Hi Nicki , Simon here your guide from Recoleta Cemetery. A lovely couple showed up in Recoleta today and recognised me from this video, I didn't even know I was in it tbh. Anyway we had a lovely tour of Recoleta Cemetery this afternoon and I just wanted to say thanks for the mention. 👍🏻
Hi Simon! I'm really happy to hear that you got some business from it! I like to promote you both on UA-cam and my blog. The tour we did with you was fantastic and you know so much about BA! Good luck! :)
By far one of the best travel related videos I have seen so far on UA-cam. Travel is all about exploring the neighborhoods, visiting parks and museums and of course the local food. You covered 'em all, Will be in BA in December for 2 weeks during Christmas and New Year. We will view this video again and again to make sure we follow the plan and don't miss anything🙂. Thank you very much Nicki!
Thank you very much for this outstanding video , Buenos Aires is my favorite City and I even went to visit what they told me were the ugly and scary parts of Town , and the people were so nice , and the different classes of food is amazing, I had Peruvian ceviche which I loved and the people all over Buenos Aires and other cities were wonderful people, and they make you feel at Home .❤❤❤
Another great video, Nicki - we've been here 5 weeks already, and I had to stop the video several times to mark places in my map! Thanks for all the ideas!
Thank you for adding us to your list!!! Today two guys from Canada visited Andra and mention this Post you made Thank you again and We are Glad you enjoyed it !
You’re very welcome! You definitely deserve to be on any list for BA! I’m really happy to know that people visited Andra after watching the video! :) I wish you success! 💕
I spent 2 months in BA last year and definitely missed a lot of these things...going back in March so I have a lot of new ideas of things to see! The puppet museum is totally up my alley!
Hola La Llarona! :) I'm really happy you're going back. There is SO much to see in BA. I really loved the puppet museum. It's a little creepy and a little strange, but I loved it so much. hahaha The people working there were the nicest. It's totally free to enter but the puppet show is only 500 pesos. I think it's a really cool experience to go there! :)
Thank you so much for this video. It helped me organized my trip to Argentina in the last days. You’re spot on, with your recommendations. I went to a lot of places you mentioned, but added some flexibility to discover others. Parques de Palermo, La Biela, Feria de San Telmo and Ateneo Grand Splendid stood out. For the ones I discovered and fell in love… Tres Monos Bar in Palermo Soho was such a great spot! Also Orno Palermo, in front of Don Julio (my favorite pizza in BA).
Thank you for this beautiful video. As porteña that I am, nacida y criada en la ciudad, I am glad that this city receives so well people from everywhere and we have so many beauties to offer. Tango is missing! You should go to milongas and show our amazing dancers and musicians. Te sigo viendo 😀🧉

Hi Nicki! Great post! Love all the details and the restaurant recommendations. One question, if I am not fluent in Spanish, would I have a lot of problems getting around Buenos Aires? Do they speak any English?
Hi Melody- Thanks so much for watching, I'm glad you found it helpful! :) You will be totally fine, especially in Buenos Aires. A ton of people speak English and are willing to help out. Just try your best in Spanish and they will really appreciate that, and offer to speak in English if you want. This is a fabulous video for everyone who wanna visit Buenos Aires including myself !! Thank you Nicki !! I've watched this the day you uploaded ,but didn't comment ,thought I did ! Lol. The Japanese garden is looking good since the day I found out ! Usually we ,Japanese don't get too impressed by Japanese gardens in other countries !! Lol Thank you for mentioning of Eco Park & it's a " sanctuary " now ,a big thanks to the Argentinian animal welfare/ rights groups & others who complained of series of poor animals death there !! Many wild animal have been transported to sanctuary & better zoos in other countries for a better life !!! I believe two more elephants are still in the process . Indoor markets are very common in European countries & U.K. ! I didn't know there was one in Argentina. Maybe more ? I guess it's because of their European ancestor's influences ?( Italians & Spanish ) We don't have in U.S.,I believe ? Let me think ! 🤔 LOL The closest comes to my mind is one in DTLA food court ,I've been wanting to go to for a long time now.👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🇦🇷⚽️💞
Hi Spark! Thanks for your lovely comment. It doesn't surprise me that Japanese are not usually impressed with Japanese gardens in other countries. The one in BA is small, but I thought it was quite nice. I really liked the restaurant inside as well. You're right that the animals are now being taken care of much better, which is great. The trendy indoor markets are definitely becoming a thing in Argentina. Cordoba has one too! And BA has a few. I really like them! I'm not sure that it's because of the EU influence, just that it's pretty trendy all over the world. The US has some for sure. I can think of a few in Denver and Boulder, where I'm from, and I've been to one in LA as well. But I do think it's more of a newer trend! But the DTLA food court hahahaha

My sister and I are taking our niece and nephews in July for their high school graduation gift. We got your itinerary on Thatch - super helpful!!! We're wondering if you'd modify the itinereay at all since we'll be there in the winter. There will be 7 of us total.
