This is why I like, how Les Paul Studio looks. It is neutral. Nothing eye-catching, nothing unnecessary. Perfect.
yeah I feel like in the Les Paul Custom for example, there is too much going on.
Watching you guys has become an everyday thing for me, it's also helping me to gain knowledge to the specs on guitars, decipher what type of wood the body or neck is made of, pick ups and shizz and also new playing styles for me. I love you guys so much :)
My 2013 Studio came from you guys.
Best guitar I have ever played and completely turned me around on Les Pauls.
I watch for the conversation and ramblings. Jams are icing on the cake. I'm weird though so there is that.
I watch for their banter and the guitars. The jams are necessary but mostly it's the way they spark off each other that keeps me watching.
Paul Jones Agreed.
Alan Hinton your not the only one
Love your videos: humor, great information, and cool playing too: can't beat that!
They keep saying the Les Paul Studio is meant for the studio musician rather than the live performer, but it sounds the same as a Standard, and I have no idea why an audience would think it looks less presentable. Its unadorned appearance is elegant and beautiful.
Your guess is as good as mine. One of my favourite musicians is Jade Puget from AFI, and he mostly plays studios live.
I'm gonna be honest my New Years goals were to buy a chapman guitar. The other one is to meet you rob! So I can tell you how much you have changed my bad days into good! Thank you sir for revitalizing music for me and everyone else! ❤️🤘🏻
Got one for Christmas, loving it so far.
Not only can you tell you guys are good friends, but you play very well together as well. You guys crack me up! LMAO here in the states.
Subscribed!
congrats captain, your playing is really getting better!! cheers! happy new year guys!
Love watching your videos :)
It cost me some money since i get tempted i buy a lot of guitars and gear .
Keep em coming, got my coffee made and enjoying another great video :)
Happy new year :)
I’ve been researching whether to get my FIRST Les Paul, or a 60th anniversary Triple Jazzmaster to compliment my Cobain Jaguar. And I have to say... you guys crack me up every time I watch one of your videos. Educational and hilarious. I really appreciate you guys and your demos.
Capt looked better with the Explorer
hahaha yeah...
Fantastic jamming guys - I much prefer this to most of the stuff that I hear on the radio ! Congrats for keeping us entertained, up to date, and smiling. Your jamming is so enjoyable and it has given me so much to work with as I venture out with my own guitar playing. Thanks so much and take care guys - maybe hook up that Tone King Imperial Mark II again too. ( it's why I bought mine )
I freakin' love you guys and your show! Super informative and funny; makes me want to hangout and jam with you guys!
Oh god, when you speak french it's just so fun! Love from Belgium and Happy new year guys!
Loved the A-Team riff Rob!
You guys need to this show live in front of an audience. Another brilliant video!
I bought this one, Love it:) thanks for the info and the help by reviewing it:)
Absolutely gorgeous looking guitars! I wanna buy one now...
That has got to be one the best solos iv'e heard from Lee!
You're getting increasingly good at jamming together guys!
ohh god ! well done Lee ! he is a really good player
That High Performance Studio is so subtly gorgeous but doesn't need that RPG proof case.
fantastic the sound of those guitars
not a huge blues fan but when when Lee and Rob play it, i really enjoy it
Chappers and Capt Lee, Been watching your videos and subscribing to your channels for a about 6 months now and I'm addicted!!! I have been playing for about the same amount of time and the Captain actually gives me hope that someday my "non-music reading a$&" will actually be able to play something. P.S. More Rebea and Danish Pete, they are great!
Almost spit out some coffee at the A TEAM riff
damn, capt is at it killing with those licks again!
Loving the 2015 Studio my wife presented me with last week for my 50th Birthday. Up until then I'd only played Charvels, Jacksons, and Ibanez. For such a traditional concept the range of tones is staggering. I just wish I had the fingers to do it justice.
Regards
Nidge
These guys are great! Best tv show by far 😀
These sound great guys.
I think I have watched this about 7 times already, lol, mainly because I just ordered one of these beautiful guitars, and while I have watched a lot of your videos. this one is funny and informative as well:) You two make me laugh in a good way, because stats and reviews out there are so lame with data, and either no playing, or not enough data and lame playing. I appreciate the info and the camaraderie that you two have, its always interesting to see and hear what is your vids. So, thanks for that, and also thanks for playing TWO ebony gold hardware studios, which is exactly what I got lol:) Cool stuff!:)
Sounds awesome !
Great video guys... as always. I shared a few of my own thoughts about the 2016 Studio over on my channel. It looks like Gibson "got it right" in 2016... after the whole 2015 debacle.
Studio...what an incredible value!!!
After watching your videos for the past few weeks i finally realized why you seemed so familiar weather it's your playing or that that you look a bit like him. You really remind me of John Petrucci from Dream theater.
