About this video:
The 2024 BMW X1 is highlighted as BMW's smallest and most accessible "Sport Activity Vehicle," starting at approximately $40,000, with a fully equipped model priced at around $47,000. Despite its compact size, the X1 boasts a design that feels larger and well-proportioned, avoiding the awkward shapes seen in some competitors. Its exterior design, particularly the front grille, combines modern aesthetics with functionality, including active shutters for optimal aerodynamic efficiency, leading to the best coefficient of drag in its class. The iconic BMW headlights and aggressive front-end design ensure the X1 is instantly recognizable as part of the BMW family. This combination of style, functionality, and value challenges common perceptions of BMW as an overpriced option, positioning the X1 as an attractive choice in the competitive SUV market.

I bought a new 2024 X 1 two weeks ago. It is in the Lagoon Blue Bay Metallic and fully equipped. It is just great! Our other car is a 2022 X 3 M40i and while the X 1 is smaller it is just as comfortable and quick (almost!) as the X 3! Really, it's great looking, sweet to drive, very economical and smooth as silk to drive. The color is very attractive and lots of people comment how unusual and pretty it is. We have the 19" wheels and the handling is great. We chose the Bisque, light color interior and that makes the interior seem larger. The touch screen is really cool and the Navigation is accurate and fun to operate. Definitely one of the nicest machines we've ever owned. Because it is higher off the ground than the 330i we traded it is a great deal easier for seniors to get in and out of. There's a lot of hidden surprises! Enjoy one someday! Well worth the money!
The “P” button is the Park Button! Easy peasy! You actually did a good job. Your strength is your ability to talk/explain things without saying “uh” like most presenters. I wish you could have tested one in the snow in order to test its effectiveness/ability in the snow! I recently ordered an M version (for the misses) so pls test an M35i next, so we can live vicariously through you😁 Cheers/B👍
Thank you for the kind words! This generation doesn’t have a traditional P button and I later confirmed that the parking brake button is how you place it in park. Also, I tested the M version of the X2 and I should have the video out soon. Stay tuned!
I have a 2023 X1 MSport that I was able to order. It did take a few months to get to the US, and the wait was hard. However, it was totally worth it. I love it!
The rear seats can move back to create more than enough space. You had them in the gorward position.
Like the color ❤
I drive an X-line X1 with 18” wheels. The ride is certainly bumpier than a Venza especially on a washboard where it feels like a minor earthquake. In normal mode, it has a lag/lurch from a stop that is annoying, but in sport mode that is not really an issue. The car is quick, nimble, quiet, and roomy. The AWD is lousy maneuvering in snow. The touchscreen display has many layers and setting things up is mind boggling.
Good info
I mean wouldn’t that make the venza better because of those plus 36 mpg?
Comparing the Venza with the X1? The X1 is more comfortable, quieter, more nimble, faster, easier to get in and out of. The Venza has way better mileage, way better ride over bumps, great pick up from a stop: no lag/lurch, regular gas. So the X1 is more fun, the Venza less expensive.
BTW, the Toyota Venza AWD works better than the BMW X1 when maneuvering in snow. The BMW is poor.
@@johnbrews9724lmao ok
It needs analog climate controls because the current bmw interface is not ideal.
I always prefer physical climate controls over digital
It's a really awsome suv❤
I agree
too bad the dealers have zero inventory of X1. would buy one today but they cant get them. Sadly it looks like I will have to get the cheapo Audi Q3
They have them where I am. You could reach to them and see about getting one.
Hi! What did you end up going with? I was considering the Q3 (premium package since they have low inventory where I am) but it was far more expensive than a fully loaded X1.
I love it ,i have one❤
They’re much better than I was expecting!
Can't wait for your X2 video! hopefully a M35i
It was an M35i I tested!
Is the X3 significantly better and more comfortable than this car?
I haven’t tested yet, but I plan to soon and will upload a video.
No. I’ve moved from the X3 to the X1 M35. The interior size is comparable in the front, but bigger in the rear. The X1 is fully integrated with the BMW 9 system. The X3 is still running on older technology, presumably for the switch to all electric in late 25/26. A great SUV.
I own both, an 2024 X 1 and a fully equipped 2022 X 3 M40i and they are both great! I'm 6' and 210 and fit in with ease into the X 1. Of course there is more luggage room in the X3 and more rear leg room too. But they are both super comfortable and fun to drive. The X 1 is just a trip to play with! We love em both!
I'm 4' 10" and I'm looking to renting the X1. Hopefully, I can see over the steering wheel. LOL
You should have no problem! While it fit me, it’s going to be much more comfortable for someone smaller 🙂
I’m 4”11 and I’m buying one next week . You’ll be able to see the chairs adjust and once you turn the car off the seat pushes back for you to get out
How did you get my car?
😂 @pjmartin this would actually be so perfect for you!! I dig this color
I asked nicely 😉
You’re so tall LOL
not exactly budget, X3 cost only few thousands more nad Tesla 3 is more cheaper, i have one X1 (2024), but not recommend it, with new iDrive 9 i have million of problems
Why is it reviewers never discuss the consumables as costs of owning the car? The data is known - share the facts.
What consumables would you like to see discussed?
The P is park
I wish that were true, I promise you that it isn’t.
