On a 2024 X7. On a sunny hot day I leave my garage with the A/C set to AUTO, SYNC, VERY LOW, 72 degrees and I feel comfortable driving around. Then, I park somewhere outdoors for a few hours and obviously because the car is 100+ degrees inside, I decide to precondition before getting in. I notice the precondition is done at the same AUTO, SYNC, VERY LOW, 72 degrees which for me doesn’t make sense. The A/C should start at MAX A/C in order to balance the huge difference between interior temp and set temp. Moreover with such a weak A/C system. Is there a way to do it or am I doing something wrong?.
It’s working as designed… preconditioning works to maintain that 72 degrees, if you precondition as you are getting out the car is only needing to maintain the current temperature not drastically cool. In reverse if you left, DIDNT precondition, then remembered 5 minutes before and hit precondition on your myBMW App, the car would likely have gone up a few degrees and need faster more intense cooling to hit that requested 72degrees
@@BMWofFW it doesn’t make sense to have the system try to lower the interior temp by 35+ degrees in AUTO, VERY LOW just because that was the last setting when I got out of the car. It should do it in AUTO, VERY HIGH since it is not “a few degrees” difference. For me it is a really bad design.