LET'S CRYYYY FOOOR THEE BAAD MAAANN
Lee: That little shuffle pattern at 12:xx would make a great mini lesson.
The A-Team theme song at 7:14.
Now I am showing my age.
Gibson's product range does make more sense this year.
13:40 the "sharp dressed man"-vibe is real
The a-team was a nice touch.🤘
Finally! A demo about Studio 2015!! I wait for so long and today XD
Ps:(I don't have enough money..)
Dude, I got Fallout 4 for x-mas and I am hooked!
You Guys Rock!!
luscious guitars.
"Love it when a plan comes together!"
I just received the 2016 Gibson Studio 50's Tribute T in the Gold Top for USD $899 and it is *NICE!* I'm really happy with it. The Gold Top really helps it look more like a Standard, it's just missing that binding around the edge! But it definitely sounds and plays *really great.* I'm enjoying it a lot, although I do hope to get a Standard or a Custom in the relatively near future if I can afford one.
met chappers and bea today at andertons, such cool guys
Pawned my Les Paul to pay bills today :/ but no worries I will get it back.
Gotta do what you gotta do.
Best guitars ever!
I most definitely watch these videos for the dialogue and somewhat to see a video on a specific guitar. I don't really know what makes a guitar sound good or bad tbh.
First jam was a nice mix of 'You Really Got Me' and 'I Like The Way You Move'.
+Dan Brazier More like "Cry For the Bad Man"...
Yeah, sort of... good spot.
Are you guys doing a review of the 50s tribute model? :D
A nice wine red one of these babies in satin finish with a black pickguard please ;). There really is something about that LP/JCM800 tone that's instantly recogniseable!
Happy new year chappers and captain
Excellent! Party on Garth! Party on Wayne!
I'd love one of those HP studios Rob had at the start... :)
I get inspired to play everytime i see rob jammin
12:51
B.B. King is still alive?? Haha! Nice slide, Rob! :)
Great videos...you guys ever review the Gibson Les Paul Studio in Worn Mahogany?...never seen one, like to know the specs and hear one. I have a PRS in Natural Mahogany as well, would be nice to see/hear the difference...thanks! Frank, Nashville, TN USA
Oh DAMNNNN! A Les Paul Studio with a shred-neck joint in SATIN??!
I didn't think I'd need another Les Paul than my blood red Studio with gold hardware, but damn you Gibson!
are these pickups hot enough for some metal.
along the lines of sylosis to Dorje ??
thanks for showing the case... even the Gibson site fails here...
In what other videos do they play the A Team theme? I love it when they play it together but I can't find any videos where they do even though I know they have, if anyone knows I'd appreciate some help. Love the vids guys!
Despite the Capt. not knowing as many notes as Rob, I prefer his solo.
Help! I'm an intermediate guitarist who just is fed up with his 10 watt ibanez practice amp. I play a tiny bit of jazz, quite a bit of blues and hard rock, some metal and I also improvise a lot of Steve Vai sounding stuff. I will often play at my school in the gymnasium on just amp power (and subsequently get drowned out by everyone else.) this year we've played stuff from deep purple to 'all I want for Christmas' I was looking in the demo section of an online Canadian guitar/music store (because I'm not a stickler about my equipment being absolutely mint) and found two amps in the 500$-600$ range. A bugera v55hd infinium 55watt with a 4x12 cab, and a blackstar ht solo 60 combo. I've tried the blackstar and really liked it, but I also like the sound of the bugera on some of the demos I've seen. I would also get a distortion/fuzz/crunch type pedal with the bugera. The question is: which one?
Those are almost as cool as my new Chapman ML-2 Antique Sunburst :D
wrong video for it but ordered a SG special Hiperf. so excited but looking at the delivery date its april :O worth the wait but its such a long wait at that
I really pushed the boat out and got the Studio T in ebony, after promising myself if I could stick at learning guitar for 3 years I would upgrade my Epi Standard to a Gibson. I have run it through a Blackstar HT 5 and a Peavey Vypyr VIP 2 and all I can say is - wow. Even through the Vypyr the difference between this and the Epi is massive. It is also incredibly easy to play, it seems to play itself. I am so happy with this guitar. On a clean chan on the BS, volume 3 coil split on the neck gives a beautiful acoustic sound - humbucker on the bridge at volume 7 gives a great crunch, anything higher and into overdrive. The bridge pickup is powerful, the guitar was driving the distortion on the clean chan. Amazing clarity, I thought the neck may be a little muddy, I was surprised that it was not at all. Superb sustain. Great guitar.
I had similar experience . Just suberb guitar. I have winered les paul studio 2011. I love that guitar.
I really love your guitar review videos, but I really wish you would do metal tones more often on guitars with humbuckers.