Hi Lyndsey! That's so exciting!! :) I hope you will all have the best time. There isn't really much I would modify on the itinerary. Just dress warm! The outdoor activities like the San Telmo Feria and Tigre, etc. all operate during the winter. Just make sure to bring coats and scarves! :)
Great video! Quick question... my husband has some second cousins that we are planning to meet for the first time while we are waiting for our cruise to begin. What would be a good gift to bring from the US (for women)? TIA
Hi Ali, thanks for watching! Great question- what kind of things are they interested in? Things like electronics, clothing, and make-up are all quite expensive in Argentina, and much more affordable in the US. So perhaps they might like something in one of those categories?
Thank you Nicki, I appreciate all the info! How much dollars or Argentinian pesos do you think I'll need to have for 10days more or less? I want to make sure I send myself an adequate amount via western union and also make sure I don't have unessary pesos laft over. Thank you kindly
Thank you for publishing your book. I purchased and it's very informative! Any suggestions as to how much money to take out at the ATM at airport to get us to the hotel? We will be finding "cambio" later, but we need some money to start out for the taxi and some drinks and lunch. having a difficult time trying to budget. our phones are basically dead-weight, and we won't have a way to contact the person you recommended in your book.
Aw thank you Ali, I'm so happy to hear it was helpful. Thank you for purchasing it. As far as getting a ride to town from the airport, I actually suggest that you contact Emilio in advance. He is a very reliable person. Therefore, if you tell him your flight details and the time you arrive, he will be there waiting for you, even if you don't have a phone. You can let him know that you won't have a phone. Then you can pay him in USD. You can exchange photos with him in advance to know what he looks like and vice versa. If possible, I advise against taking money out of the atm. Doing this will get you the official rate, so you'll lose half of your purchasing power. If you can have Emilio pick you up and take you to the hotel, then you could go to the Western Union once you drop off your bags. Some hotels will even do a blue dollar exchange. You could ask your hotel in advance if they offer that service. Also, if you have a Visa credit card, Argentina has begun to give the MEP rate (almost the blue rate) for use with Visa credit cards. However, before relying on that, I would make one small purchase first and then check your credit card statement to make sure you're really getting that better rate, and not the official rate. Hope that helps! :)
Great job Nicki! I'm from San Diego and mi esposa es desde Mar del Plata. However - she hasn't spent much time in BA and so the city was new to us. We spent November 2022 in BA and went to many of these places (not nearly all!) I agree with most everything except day 7 - honestly I think La Boca is a tourist trap from hell and outside of El Caminito (which, honestly, isn't all that great either) you pretty much just want to get out of there as fast as possible. The locals say as sketchy as La Boca is you *really* don't want to cross the river! Puerto Madero I could do without also - it's all just rather uninspiring restaurants and is more of an upscale tourist trap from hell. That said, I suppose there is something said for seeing both if you've never seen them. Barrio Chino was just "OK" for us. It's very small and if you've ever been to other well-known China towns (e.g. San Francisco) you won't be that impressed. Also way overpriced IMHO. Palermo SOHO > Palermo Hollywood (unless maybe you're a club-hopping 20 something!)
Hi Mike- totally agree with you on lots of your comments. La Boca is definitely a tourist trap, though I think it's worth it to see at least once. Definitely just for a couple hours and get out. I can't remember exactly what I cut out and what made the final edit, but I did mention that at some point during filming! haha Puerto Madero is nice to take a walk, which is all I included. Just walking along the river until the CCK. I agree Barrio Chino is small, but I think it's also nice on a Sunday when there is a lot of movement. I love the Asian supermarkets mostly! :) I like both parts of Palermo and they're totally different at night/day. I find Hollywood to be a lot more chill but Soho to be younger and party central. I don't go out much, but I really like both during the daytime. Great cafes! :)
Hey- I studied Spanish literature in university, and did a semester abroad in Spain. Over the years I’ve lived in a few places where Spanish is the main language (Argentina 2x, Miami) and travelled throughout the Spanish speaking world quite a bit so got the chance to practice.
