Yea, even though I don't care for Jack.... leaving her to go live with another woman (WHILE they were still married), I did love the banter between them
Jack Klugman has summed up marriage very nicely. When we're dating, we're so interested in our prospective mate - so pretty, so handsome, so interesting. But after the newness wears off it's just one day after the next. I guess the solution is to be in Gee Whiz Mode every day.
H/H match update for episode 1323: ... ~~~Today's action: Not sure if today sets a record for the most fooling around during a single game, but it's got to be close! (Bill's birth announcement, all the Brett/Jack banter, CNR, Betty - the only person not really contributing is poor new girl Donna who was just playing the game, and doing a decent job of it.) Anyway, the game took forever, and I loved every moment of it! It's what makes this game show unique: the antics, the personal exchanges, the lame jokes, the general silliness. The actual game has always been simply an excuse to assemble the personalities and let the home audience get to know them. But the game did eventually play out, and the champion suffered quite a defeat. But thanks to her H/H match with Charles her first time out, she leaves with the promise of $5,700. *Today's audience match question: "________Hoo"* (My thoughts: Boo, Horton hears a*, Woo) *Spelling has never mattered here. The celebs: Brett (Hoo), Jack (Yah), Betty (Yoo) The choice: Boo The answers: Ya, Yoo, Boo - The stars got them all! A new champion starts off on the right foot. The wheel chooses Betty for the second time a row. Plus, it's a double today! Stats: Betty's most recent attempt was 1322. She's matched 8 of her past 16 (50.0%) and she's matched 23 of her 48 H/H questions overall (47.9%). This is now Betty's 49th attempt. She's answered more H/H questions than anyone other than the three regulars. *Today's H/H question: "Magnetic_**______* (Energy or Personality? One of those, I would guess. Sigh. I'll say personality.) Neither Betty nor the new champion looks like she's got a sudden inspiration. Both seem to be considering the options. The champion really doesn't seem to have decided yet. Betty writes something short and files it, but doesn't look super confident. A bit of a pause when Gene asks for her answer. Oh no, she doesn't have an answer. Champions do draw a blank quite a bit, actually. "Staple" she says. That's too bad. Classy Betty attempts to make some sense of the contestant's answer before saying it was a hard question. Her answer? "Tape." Meh. Gene tosses out "Magnetic North." Meh plus. Hah! Mr. Jack Klugman had my answer, Magnetic Personality! No H/H match this time. ~~~Here's our updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she or he has "retired" from the show and their H/H stats are now complete.) She called on three celebs: Brett (Hoo), Jack (Yah), Betty (Yoo). She sort of jumped the gun in calling on Betty, so Gene wasn't ready and didn't aim the microphone at her, but you can still faintly hear her and you can read her lips as she calls on Betty who can be heard quickly answering "Yoo" before the camera even cuts to her (in fact, the camera never does get to her in this segment). Maybe the cameraman didn't hear Betty's name either... Anyway, Gene recaps all three celebrity suggestions. ~~~ Edit: When the answers were revealed, things had been straightened out, and Betty got credit for her answer from Gene and the usual camera time...
after that little back and forth tirade with Brett and Jack, and Charles said where am I , I was dying laughing
I love the banter between Jack and Brett. This is my favorite week of Match Game! :)

I want a Match Game sweater! 😃
Do i have to remind people this is a 45 year old show ??
Match Game Productions needs to open a merchandise store and sell stuff with the Match Game logo. Licensing would cost a fortune, I'm sure.
You can probably make one at home now. Don't they have some app for that?
I miss Roy Rogers Restaurants.
The contestant who was looking for work at a studio seemed likely to succeed. She looked like she had a knack for it
Interesting observation.
$5,700 in 1978 is about $22,000 in today's money.
Thank you! Really enjoy The personalities... love Jack Klugman on this particular series.🙂🙂
Nowadays: "Woo" Hoo 😁
Money doesn't buy happiness
Magnetic personality
Magnetic pole

Jack suffers intermittent baldness lol
Charles too.
Charles would have played an excellent Beast character.
So now they have Brett read the question the second time to give her more camera time and so Gene doesn't have to read it again...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
in the super match game the contestant only asked two people she should've been able to ask someone else

This was an eye-candy show for guys!
first time I've seen Jack K. without a hairpiece .
9:13 What did Charles meant when he said The old Brett Sommers?
Give Jack Klugman a box of Rice-A-Roni and tell 'im to shut up. (lol)
I agree, but the lol was't necessary
Magnetic "Field" 🧲
ROFL! Another fine episode! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Charles! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Betty! Nice to see you both cracking up! ;0)
Another pompous entrance by Gene, the “STAR”.
I tried to get into the odd couple but I just found it pretty boring
I agree. Boring storyline and obnoxious characters.
But the theme song was iconic