+rickmangler Agreed! \m/
+Joe Nitrate Well, Captain is not really a metal guy, he's all about blues. On the other hand Rob can do some metal riffage :D
I honestly would rather listen to blues. I listen to Metallica and Slayer all day, it's nice to unwind with blues at the end of the day!
Plot twist: they can do both
+Squatch I see, you should check out more modern metal then, ofcourse Metallica and Slayer will bore you the fuck out eventually. Check out some Revocation, Sylosis or Killswitch Engage, just to name a few.
nice playin' dudes!!!!!!!!!!
Got the same guitar. Ebony and gold hardware. Awesome guitar for the money
Hi. When do you expect to have the les paul traditional reviews? Thank you.
how do you get that beautiful tone!
PLEASE tell me your amp settings :o
Those colors look great, especially the green~ish one. Are the color options the same for the satins?
Can you guys do a comparison review of the Les Paul Studio Faded and the traditional Les Paul Studio?
Would you guys please consider doing a review of the 2016 Gibson Les Paul Shred Studio. I am thinking of buying one of these and I would be interested to know what you think of it.
any plans to do a video about the studio faded? its sorely tempting me
I just got one of these used for a good price and I love the finish. Without the robo tuners. How much money would it cost to get the electrons so I can coil tap? Thought that was shiny I have the satin so mine is the cheapest of them all as it should be as bad as I play nobody can tell anyway
5:49 best replica ever: Lee: look it's a Les Paul, does all Les Paul thing
I have a Studio like the Captains. First thing I did was toss the 490/498 pickups. What did I replace them with? It doesn't matter. Anything you choose will sound better. Anything. Then you will have a great R&R guitar that crunches.
I used to play for around 3 years with a beginners ibanez and unfortunately had to stop.
I would love to start again and think about getting an Gibson or epiphone because i love the les paul!
Any tips from you guys?
you guys should go an epiphone Les Paul studio, traditional, standard or whatever they come in. I haven't seen a nice review on them.
Ha That a was the 1st guitar I ever bought and had to Pawn it and lost it and it was black. (and it was an invader) Nevertheless I bought as many guitars as possible soon after and next a ML-1 ...Yeah-Happy New year! Black is great very 80's
I just saw the studio in my local Long & McQuade (Canada) and it’s on sale used for $899 it’s beat up and scratched, but I’m still probably going to buy it. Is it a good Les Paul.
My god... that case is absolutely stunning!!!
What does the case alone cost?
Will you guys do a review ish thing on the 2016 Gibson les Paul worn that would be awsome
Correction it's the faded series t sorry
+Jacob Peeden All the Les Pauls are more or less the same aside from aesthetics. If you're that particular about the tone, then you can't go wrong with buying aftermarket pickups, even Gibson has them. So don't worry much about the guitar, worry more about the amp. Get something like the JCM here and rest assured you'll have a match made in heaven. It's gonna be hell for your neighbors, but who gives a shit XD
I just played my first les Paul that happened to cost $5000 and I gotta say everything else I played that day was so much nicer. Included the used mockingbird that I found laying around that was worth about $100
Dream guitar is a ghostfret 25,5 inch scale Satin Black neck thru and string to body
pickups seymour Duncan sh 5 or emg 81
into a 5150 amp!!!
Watching this as im changing my strings on a guitar with a floyd rose bridge, wish me luck!
+Jürgen Kesamaa When you got the hang of it, it won't take longer than on any other bridge :)
I did that last night. Had the same strings on for two years because I was too scared to change. Wasn't too bad though!
I've been playing guitar for 11+ years and still scared of it a lil bit haha!
Are you done yet?
I was also afraid, till I blocked it. Its not a problem anymore
I actually watch to learn about Gear...but the jams are cool too. :D
I've got a 1993 Studio that looks identical to the traditional version but with an amazing ebony fingerboard!! I love it!! It cost me £600 new in November 1995. That's inflation for you ;0)
I heard the A-Team theme! :D
Everybody NEEDS a new GUITAR HA HA Happy New Year :)
Do you think you guys could start showing us your amp settings. (even if its just during a sweep while you're playing).
The studio has superb jazz tones, I really wanted to know if the standard sounded the same.
Nice guitars.
I need help:
When I turn down the tone knob(s) on my Gibson Les Paul ( Studio 2017 high performance) the volume knob becomes incredibly sensitive: It feels way more like an on-off-switch for the pickup as position “10“ is sounding as usual while at position “9“ and below I can hardly hear anything. The Volume just turns down way too early.
The guitar is just a week old, so I am wondering whether this is normal or if I should worry.
A big thanks to anyone who can help me! :D
l have a synyster custom guitar but I was wondering what picks r best for metal I use 1-5 mm thick ones r there any better sizes to get?
you guys should review the fender bassbreaker
