Maangchi is NOT kidding when she says a non-stick frying pan is important! If your pan sucks like mine, I suggest making smaller pancakes. It won't be as fun to eat / share with others, but you can get the crispiness right!

my korean cooking story is, i lived in korea for 5 years and i learn to love the food and then learn from maangchi how to cook all my favorites. korean cooking is part of our meals along side malaysian, western, indian and chinese food.

the reason why i loves korean dish is because when i was 12 years old, my twin sister last wish was korean dish..... now, i am 17 years old and i always remember her when i cook korean dish.... hope she is doing well up there....

i love how everybody enjoys her. no matter what age, sex, gender, background. everybody loves these videos and everyone is excited to learn how to cook and bake. my boyfriend has recently started to get into cooking and baking. i’ll have to introduce him to this channel!! maangchi is such a motherly figure. makes cooking so much fun!
Ever since I made my first batch of kimchi, I am officially addicted and I eat it almost for every meal. The versatality of it is crazy. There's kimchi noodles, fried rice, kimbap, stews, toast and pancakes like these ones. Truly amazing. The downside is I live in Malaysia where the Korean red pepper is slightly on the expensive side but the taste of it makes it so worth it.

Bro I been cooking all sorts of things because of you tube learned how to clean a whole fish cooking korean dishes Indian dishes Jamaican dishes I used to suck at cooking but one thing I can do is follow directions which pretty much is what cooking is
My first attempt was disastrous, but miraculously tasted fantastically. I am not deterred! Will perfect!

I have been a fan of kimchi for a few years but I've always had it as a cold side dish, this is the first recipe I actually cooked with it. I can't express how delicious it was! frying the kimchi in a pancake form completely transforms the ingredient. Thanks a million for sharing this easy and delicious recipe.
My godmother introduced me to this person and I am so grateful! I love how she does not make recipes complicated, but traditional and easy. I made this kimchi pancake last week and I couldn't wait to eat again and I have actually making it right now! I went on Google to try to find out how I did it and their recipes were so unnecessary and complicated and then I remembered that I had saved this video on one of my playlists and was able to go back. Hey Maangchi, good you upload so many cooking videos. Thanks to this I became a a masterchef in Korean cuisine! It is very meaningful to me as it reminds me living with my wife who is Korean. I’m Japanese local here in Hawaii but my uncle married Korean and my aunty used to always make these Korean pancakes for us with whatever she had on hand when we came over as kids in the late 90s. Haven’t had them in years but gonna try making this finally cause I remember them tasting amazing growing up lol

I just made these for the first time using your recipe, I do not like onions as a general rule, regardless, I followed your recipe to the letter, and while making this I messed up my 2nd flip, resulting in this pancake looking more like a vegetable omurice blob, but oh my gosh, I ate every bite of that delirious kimchi "pancake" and have never been happier about something that I have cooked on the first attempt!! I made my first one tonight for my husband (he looooooves kimchi). I just use a plate to help me flip the pancake so that I don't burn or drop it by accident. It was delicious! It wasn't that crispy, next time I want to make it a bit more crispy. I'm going to make it for our friend (we live in Korea and she is a Korean) when she comes to visit on Wednesday 🎉 Thank you! I always do everything your style, since a vegetarian and I love Korean food the most, I have made batches of kimchi and to my kimchijeon I even added bottle gourd and grated potato. It was delicious. Thank you for teaching us. ❤

Thank you for helping me remember when I was a little girl, sitting around the kitchen table watching my korean mother making all kinds of juns. My favorite was always her kimchi jun. There is nothing like a freshly made, crispy jun made by your mom.

I remember when I was in Seoul in summer 2011 visiting my brother (he was studying there), on one rainy day we went to this cool looking restaurant in a basement. I still remember the weird seashell-like tiles on the walls. There were only locals sitting there, all of them eating some kind of jeon and drinking. We ordered a huge pajeon and some makgeolli and it was super delicious, very cozy and warming. One of my most memorable moments in South Korea.

i ate this at a korean bbq place and had no idea its called kimchijeon, but i loved it SO MUCH! gonna try making this soon!
My nine year told me that I have to make this (we love kimichi) but I told him that I cannot do that flip and will have to use a spatula. He told me to keep watching the video lol! I guess I'll have to learn how to do it.

The year i went to summerschool in Korea i had a small business at my university selling kimchi pancakes.
