    Pretty cool man I just received my first virtual pinball machine yesterday. I received a Star Wars pinball by arcade1up. It has 10 Star Wars tables on it and it couldn't be happier the machine is beautiful. One thing that I did see that I liked with that Legends pinball is the back glass it's all animated stuff which is great versus the arcade1up pinball if they just have a piece of back glass that you put in along with the light bars and stuff

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  2 роки тому

      Thank you for checking this out Josh! I never purchased the A1UP pinball machines, but they definitely look beautiful! With the Legends Pinball it's possible to play most (if not all) of those tables with a PC connected to the machine. Just incase you're curious, I have a guide that walks you through it here: wagnerstechtalk.com/alp-mod1 . Arcade 1UP makes some great products, I hope you enjoy your pinball machine! I have one A1UP product, the Star Wars (Arcade) and absolutely love it -no regrets buying it. If you want a laugh, check out the first 2-3 min. of the video here: wagnerstechtalk.com/arcade1up-starwars

    nice vid, I should've tried Tee'd off in my video as it proves my point perfectly about how it's hard to see raised things in the playfield because of how flat everything looks. I couldn't see the bumpers they blended right in, at first i thought the table didn't have bumpers at all by the flippers. I still noticed on the Zaccaria tables that they aren't fully animated either. I wonder what the deal is, why can some tables have animated pop jets like real machines and others don't, in fact most don't. Still, with it's problems, the AtGames Pinball is still by far the best option at this price point.

    do you know if on the OTG tables that you can add.etc.. does the haptic feedback work with those as well. I just purchased one of these and I plan on modding it slowly over the next year or so but I'm wondering if haptics work on the tables that you can add via PC.

  • @kevgret
    @kevgret 3 роки тому +2

    nice review... quick question for you.. is the haptic feedack tied into the volume? I only get strong haptic feedback if the volume is turned all the way up... If I have the volume low the haptic feedback is low. I would think I could have strong feedback with low volume? makes it tough to play when my wife goes to sleep and I can't turn the volume all the way up

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  3 роки тому

      Thank you! for watching I don't think the haptics are tied to the volume, from what I can tell. I tried setting the haptics to high, then lowered the volume and the strength felt to be consistent when the volume was all the way down. Within the game, go to settings and scroll to the right and you can adjust the strength to the levels you prefer. Hope this helps!

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  2 роки тому +1

      Honestly John, not blowing smoke either, this has been the best investment for our game room. It was my first AtGames purchase ever and I don't have any regrets. The included Gottlieb tables aren't the best available, the Zaccaria and TAITO packs are. I play the ALP a lot, my kids and wife do as well but I'm on the machine much more. I've also hooked it up to a PC to play even more tables on Pinball FX3, VPX and Future Pinball (thousands available). I listed all my reasons for getting the ALP here: wagnerstechtalk.com/alp/#Why_the_ALP (the spouse justification section, as I like to call it). It is expandable too so you can play some great vertical arcade games on the machine with only a USB stick. Though, for that you'd want the Arcade control panel. For FX3, just released a video on the BitPixel HV connected to it, if interested: ua-cam.com/video/ZTkta8FKyXw/v-deo.html Sorry if this is more info. than you wanted. I'd rather be thorough than just say "Yes, I love it!"
      ps. I've since created a number of guides and videos on most of the available AtGames products which you can find here: wagnerstechtalk.com/guides/#AtGames Only one missing is the Gamer Pro, that one I don't own yet.

One thing to be aware of, there is currently some flipper latency on Zen tables (only). Zen is working on the issue, so some tables will play better than others at present. Also, there are roughly around 7 or so Zen tables currently available on the 4KP as it's still rather new. There are already well over 170 non-zen pinball tables you can download and install that have little-no perceivable flipper latency and don't need a PC. How does one buy a pinball table and get it on your pinball machine?

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  3 роки тому +1

      They are currently selling them as volumes, there are about 25ish tables in each volume and 4 of them available. When you buy them, they send you a download code. You then enter the code on the machine itself and download them. The volumes you can get here: www.atgames.us/collections/pinball-tables When you go to the game-packs section on the machine, check the bottom of the screen and there is an option to enter a code. Not exactly obvious on how to apply the codes.

      I'm also going to be doing the same hopefully soon (once I break down and buy a dedicated PC, which I've not decided on yet). I plan to write up instructions on how to do it, once I'm good enough at it. I have a few other projects to complete first, but it will eventually show up here: wagnerstechtalk.com/alp

      That I don't know, I guess it depends on the temperatures where you live and how extreme they are. I've had this machine for 2 years now and running great. But, it's indoors.

    Are the exciters good? Or not? Thanks for responding!!

    • @WagnersTechTalk
      @WagnersTechTalk  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Wesley, to state it's good or not is going to be subjective. Having never owned a vpin with exciters, I find they are good and the strength can be adjusted from the settings in-game. However, someone who has used other vpin machines may not feel the same way I do about them. I hope this answers your question.

      IMO, I highly recommend getting at least one of the Zaccaria volumes after your machine arrives. My personal favorite tables are Black Belt/Future World 2018. Though, there are many tables in the x4 volumes, I've not given all of them an equal amount of play-time. Also, update the firmware once it arrives (Settings -- Version). The haptics have been significantly improved from the out-of-box experience that you'll see. Do compare it yourself (no update vs. update). I'm hopeful we'll have many more tables in the future, I agree that the a1up has more popular/better games. However, we're not "stuck" with just the 22 included games on the ALP. That was one of the reasons why I decided on this machine vs. a1up.

    Really was looking for this video to address things like support for Pinball FX3 (or other premier pinball emulators). Without those, it's pretty much a closed system (and you'd be better off building your own).

      The Zac tables are definitely good tables, having a lot of fun with them. The included tables, I tend to agree with you. 95% of the time I play the Zac Paks. I'd also love to have classic PBFx Williams, Stern and maybe Zen too. The good news, plenty of moding options!
