Fuistes al barrio chino, pero en la plaza frente a la estación belgrano, está la ESTATUA DE LA LIBERTAD. Es original, se emplazó un mes antes que la de New York. Si.. , en Argentina, la libertad es Negra. Saludos.
Joining you in two weeks. Moving into a Palermo BNB intially but will be looking for an apartment in Villa Crespo! Great content! Has helped me plan a lot!
Villa Crespo and neighbouring Chacarita have become into this new gastronomic boom area, so in that regard you'll have plenty of places to visit in and around that neighborhood. Also the neighbourhood is well connected with the subte, train and many bus lines, so it's a great choice if you find affordable housing. Hope you have a great time in Buenos Aires!
We appreciate your content! My partner is from BA, and we visited last June. Our plan is to go back in September for her birthday. I appreciate you breaking the things to do down into neighborhoods! Hopefully we will get to explore more things in Sept. I absolutely LOVED Jardin Japones and can't wait to see it in the spring time when all the plants are in bloom.
Chanel, tu video es super completo! Lo amé 🩷 Soy argentina de Buenos Aires y hay lugares que no he ido aún. Gracias por compartir lo lindo de mi ciudad con tanto amor 🥹🩷

Hi Chanel, love your channel and the love you show for my city 🫶🏻. Just to add a couple of things, knowing it's impossible to cover this huge city in just one video, near Barrio Chino you'll find the Barrancas de Belgrano park, which is a great place to chill or even have some food from the new barrio chino shops if you order to take away. And this is a way of bringing attention to probably the biggest attraction in BA, which are its parks and squares. Almost all neighborhoods have at least one big square with park space, trees, grass and just space to walk around or sit and relax, and there are big parks not only in Palermo and Recoleta, but also in many other neighborhoods like Saavedra, Urquiza, Belgrano, Chacarita, Caballito, among others (I'll include Puerto Madero's Reserva Ecológica), and it's nice to walk around and explore these places, which often have open markets like the one you talk about in Recoleta but mainly I love them because the bring so much life to this enormous city. Hope you have a great 2024!
Hi ma'am: I just stopped to remark your post. Wow! What a great job you have done, one of the best I saw about my city, congrats to you. Not for the places you named but the times that would be spended on each one. We people who lives in Belgrano use to say that "Belgrano is a country itself", you can live an entire life without leaving this "Barrio" from toddler to elder... school, university, food, culture, medicine, shopping, banking, wandering around, night life and whatever. I even should say that is better than Palermo to live in and you still be near Palermo. The "D" subway line (green line) will get you (from Belgrano) to Palermo, Barrio Norte, Recoleta, 9th of July Ave, the Obelisc, Florida Street, Downtown, Cathedral, Plaza de Mayo, the Pink House (like US white one), Puerto Madero and one zone you missed. When you are at "Plaza de Mayo" and look to the"Cabildo", with the Pink house at your back an the Cathedral on your right you will see running at Cabildo's right the "avenida de mayo" (May Ave.) one of the most old and historic places in our city, architecture of buildings are amazing there and you'll see the most beautiful dome in our city. But most of all, if you are standing near the "Obelisco" on the "Avenida 9 de Julio" (9th of July Ave.), you will see another avenue crossing it, that will be "Avenida Corrientes" known as the street that never sleeps, full of cinemas, theaters, libraries, the oldest and better "Pizzerías" (pizza places), "Porteña" food style classic restos and most of all you could go there at 4 am and get a good, hot, full of cheese pizza slice with a tasty cold beer. Good job, I hope these help you and others. Te saluda un porteño de ley, mis respetos.
Hi Chanel! I loved your video...I live in Buenos Aires... I was born and raised here and I loved how well you described the different neighborhoods and places in Buenos Aires, I think it is still a very nice city with many things to know, a lot of culture etc..Despite the economic crisis we have now, as we have had many other times in the history of this country...but I hope we can move forward.. Do you know other parts of Argentina? I highly recommend that you also get to know other parts of the country with incredible landscapes that are so different from each other. Greetings!
Nooooo… "¡QUÉ GRANDE"...!!!!!! ¿Viste? En otro video te lo dije: "¡ARGENTINA", es el mejor país del mundo!!!!! ¡Y Buenos Aires es "Maravillosa"...!!!! ¡TE FELICITO POR TU DECISIÓN!!! 😘😘😘😘
Hi, Chanel. I think it’s important to know that the D line of Subte will be closed until march 17th (yes, like 2 and a half months due to some major renovation works). Hope this info is helpful for you and your viewers.
This is really important! I just found out today (after filming this video!) so yes, the D green line will not be available from January 8th 2024 - March (?) 2024 :(
Great video, Keep them coming... I just missed the Japanese Gardens, the Zoo, and the China town. I've been to Baires 3 times and it is never enough.... Cheers
Great video! My favorite pizzeria in BA is El Cuartito in Recoleta. I'm vegan, but downgrade to vegetarian when I travel. I never had a problem finding vegetarian food in Argentine cities. I plan on living in BA in winter (November to March) when I retire at the end of 2024, spending the rest of the year in London as I have UK citizenship. I have a question: Have prices risen much in BA since Milei devalued the official rate from 340 pesos per US$ to 800 pesos per US$? Like you, I buy my pesos at Western Union. This isn't a problem in BA, where there are hundreds of WU offices, but many Argentine cities have only a few WU's with humongous queues which can take hours to exchange money.
That sounds like an awesome plan! There is an increase in prices that we’ve noticed. For day to day grocery shopping we’ve been spending about the same as before, but when we go out to eat, we notice we’re spending more for the same food. If you’re looking for house supplies and/or technology those prices have soured significantly :/ Getting pesos at western unions in BA is still accessible!
Hey! I’m from the states, and my two friends and I are trying to go to Palermo in March for a few nights before we go to the Patagonia. But i’m just a bit concerned about safety- would you say that Buenos Aires is safe? We want to explore, of course, but also go clubbing and stuff at night. Just concerned about the political unrest (as far as what people here in the US say), and curious about your opinion! Thanks!
In Plaza de Mayo you can also learn a lot about argentinian history. At this plaza very important things happened since before Argentina was an independent country, like the Cabildo reunions to start the revolution for independence, all the gatherings were in Plaza de Mayo because the Cabildo (the white colonial building on the other side of the Plaza facing the Casa Rosada) was the goverment building back then. At the Cathedral there are the remains of the "Father of the Motherland" who is José de San Martín and that is why twice a day you can see the Granaderos a Caballo changing positions to keep on protecting his place. Every thursday the "Abuelas y Madres de Plaza de Mayo" make their walking rounds around the pyramide at the Plaza, so every thursday is also a day to go and learn more about our history and our contemporary issues.
and to add things near Plaza de Mayo, the Avenida de Mayo is a beautiful street with beautiful historical buildings annnnd the Café Tortoni which also is a must if you are for the first time in Argentina and don´t have many days to visit other "notable bars" (bares notables) of the city.
hey! hello! im a local and you totally forgot to mention the statue of liberty at barrancas de belgrano near barrio chino. This statue is an original copy made by the same artist who made the NY one. In fact, Ours is moths older than the NY one. and its small. Also in Belgrano you can see the Parroquia Inmaculada Concepcion,.a super small church known as La Redonda (because it has circular shape).
There is a place, not mucho popular but pretty good. "Tierra Santa" (holy land), it is a religious tematic park. It has buildings that is seems Made in Jerusalem at the age of Christ. It's only Open on weekends and it's not for free. I did go there some time ago and it was Nice, but it's just my opinion Happy new year.

