would find a small video with only that sound ;-)
For the other part.. don't like it? there is on every device a thing called a mute button ;-)
nice :)
Did you also install Air Deflector p/n N243-V4-990? Some websites say this is required.
No, and did not had any problems at all
I hate Alcantera, it looks great new... And after its touched by a living thing its garbage forever.
Looks good brand new tho, no lie... Nice work.
lol.. after a few years still new here, think it's the person who uses it :-)
Where do I get this rear spoiler?
Orimar Dez contact us at info@naviwax.be
it's original at the Mazda dealerships to order in Europe