Hi Nicki I've been looking for a possible latin American country to retire to and I'm liking buenos Aires I'm in northern Maine USA on the Canada border I'm going to get my passport soon I make almost 2100 a month so I'm thinking I can live comfortably with out the cold and snow and I'm 9 hours north of a major city that being Boston I'm looking forward to watching all of your videos thank you so much
Hi Kevin- Argentina is definitely a great place to be. I think you could easily live on 2100/mo there. Buenos Aires is one of the more expensive cities in Argentina, so if you are really looking to save money, you could also consider Mendoza, Cordoba, and Salta as they are other great cities but with a much lower cost of living.
The Japanese restaurant is decent, but these other places are horrible recommendations for food- don’t eat at them. Atis is beautiful and El Federal and La Poesía are certainly historic places worth a look and maybe a drink, but the food is not good at any of them
Horse racing is contributing to animal abuse and cruelty. Please study the topic to educate yourself. You seem like a person who would be ethically outraged of the horse industry if only you knew.

I can't think of one ! But,I also have stopped going out / dinning out completely at one point & I do that now again ,but only few times a year these days !! So, I guess I missed that out ! LOL 😅 DTLA train station ( I believe )has a real nice food court. And it's been very popular amongth office workers & soany varieties of people I've read before ! I am gonna ask around for the indoor markets in L.A. ! That's neat ! Thank you for letting me know !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
@NickiPostsTravelStuff thank you.
They asked my husband for maple syrup. Very surprising.
@@aliplev7610 haha that’s so funny! Glad you got a good gift!
Thank you Nicki, I appreciate all the info! How much dollars or Argentinian pesos do you think I'll need to have for 10days more or less? I want to make sure I send myself an adequate amount via western union and also make sure I don't have unessary pesos laft over. Thank you kindly
Do you have a guide to BA itinerary specifically for families with young kids (6 and 3) visiting for the first time?
In many countries Americans get 90 days as a tourist, but then can get a 90 day extension….is that the case in Argentina ?
Thx !
Check out my video about my visa expiring. I'll explain it all there! :)
Cool 💚 which important app recommend it for travel ??
The Thatch app! :)
How do u get a cheap furnished 6 month rental without doing the expensive airbnb as an expat?
Mannn you said you dont like the pizza at Guerrin. Best pizza ive ever had in my life
Great job Nicki!
stay in san diego with your cipaya wife and don't come back
Hey Nicki, always wondered where/how did you learn Spanish and what is your background/experience in the language?
Hey- I studied Spanish literature in university, and did a semester abroad in Spain. Over the years I’ve lived in a few places where Spanish is the main language (Argentina 2x, Miami) and travelled throughout the Spanish speaking world quite a bit so got the chance to practice.
Are there shopping malls in Buenos Aires?
Yes.There are many, especially in the big cities. You'll find several! :)
Please O'Please "spell out" the name of the App, "the zap app or jab,... can't find it
But how much
What about the steak and wine?
Acaso esto significa una despedida?
Pues si, desafortunadamente, ya me fui de CABA! Espero volver un dia a la ciudad de furia que amo tanto! :)
🥺😢🙋♂️
Why recommend such low rated restaurants?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's no 'pre-colonial' architecture in San Telmo.
CORRECTION 9 DE JULIO.AV IS THE WIDEST AV IN THE WORLD.!!
Do NOT go to Atis Bar for anything but drinks. The food is really pricy and NOT good at all... The place is gorgeous tho, truly beautiful.
The Japanese restaurant is decent, but these other places are horrible recommendations for food- don’t eat at them. Atis is beautiful and El Federal and La Poesía are certainly historic places worth a look and maybe a drink, but the food is not good at any of them
En esa biblioteca hay una copia del necronomicon la otra está en París y otra en estados Unidos, curioso como el culo de un oso 😂
jajaja mira vos. No lo sabia!
There is no such thing a "pre-colonial" architecture in Buenos Aires.
I was wondering why she was smiling so much in the thumbnail? This is not a shit ass continent like others, where you can smile out of empathy.
Why do you keep posting the same comment on several videos?
Whats App. Don't forget. Chacarita Cemetary like over 200 Acres. RECOLETA NEIGHBORHOOD. 😂 No Regrets. DIEZ DIAS.
