SOLVED Suzuki King Quad stalling issue
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 кві 2021
- The ATV would stall when pressing the 4wd switch, turning on the lights, or switching to and from the high beams.
Solution was to install a secondary ground cable from either the battery to the frame, or from the engine to the frame...
Hell yeah been chasing this problem for 6 years ,fan ,lights or 4wd would stall engine .ran new ground like you showed . No more stalling Thanks
SameCory
Glad it helped ya! 🤘🏻
What a great video straight to the point and fixed my problem. I hope you make more videos on repairs. You saved me countless hours/ and money working on my atv
Thank you for the kind words, and I’m glad I could help! There’s a thousand videos I wish I had made…
Had the EXACT same problem. Also stalled idling when hot. This fixed both problems. Running great now. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
You’re very welcome! I should really post more of these videos because I fix weird stuff like this every day 😅
I bought a new 05 KQ 700 and struggled to fix this problem for 10 years!!!, spent a couple thousand on parts and 3 different shops. Never could fix it. Should have replaced the battery terminals and worked more with grounding. Sold that bike and bought a 2017 KQ 750, after owning a year it started doing the exact same thing. I was able to fix by just cleaning the battery terminals. Both my KQ have been stored in shipping containers and the humidity gets very high and causes corrosion on terminals. I had an electric golf cart stored in there for a few years and had constant electrical problems because of the high humidity.
Thank you!! It fixed my 2007 700 , you’re the man
O.O ooooh thanks you For showing this . I got problem on my vtt too I wonder why sometime are stoping working well . :) I will try if not the caburator firt and I try this metode you did ^^ thanks
Appreciate it man!
13.6? Thats pretty low. Ill give ya a tip tho. May not like the idea but it worked for me, charging at 14.5 now. Splice into the grounds coming off the recifier (dont cut them, just tap off them) and ground them straight to the battery. Also add a ground from the battery to the coil bolt.
Am facut si eu asta azi si pare sa functioneze multumesc pentru video
cu plăcere!
I have a 2014 750 King Quad bought new in 2016 it has 11300 Km’s now, it started this year doing the stalling thing, I seen your editorial but tried cleaning the ground to the motor first with “contact cleaner” by loosing the bolt first, spraying it then tighten it up, had the quad out a few times now, no issues, but if it starts stalling again I will try your method, thanks.
Good luck!
Good job
Thanks for this
I was hoping it would help someone 😅
I tried this fix and it seemed to work, thanks for sharing! but when I was cleaning up I noticed my bike was stuck in 4wd and as I rewatched your video it appears you have the same problem. when you push the red 4wd button it switched to 4wd but when you hit it again it stayed in 4wd when you turned your bike off. Did you notice this issue? if so what did you do to fix it? thanks
@SameCory DifferentDay ^^^
Anybody else have this problem?
I have not come across an issue like this but good luck!
@@samecorydifferentday5014 hmm, Ok I must be seeing things wrong. Anyways, it is not a big deal. Grounding from the engine block to the frame did work and my machine is not stalling anymore. which is fantastic in itself! thanks for the tip
I rebuild my top end and after it would stall when the fan turn on or switching in and out of 4x4, did the wiring like this video shows fix my problem, thanks for the help
You are very welcome, thank you for taking the time to reach out!
Cleaned my tank and lines still don’t want to run like it’s not getting enough gas just quits
Hello friend! I have the same problem but i dont understand where the ground does, sorry im whit english could you explain how to fix it?
I have a 400 2020 it losing power and don’t want to run
We’re is the tip over sensor on this atvs mine it’s giving me a c41 code but I can jump the relay and it works fine I’m trying to find it an test it.
It's behind the airbox
Any idea on how to fix the eps my light stays on
What gauge wire did you use for the second ground? I have a King Quad with the same issue.
I would recommend using a wire similar gauge to the factory battery cable. Good luck!
I used an 8 gauge wire and it worked great.
Hello, I'm from Brazil, I have a Suzuki King Quad 750AXI and it has problems with failure when I put it in reverse on steep hills, it starts to fail and only works at idle, if you accelerate more than 1/3 of the throttle he fails a lot. Do you think it could be a sensor? can you help me?
Does it have an “override” button by your left thumb? If so, you have to press that while in reverse to get more RPMs.
@@samecorydifferentday5014 ok I understand, my quad bike has this override button" but I didn't know what it was for or what it was for... 😓😂😂I'll test it tomorrow and get back to you if this is the solution or not, thanks for now!...🤝👍
@@samecorydifferentday5014 Hello my friend, I tested the override button and it worked, I'm adapting to the Suzuki King Quad 750 AXI 2009, it's a monster of power and every day I like it more... thank you very much for your tip .
I have a 2005 Suzuki KingQuad 700 and it won't start and I need help, so if you could, please tell me what to do. so alright, I wait for the fuel injection to finish its job and so i press the start button. it cranks, but somehow poorly and my fuel injection interrupts me as if i never let it finish. then the battery starts clicking. I checked the fuses, thery're ok! by battery is fairly new! i have almost a full tank of gas! I don't know what to do here, i am simply stumped.
another issue i had earlier is it sometimes turns off on me due to overheating. is this a radiator problem? why is it overheating? it wouldn't constantly turn off it ran fine but even after not driving it that hard it would overheat.
please help me adress there issues. I need some advice. thanks.
Have you tried running a ground cable from the chassis to the engine as shown in the video? Give that a shot and good luck!
@@samecorydifferentday5014 thanks! i'll try!
will this work on my 2014 king quad 750?
Worth a shot!
What tires are those?
Looks like Interco Reptiles 👍🏻
I have a 2011 king quad that will run fine for about a hour or 2 then will stall out and shut off and not start again for a day or so…it’s really weird..then after a while sitting it’ll fire back up and run again fine for a hour or so and shut off again. Anyone have this problem and know what it is? Thanks
So first you have to determine if you’re losing spark or fuel. If it’s fuel I would suspect the carb bowl vent and/or gas tank vent hose being plugged. Fuel can’t flow out unless air can flow in to replace it! Good luck!
Mine only stalls when the fan come on could that be why ?
That’s definitely what I would guess! Good luck!
It dose not do it right away maybe after 30 are 40 mins it starts it.....new battery and rectifier.... the rectifier gets fire hot new one and old one
Same here after about 20 to 30min it starts dying. The fan kicks on when the engine dies. I will try this when I get a chance
Found out what was wrong with mine ordered a battery off eBay that has 40 less cold cranking amps than the four-wheeler required cooling fan was drawing too much of a load off of the battery should have known better than buying a battery off of eBay
Ironically it had the wrong size battery when I bought it
Hello friend! I have the same problem but i dont understand where the ground goes, sorry im bad whit english could you explain how to fix it?😢 thanks a lot!
No problem. Put a new ground from the frame to the engine. Anywhere you are able. Let me know if that helps, good luck!
