Crown area and the front mainly the middle front hairline. I'm growing my hair long at the moment which I know is not the best for thinning hair! My routine is fin 3xdays a week minoxidil foam in the morning liquid in the evening hair vitamins as well. Question is it time to jump on dutasteride?
I have taken Finasteride for over two years since 2021, I take around 1mg 3 times a week (a bit more cause it's 5mg proscar and I cut it in 4 pieces and take 3 pieces weekly). I have done fine with it. I have given Dutasteride a chance in different ways, by itlself or just combining it once a week with Finasteride the other two days, and have done terrible with the side effects. However, this is my case, I think it depends on each person and body. But Dutasteride definitely not good for me at all
@@shadsoni7752 they stopped. Personally had urinary infection and balanitis as side effects, so it was annoying for a few days after stopping. Then they didn't continue. I gave the medication a chance three times in different moments of the year, the three times I had the same side effects. Plus much lower sexual libido. Once I stopped the medication the side effects were gone in a few days. I must say I am extremely sensitive to substances and this is my personal case with the Dutasteride but definitely is not the case for everyone. I get similar (but less intense) side effects with Finasteride if I take more than 4mg in a week. 4mg I really have no problem. So it depends on every person, every body is different
Maybe it's a matter of consistency? studies prove that finasteride symptoms go away on their own with continuous use, I bet it's the same thing with dutasteride, I think when you take it every single day the body will adjust and it will reach a balance, while using finasteride 3 time per week and then using dutasteride for the other day it will just be a mess. But that's just a theory, i don't know
You should talk about higher doses of dutasteride. 0.5mg is the standard dose, but 2.5mg is the more effective dose. I used 1mg of finasteride from 2004 to 2021, and I've been using 0.5mg of dutasteride since May 2021. I added 2.5mg of oral minoxidil shortly after starting dutasteride. I have a lot of anxiety that dutasteride might stop working because that's what happened after 16 years of using finasteride. Some days my hair looks thin, but it might just because I haven't gotten a haircut in 10 months. Having longer hair weighs it down and makes it look thinner. I noticed that when I had shorter hair after my last cut, it had more lift and volume. But it's better to use stronger medication in my case because I was young when I started finasteride. I know that it's much easier to prevent hair loss than it is to regrow hair. The "wait and see" approach is a bad idea. That's why I want to increase my dutasteride dose now.
Hi there, Do you take dutasteride daily, what dose? What is your exxperience so far- is it better than finasteride? have you experienced any symptoms when you transitioned from fin to dut? I'm currently on finasteride and thinking to switch to dut.

Hi, is there a difference between using finasteride from TEVA or Stada? (These are the only products offered in Denmark). I have been on finasteride from TEVA for 2 monts and shedding quite a lot (more than before), I’m on minoxidil as well and have been using it for 3 years.
Quite stable on Fin for a long time (> 10ys), perhaps a tiny bit of density loss at most. However started a bit too late, why I'm not completely satisfied and would love to try out adding Dut once or twice a week to regrow my slightly thinned out crown and gain more overall thickness. But I'm worried Fin on its own won't be strong enough to keep me stable and my hairloss will restart, if I should have to discontinue Dut (f.ex. because of sides or it doesn't work) after using it for some time (6-12 months), because the body has adapted to the higher strength of the Dut+Fin combination? Is this possible and a legitimate worry and does someone have experience with that?!

Dutasteride is definitely the king of drugs when it comes to hair loss. Unfortunately for me when i took dutasteride orally, i got severe heart palpitations. Very depressing as it totally worked. Not for me though, you might be similar. However! 3 months isn’t enough time to say. I’d stick on it for the year or atleast 8 months. Let time be the judge :) it’s normal to shed a bit more on it initially. Then it should ideally slow down. Mines just didn’t at all haha
I started lifting weights, and feel my testosterone levels increased and I'm noticing a hair shed, didn't have one the first 6 months, but have been shedding the last 3. should I increase?
Lifting weights isn’t going to raise total test levels….not sure where you got that. I’ve been a bodybuilder over 20 years and am very experienced with test and other anabolics. The only way to raise total test levels (significantly) is by using exogenous testosterone. A fertility drug like Clomid can increase natural test production but it’s minimal in comparison, especially after age 35. I feel all men over 40 should be on HRT whether they train or not, just for overall health. HRT is a therapeutic dose, mind you, not a superphysiological dose seen in bodybuilding or powerlifting.
I am googling, and it seems dutasteride 0.5mg is used widely for BPH, I would assume that it has close or the same effects as taking 5mg finasteride tablets ??? I switched to dutasteride and developed significant sexual side effects. So now I'm taking finasteride again and have added dutasteride once week with no side effects. How effective would this regimen be in your opinion?
For someone who (for a year) has been on oral Dutasteride at .5mg/day and oral Minoxidil at 5mg/day, and still losing ground fast with normal bloodwork, would you suggest 1.) Switching to topical Fin? 2.) Switching to topical Dut? 3.) switching to oral Propecia (brand name) at 1mg/day (brand Avodart is too expensive)?
Hello Doctors and all, this might be a dumb question. My doctor prescribed me oral minoxidil 3mg per day and proscar 5gm split in 2 per week. Should I split the finasteride dose into 3, like you usually recommend? I am also afraid that splitting the pill more will make it lose efficacy, since I am breaking the coating of the pill and the active ingredient will contact with stomach acids, before getting absorbed in the intestines. Thank you for the advice all.
So 2 things. 1, I’m not sure why you are cutting it into 3 pieces. You are supposed to cut the 5mg proscar into 4 pieces, which is ~1.25mg each. Then continue with the MWF dosing (assuming you are doing the protocol they said). 2, cutting the pills up will not decrease efficacy. The coat covering the pill is to prevent pregnant women from coming into contact with the powder of the drug (since it’s molecularly small enough to cross the skin barrier)
That's an extremely high and unnecessary dose of oral minoxidil, that's almost not even LDOM at that point. You can halve or even cut into a third of that.
by taking the least amount of the med that's needed to stabilize the hair loss. Docs have previously recommended Mon, Wed and friday finasteride@ 1mg for a total of 3mg weekly
Start fin first and add one du a week then eventually two a week and then fin eod, three du a week and fin every three days and so on until your just taking dutasteride. Shedding is all about how large of a fluctuation you create with dosing and strength of what your using.
switch to 0.5 and keep taking it every single day, the body will adjust, and you will be more than fine, take zinc, workout and try to have a balance lifestyle, it's just a temporary imbalance of estrogen and testosterone, with dutasteride your testosterone will rise, and it can temporarily turn into some estrogens. study confirmed that sides go away with continuous use and remember that the nocebo effect is also documented by studies so either way you will be fine. If you have doubts watch the youtube channel haircafe.
I starting using Duta for two months after one year of fina , but the problem is my hair falls a lot , does thing happen to you bro in the beginning specially the first three months?
I think it’s more about the type of hair loss you have. If it’s a little bit of hairline recession you’ll find a lot of guys have that. If (like me) your having rapid noticeable thinning all over your head from the hairline to the crown that would be aggressive. To be fair any hair loss in the teen years is to be deemed somewhat uncommon.

