It's New Years Day (January 1, 1977) and the Supremes sing and perform "Come Into My Life" a cut from their album "Mary, Scherrie & Susaye. What a way to start a New Year!
What a flash back!! Thank you for posting this rare video and who cares if they were lip synching, "Come Into My Life" was a great late night pick up song back in it's day! That whole album, Holland/Dozier/Holland production was awesome, another cut I love was "I Don't Want To Be Tied Down" that album got no push nor promotion from Motown, what a shame!
Fabulous! thanks for putting it on. Love Susaye's vocals, she really added to the group. I like all the Supreme era's but this final line up is my favorite, with 3 leads all great in their own way, and some superb material. Mary said it was the friendliest line up with no big egos. Shame the company did not give them much support.
That's exactly the precise answer. Scherrie is/was 5'2in. tall and Susaye was only 4'11.3/4 tall. A quarter of an inch from 5'0 ft. Mary stood 5'41/2 or 5'5in tall. Leaving her to be the tallest Supreme in that specific line-up!!! It's funny though, Mary in a lot of the Supremes line-ups was the shortest Supreme.
@DetroitLives313 I agree with that to a point, I'd say the most iconic lineup also had 3 lead singers...but yes such an amazing lineup. I just got the album the other day (via a purchase on ebay) and it's incredible! I can't believe allmusic only gave it 1 star. I sent a letter complaining about it and have requested they review the album again! - JLG | JonathanLGardner
@BlogShag Although you are about 30 years late, it still would not hurt you to get your ears and eyes checked! These women here, The Supremes Mary, Scherrie and Susaye hardly sounded generic (WTF does that mean anyway?). They were spectacular, high-stylists that they were. This is first grouping that had 3 lead singers!
@singlos Hey Los it's me, marysfan. It's a live performance if not live singing as opposed to just slapping up a picture of an album cover and just playing the song's track.
Wow ... This is a rough crowd! LOL! While this isn't really classic Supremes I don't think it's awful. The interesting thing is hard core dance heads LOVE these latter day Supremes cuts, especially overseas. One thing is for sure: Mary deserves much respect for doing the best she could to keep her group alive amidst horrible professional and personal roadblocks. You gotta give it to the sister for trying.
I could see where this would be a great late night pick up song...especially on drugs in a crazy lit discotheque. Susaye added a lot to the sound and musical styling of the day. Cindy was almost too old at this point to "get down" and the Supremes "sound" and "look" were long over anyway. Give the sistas credit, though! This song works.
@BlogShag You liked Sister Sledge and who? I really hope you are not some way, somewhere in your mind even thinking about comparing those groups to THE SUPREMES? HA!
Pedro Ferrar really did not know what the hell he was doing. Susaye Greene is very talented--but she just didn't fit into the Supremes. Losing Cindy was a terrible mistake.

The best of the best
And for all of you who don't know Ms. Greene sounds EXACTLY as she did then and can still hit EVERY SINGLE NOTE IN THE ORIGINAL KEY!!
This should have been a single release
@susayegreene You are very welcome and thank you for the music! You ladies were/are something else!
Never seen this...thank you for posting.
WELL IF THE HAD A SUPREMES REUNION TOUR WITH THIS LINE UP, I WILL GO!!!..THEIR ALBUMS WERE SO UNDERRATED...
Scherrie can dance.

i meant mikesykes16. go to his channel
Is this Soul Train? Susaye and Scherrie are very short. Susaye tends to often overdo it though I like the song.
This is Soul Train. This was their last appearance on the show in 1976
Well, kinda live....

the quality of this video is just awful. Though talented singers this is not much of a song. Think they deserved better.