Hi Chanel, love to see your videos. I was wondering if you can make a video about how to be a digital nomad in BS AS , cause I really want to go there, I am also a digital nomad but I dont know exactly how to get my payment there, cause they deposit in my country´s account and I dont know how to transfer it to bs as cause I heard that there is a restriction going on. Could you help me, pls? Thanks so much😍
I recomend you, Palermo Chico, el barrio de las Embajadas, one of the most fancy neighborhoods in the city. In the other hand, El barrio Inglés, en Caballito
Hi! Nice video! My wife, baby boy, and I are visiting BA next weekend. Very excited! What is the best way to pay for things like hotel, restaurants, etc currently? Travel credit card? Or is it still best to pay cash for everything via Western Union?
I hope you have fun! I use credit card mostly as I don't get chaarged a foreign transaction fee, I find it to be more convenient because the rate is still very good, and I don't have to worry about carrying that amount of cash too. With restaurants, there is sometimes a ~10% discount if you can pay with cash.
I move here a year ago and also been going back and forth 😂 I think i would add Palacio Errázuriz (Palermo) Museo de la carcova (Puerto Madero) Palacio Barolo (Congreso) Basílica María Auxiliadora y San Carlos (Almagro)
Hi Chanel - You mentioned that you use the Western Union app, which is my plan on upcoming trip to BA. Had seen somewhere a recommendation to not do more than 200 USD due to locations not having enough pesos on hand. Is that something you've experienced, or found a location where that isnt an issue? I don't necessarily want to go to a Western Union everyday for 2.5 weeks ... Appreciate any insight you can offer in this regard.
I think that’s a good recommendation, however, we don’t typically have trouble with a western Union not having money as we don’t go to touristy/crowded spots, I think it’ll depend on the time of day and where you go!

Great Video. Thanks Chanel. I'll be visiting Buenos Aires Next Month for a month. Do you have any insights on the "Blue Dollar" exchange? Where is it safe to get Argentinian currency exchanged for USD$100 bills? I know you mentioned you have Western Union, but wanted to see if you had any other helpful info on exchanging currency. Thank you.

Your cat is not cute. I really enjoyed the north. Olivos, San Isidro, Martenez. I have family that live in Garin but that is too far out. Materderos has some charm but it is only because they have the very best pizza. I love the parsley and garlic on pepperoni. Llao llao was a nice pizza joint in belgrano the food is so amazing I have to agree.
I’m not sure where you’re living, but your basic recommendations on food are barely accurate (and I don’t know why you’re pronouncing some of these things the way you are if you live in Buenos Aires and I would hope speak some Spanish). There are loads of vegan and vegetarian restaurants in my neighborhood of Palermo Hollywood alone, I know for sure around Belgrano because I have a vegetarian friend who lives there, and I would assume in plenty of other places. Also, why would you recommend Havana for alfajores? They’re mass produced and only really acceptable if you have to buy a box to pack. I would recommend getting a freshly made one like the ones at Narda Comedor or Lepes.
What are your MUST do things to do and see?!
