this is a great recipe. the "fails" during practicing tasted more delicious than the regular type pancakes I used to make and got me closer to my desired outcome finally :)
I made this and for my first attempt it was wonderful! :) I just made a little mistake, I doubled the recipe, and later googled and read why I couldn't get stiff peaks - My first yolk broke, and we separated it with a spoon, but apparently even if a little gets in the white mixture, you can't make stiff peaks. I mixed it for over an hour, but to no avail. I just used what I got and they turned out wonderfully anyways, but I'm a little sad they weren't perfect :(
@❱•❰ The Mono ❱•❰ Well they were just fluffy, sweet, well cooked pancakes more. Like Jaffa cakes spongy in look, but soft, unlike Jaffa. Still I was happy with it, and the family loved it, buuut it wasn't 2 cm tall like in the video, or jiggly at all. It literally was only missing the air being built into the white mixture :( That god damned first yolk... Also my last mixture was just folded, like in the video (spatula, NOT whisk), aaand it was still airy, though obviously, yeah, not as much. Wasn't totally liquid though, like with regular crepes. It was definitely sticky and airy and even left some peaks, though they were slowly disintegrating. Didn't stay, uhh.. "peak-y", like with whipped cream.
@❱•❰ The Mono ❱•❰ the trick is into FOLDING not mixing the yolk batter with the eggwhite-merengue batter. You have to use a spatula (or something flat and wide) and try to keep the merengue as it was.
While watching, was wondering how they were going to cook through without burning. The steaming part answered my question. Can’t wait to try this. Thank you
I made these today, the recipe and cooking were super easy and they came out perfect, my 2yr old and me devoured them lol 2 small warnings: the recipe yielded 4 big pancakes for me, which ended up being too much for the largest pan i had and they ended up sticking together as they got bigger and got mushed on those sides. So maybe use 2 pans, or a griddle, or do 2 batches. Besides that, the taste was very eggy. Both my kid and i really enjoy that, but maybe keep it in mind if youre not a fan. I give this recipe 10/10, will make again soon 🤩
Thank you for mentioning the eggy part. Uuurggghhh. Expected actually looking at the amount of eggs vs amount of flour & sugar. Guess I'm gonna skip this.
@Beemo plant It took me 30 to 45 minutes to make, take in mind that it was my first time doing it and I never cook so it should take u less time if u have some experience
I made this but it was my first time attempting something this refined so as a result, my pancakes were kinda sticky and undercooked. It’s my first time cooking these pancakes and I did it with the help of my mom !! They are delicious and I’m rly happy they turned out well :D THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO AND FOR THE RECIPE :D
This is such an easy recipe. Also, for the egg white and sugar, just be patient. It may not seem to work, but just keep going. Trust me, it will turn out perfect and delicious! Wonderful recipe!
If your egg white isn't getting stiff you don't need to worry still it will be fine. My egg white wasn't stiff but still it turns out to be so good. Have tried this recipe and it turned out to be so good. 😋😍❤️
It takes _time_ to get egg whites into soft peak - meringue. Under whipped is always preferable to over whipped, hard peaks because at that point they become dry & that's not tasty. Room temp eggs are best. If refrigerated take them out 20-30 minutes before separating. I used a similar recipe for waffles.
So for anybody making this for a family a lesson learned the hard way: The whole thing with whisking eggs with sugar is complete bs if you're making this from 3x the amount of everything so you can serve it for dinner for your fam. You need to whisk the whites stiff, completely stiff to the point you can turn the pot with it upside down and they won't fall out AND THEN AND ONLY THEN add sugar. Then it will be stiff at the end of it too, otherwise you'll get water texture no matter how long you're gonna whisk it. I know, I tried for 20 minutes before giving up. And if I sound pissed, that's because I am. This is a cooking channel, and nowhere in the recipe or the vid description was anything said about the problem I have, this is basic info, a lot of people cook for their family, it should have been there.
@@maithapotato641 np, I'm glad if it helped, I also got a chance to correct the spelling mistakes I made in it that I didn't notice thanks to your replay lmao that's what typing from my phone gets me
@@koemi8948 no idea, I never tried the recipe without it. You can try adding less or adding brown one to see how it comes out. Sugar gives it firmness so I'm not sure if they're be able to be as fluffy if you cut it out completely. About half may be fine tho. Edit: On that note stiff whites with sugar is exactly how you make sponge cake so you may look for sugarless sponge cake recopies to see if, and if then how they substitute that. If no sugar works for sponge cake it should work here too.

