  • Once a year, an Olympic flame is lit in Brazil announcing the opening of the Indigenous Games, the Games of the Amazon. This year, the event takes place in Porto Seguro, with 800 athletes from 30 different indigenous groups competing in traditional sports such as spear throwing, archery, and pirogue racing.
Meet the Matis people, also called the Jaguar Men for their cat adornments, who travel 6000 kilometers across Brazil to give a blowpipe demonstration and participate in a bow and arrow competition. More than just a sports event, this trip will be the opportunity for them to leave their village and see the ocean for the first time.
