@@adnyc82 The colonisation works rather well for the indigenous who have their own republics with their own local laws. Probably this is the reason they vote in the high 90% for United Russia Party. If they were independent countries 3 of the 15 republics would be extremely wealthy while the others destitute. From Moscow the wealth is distributed more evenly.

So even if they have mixed with Slavs to a point of complete dissolution, they'd rather be identified as indigenous people. And on top of that we have no segregation, racial segregation etc.

Depends where. The Koryaks in the north of the Kamchatka peninsula have little admixture with Russians.

Good production, but really needed some maps. Like... the big city is here, the national park is here, the volcanos are here, the lake is here, etc. Maybe that's just the way my brain works, needing maps. I don't think there was a single map in the entire show.

There are beautiful trees and plants in Kamchatka. Why the nearby Sakhalin Island is almost barren?

Was that salmon price at 38:48 just slightly above a dollar per KILO?! Are actually fkn kidding me? I'd pay that much for 100g in European parts of Russia. I'm moving in!🐟🐟🐟

Nice to visit and travel, but it's a real struggle to live there. It's crazy expensive and it's isolated from the rest of Russia, with no land access, just air and sea.

Young girls in the far north do not spend their time dreaming of big city life. Even though some do leave they're usually back within two years. It is a lifestyle that is unique and big city rush and bustle is not for them.