It was delicious! Just to add some ideas/info for beginners: The preparation takes around 15-20 mins for me. Including cooking it would be 5-10 mins depends how big your pan is. If u don’t have piping bag, use a ladle and slowly drop down. If u want to reheat, u can reheat and put a bit water and close the lid like how u cook it. And it will rise back. No worries and happy cooking 🌸
@@taemybae6263 Hi, I did once with vanilla essence and once without. The one with vanilla essence is better. If not it smells egg-ish. But since it’s cooked, doesn’t matter much,
I have a question, this recipe is for 3 pancakes, should just multiply all my ingredients to make more than 3 or should just repeat the process? for example, I would want to make at least 8-9 pancakes for my family.
6:51 PM Made these for a snack and as a test trial.. Didn’t beat the whites enough. 😂 Still really good though! Not as fluffy and if you don’t add the water or enough flour kind of comes out a little flat. Realised my mistake but had some batter left and managed to save it! 10/10 would recommend. It’s refreshing to try a recipe that doesn’t have to be 100% perfect to work!

I just made a little mistake, I doubled the recipe, and later googled and read why I couldn't get stiff peaks - My first yolk broke, and we separated it with a spoon, but apparently even if a little gets in the white mixture, you can't make stiff peaks.
I mixed it for over an hour, but to no avail. I just used what I got and they turned out wonderfully anyways, but I'm a little sad they weren't perfect :(
Same
@❱•❰ The Mono ❱•❰ Well they were just fluffy, sweet, well cooked pancakes more.
Samewweeweee
@❱•❰ The Mono ❱•❰ the trick is into FOLDING not mixing the yolk batter with the eggwhite-merengue batter. You have to use a spatula (or something flat and wide) and try to keep the merengue as it was.

I made these today, the recipe and cooking were super easy and they came out perfect, my 2yr old and me devoured them lol
2 small warnings: the recipe yielded 4 big pancakes for me, which ended up being too much for the largest pan i had and they ended up sticking together as they got bigger and got mushed on those sides.

If your egg white isn't getting stiff you don't need to worry still it will be fine.
My egg white wasn't stiff but still it turns out to be so good.
Have tried this recipe and it turned out to be so good. 😋😍❤️
Oh good I was starting to panic
It takes _time_ to get egg whites into soft peak - meringue. Under whipped is always preferable to over whipped, hard peaks because at that point they become dry & that's not tasty.
Room temp eggs are best. If refrigerated take them out 20-30 minutes before separating.
I used a similar recipe for waffles.
@@brrjohnson8131in the recipe, the specified dry peaks
So for anybody making this for a family a lesson learned the hard way:
The whole thing with whisking eggs with sugar is complete bs if you're making this from 3x the amount of everything so you can serve it for dinner for your fam.
This is a cooking channel, and nowhere in the recipe or the vid description was anything said about the problem I have, this is basic info, a lot of people cook for their family, it should have been there.
thanks alot for this
@@maithapotato641 np, I'm glad if it helped, I also got a chance to correct the spelling mistakes I made in it that I didn't notice thanks to your replay lmao
that's what typing from my phone gets me
Is sugar optional?
@@koemi8948 no idea, I never tried the recipe without it. You can try adding less or adding brown one to see how it comes out. Sugar gives it firmness so I'm not sure if they're be able to be as fluffy if you cut it out completely. About half may be fine tho.
Edit: On that note stiff whites with sugar is exactly how you make sponge cake so you may look for sugarless sponge cake recopies to see if, and if then how they substitute that. If no sugar works for sponge cake it should work here too.

It was delicious! Just to add some ideas/info for beginners:
The preparation takes around 15-20 mins for me.
Do you always make this with vanilla extract?
@@taemybae6263 Hi, I did once with vanilla essence and once without. The one with vanilla essence is better. If not it smells egg-ish. But since it’s cooked, doesn’t matter much,
I have a question, this recipe is for 3 pancakes, should just multiply all my ingredients to make more than 3 or should just repeat the process? for example, I would want to make at least 8-9 pancakes for my family.

Made these for a snack and as a test trial..
Didn’t beat the whites enough. 😂
Still really good though! Not as fluffy and if you don’t add the water or enough flour kind of comes out a little flat. Realised my mistake but had some batter left and managed to save it! 10/10 would recommend. It’s refreshing to try a recipe that doesn’t have to be 100% perfect to work!
