    informative and thorough video! It was very helpfull especially the part about waiting for the "click" when putting the primary back on! Who would have known that? I am handy but little details like your video has make the difference between learning and confidence vs destroying and frustration!

    to all that have had a belt disintegrate- make sure you get all the 'shrapnel' out of the cooling duct!.. and make sure the intake box isn't full of weed seeds/mouse nest.
    A plugged duct will cause the new belt to run really hot.. and you'll be doing this procedure again... SOON!

      I have one little question do you have to put grease in the primary clutch where those little round wheel weights go and do you have to put grease inside the housing of the primary clutch or that sleeve goes back in I guess that's what it's called

    • @BuyitBreakitFixit
      @BuyitBreakitFixit  6 років тому

      No grease on the weights or where the weights go. From my research, there is a small hole in the sleeve, they say to fill the hole with grease, that's it. Seems like not enough, but that's what I found on it.

      Neither. It felt like it had a stall to it, engine revs then bam, it kicks in hard. Poor transition from stand still to moving. This made a big difference in starting and out on the trail when it transitions back to a lower ratio.

    Wonder if this is the same problem as mine king, brother has a grizz and gf has a brute are touchy as hell soft touch they get going and you give the same touch to the king it just revs up and it feels like your pulling a heavy trailer when your taking off

    • @BuyitBreakitFixit
      @BuyitBreakitFixit  4 роки тому

      Not sure. I did mine because it was acting like there was a stall on it. The engine would need to rev up before the quad would move then when it did, it seemed to jump. After cleaning this, the engine didn't need to rev as much and the engaging is smoother so I figure it helped for sure. It is an easy job, might as well take it apart and clean it up, not going to hurt. Especially if you all are submerging the quad in mud or water.

    Hey man hoping you could help if your still active Everytime i get water up to my rear the it struggles to switch gears I can get up to 10Mph on my 500AXI but not faster the rpm revs but no luck. then with sometime like a day or two it starts to drive fine. U think water is getting in? And if so how bad is that

    • @BuyitBreakitFixit
      @BuyitBreakitFixit  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, it does sound like you are getting water on the belt. take the side cover off and check the gasket. mine is done and needs to be replaced. on the inside piece that the cover screws onto, there are grommet screw holes and mine came out and will not seal anymore. I think there is a drain somewhere back there too. Check to make sure it is not going bad and letting water in. I would also check the routing of the plastic tubing and make sure it is all tight too. Hope this helps you out. I know how it is to have your quad not running the best. try those things and I will research it a little more for you. Let me know how it goes. There is a website for these, not sure if you know about it. Here is a link, check it out. Thanks for checking out my video.

      @@BuyitBreakitFixit Actually no it's a CVT drive, it has a CVT drive belt and transmission pulleys and at no time does the drive belt disengage or slip unless it's worn out. I see a lot of UA-camrs referring to it is a clutch belt probably confusing it with a clutch drive belt on a go-kart or lawnmower for instance where the belt disengages from the drive by mechanically loosening the belt tension.

    • @BuyitBreakitFixit
      @BuyitBreakitFixit  Рік тому

      @pdevonport doesn't it slip constantly until throttle is applied and it flexes and finally grabs and provides motion to the pulley for the rear end? Or as soon as you put it into a gear, it would start moving to the comparable throttle.

It sounds like a door creeking and the back end squats down and the bike barley moves while im giving 2k rps. Once pops in it drives perfectly normal. When i go from high its also normal. • @GUS_MISSY
      @GUS_MISSY 3 роки тому

      it is because you are braking when you come to a stop before you shift, it just drives the belt deeper into the sheeves, perfectly normal, they all do it. Try and coast to a stop or gently brakeing and you will notice that you wont hear the squeek

    • @BuyitBreakitFixit

      Are you using an impact gun to try and get it off? Is the primary the front? If so you can put the cage back on and use a bolt to go through a hole on the primary and the cage will hold it from spinning. There are a couple holes in the outer that will take a bolt.

      Could be the head gasket. Is there any water on the plug or coming out of the exhaust? If head gasket is suspect, you can do a compression test on the cylinder. If it leaks down, you know its the head gasket. If not then you might have a crack in the inside case.
