Mary sounded amazing on this song! R.I.P. my dear. Scherrie Payne sung her face off on here as well. And how can we say thank you to Cindy Birdsong Who held up The Supremes from Florence Ballard departure.
Loved this song when it came out in 1975. I thought this was the beginning of a huge come back for The Supremes, but It never quite happened. They've always been #1 in my book...and that's all that matters.
The first 14 seconds, the lead singers harmonizes so beautifully; as if she is subconsciously saying, "finally finally finally its my time to shine; 10 years singing back-up, I can now shine."
Facts. Whenever they would perform this live, Cindy would sing a line from the chorus. I love this song. A great way to introduce the line up of Mary Cindy and Scherrie to the record buying public
When SEXY was SEXY without being COMPLETELY NAKED!!!!!!!!!! I think EVERY version of THE SUPREMES were WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY UNDERRATED!!!!!!!!!! I grew up on and LOVED EACH AND EVERY ONE!!!!!!!!!
While I certainly appreciate Scherrie's added spice on this song, especially the long notes at the end, for me Mary just MAKES this record!! Her sexy delivery is exactly in the pocket of this song!
Spirit Angelfish I Completely agree. To me the seventies Supremes never got the credit they deserved. Love this song and love the costumes. Mary's voice made the song
@@thesingngchubbs97oapqueen85 I know this is an old post but I have to agree wholehesrtedly with you! 👍🏾The 70's Supremes NEVER got the credit they deserved! What a Dynamic Performance on "The Hippest Trip In America"! 🚆 🎤 🎤 🎤
@@oneilmackey1155 Happy New Year You're speaking facts. They continued to carry on the group's legacy which is why their 70's Anthology, and Let Yourself Go The Final Albums became the group's best selling compliations out of their catalog. Mary, Cindy and Scherrie was a wonderful line-up visually and vocally
This song is great but just reminds me of how Mary's voice did not really excite.....sorry just my opinion. Her voice is ok but never once gave me goosebumps.
I bought this album in July 1975. It seems like yesterday but in reality it's almost 50 years- a lifetime ago! Count back 50 years in the other direction to 1925 and that really hits home just how much time has passed!
THE SUPREMES (Mary Wilson, Cindy Birdsong, Scherrie Payne) With their # 1 Billboard Disco Chart Hit "He's My Man" from what I consider a highly underrated Album/CD that got poor marketing, publicity & distribution by Motown/Berry Gordy as he's plans of facing them out into oblivion marched on!

I’m watching on my phone and can’t make out which one is Mary? Is she the thinner background singer wailing, or is she the slightly heavier one. Great song. I’d never heard it before.

Mary's voice had what Diana called" sweetness"
Mary really stepped her game up with this one and entered a whole new phase as a singer. This was a huge step forward for her. One of her best leads.
They was wiping that stage A....

@@MUSICENCYLOPEDIAWait, how did she not know a house was not in her named or owned by her?
Great song but the stage movements just don't work for me.
are they lip syncing?
Yes they are.
Who cares?

Mary is singing lead on this song.
Mary's shares lead with Scherrie Payne on this track. She is heavier here because she had just given birth a few weeks prior to the performance.