How could you not believe high test causes hair loss? Every bodybuilder goes bald unless they have the lucky DNA that has low effect on their hair.. it's like the biggest side effect of testosterone usage.
@@tazmanian4874 hey taz, this will probably shock you, and dont freak out, but if you increase test you increase dht as well. so bodybuilders go bald because they have a lot more dht, not just because they have a lot more test. use your brain for once
Its been well known that DHT aswell as T eats up your hair, prolly one of the reasons why women in their 60s and 70s usually have a lil bit of thinning. And why people who nuked their DHT still had hairloss. A little test over decades goes a long way. But in the end, the DHT will eat your hair a lot faster than the T, its more potent. Not sure what has happened there, perhaps a bad timing and it wouldve happened either way. Dont forget that your hair keeps on getting smaller, at some point its done, a marathon of accumulation. Finasteride and Dutasteride dont stop hairloss completely.

its likely just the midoxinil doing work. Dutasteride cannot be absorbed through your skin. Consider atleast hop on fin because DHT will ruin your hair in the long run.

Love the channel. I've been taken finasteride for about 10years now no real side effects. I'm 40 years old now & I've started to notice my hair starting to thin a bit worse now.
Yea Bro, me personally would switch
I have taken Finasteride for over two years since 2021, I take around 1mg 3 times a week (a bit more cause it's 5mg proscar and I cut it in 4 pieces and take 3 pieces weekly). I have done fine with it. I have given Dutasteride a chance in different ways, by itlself or just combining it once a week with Finasteride the other two days, and have done terrible with the side effects. However, this is my case, I think it depends on each person and body. But Dutasteride definitely not good for me at all
How long did the side-effects continue after discontinuation
What problems you had and how much time would it take for effects to go away completely?

That's good right . Means that it does it's thing. Thicker hair will come
Quite stable on Fin for a long time (> 10ys), perhaps a tiny bit of density loss at most.

Yes, split the 5mg into 3.

Titrate
by taking the least amount of the med that's needed to stabilize the hair loss.
Do that over 3 4 months to minimize shedding and other sides while getting onto dutasteride
If you don't get side affects then I see no reason why Dutasteride can't be used as a first line of treatment.
how would you know if you're going to get side effects before taking it
Bad idea, it’s the Nuke option, always start with Fin before Dut, Dut is no joke and can seriously eff you up.
because if you get side effects, they can take several months to subside. Whereas finasteride is out of your system in a couple days.

7:30
I mistakenly took 1mg instead of 0.5mg dutestride for a week. Now I have a low libido. It could be placebo or for real. What can I do?
Keep taking 0.5 and carry on. Stick with the dosage and you will be fine.
switch to 0.5 and keep taking it every single day, the body will adjust, and you will be more than fine, take zinc, workout and try to have a balance lifestyle, it's just a temporary imbalance of estrogen and testosterone, with dutasteride your testosterone will rise, and it can temporarily turn into some estrogens. study confirmed that sides go away with continuous use and remember that the nocebo effect is also documented by studies so either way you will be fine.
If you have doubts watch the youtube channel haircafe.
I would rather not have a potential extended treatment, if something works better then prescribe it.

I seen some idiot claim dut was end of life kinda treatment 😳
Dut all the way anytime
Thing is would you really take any advice from two men who are both going bald themselves and are trying to tell us which drugs are safer or better to use? They can’t even get their own hair loss under control, never mind somebody else’s!
They have absolutely age appropriate hair in my opinion many would be happy with. So I would say it’s maintained. Also they talk about it in another older episode, that they themselves don’t take finasteride
youre bugging
Are you seriously comparing a 65+ y/o man with yourself who i believe is under 35y/o? And the other is way behind being called a baldman, Not sure whats your point.
Maybe they are happy with thier hair and don't want side effects. They are both far from balding youre tripping bro.
Hateful commenter. Go spread your sadness and failure somewhere else.
