The most informative video on the growth cycle of hair in the history of existence. Thank you!
I've tried numerous things. The single things that actually worked in my case: A good diet, proper sleeping timings, moving your body at least for 25 minutes, eating right, using good shampoo and oil. I use only liitlexteral cocooionn shampoo plus hair oil for this purpose and it does the work. My hair fall got controlled with it.
Pleasant smell and thick oil from littllllextra coocoonnioon. Noticed positive effects following a month of using for a month. Hairfall is gone and my hair has thickened.
yeah bro, but how it exactly fixed your problem with dht? eating well and exercising doesnt affect it, its a genome thing. so you basically never had a dht problem, it was something else,

Sever stress experienced 3 to 4 months priory to the hair loss is still a guaranteed result. I’m currently losing my hair at a pretty accelerated rate from trauma back in January. Two weeks ago I had more trauma even worse so I anticipate being bald for my daughters wedding in August. I wish I could control what happens to my body when stress is involved.

Thought Finasteride was only for males.
How are you doing, now ? Hope, you got the hair back.
Just wanna say you can try taking Ashwaganda supplements. I been taking them for over 4+ months, it lowers stress by a good amount but the downside for taking it constantly, let's at more than 2 months, it can lower your seratonin levels and make you, basically indifferent and less emotional over time. I already have these symptoms but it don't bother me because I hated being stressed out 24/7. I enjoy having less emotions.
Yup, that's what I'm finding each morning, 30-50 hairs in the bathroom daily. I've got a small vacuum dedicated for it. Shafts are narrower now. Blow drying my hair makes it appear voluminous. Blessed at 59 yrs old

I have an autoimmune disorder. I was in remission for about 8 years, experienced minor flare ups but never dealt with hair loss or anything. I had a flare up and my hair began shedding like crazy, not falling out in clumps, but if I lightly tug on my hairs, a bunch come out and you can see the white follicle. I saw one dermatomyositis who said it was "just telogen effluvium" however my other doctor feels that it is induced by my autoimmune disorder even though this hasn't happened before. I am now on a immunosuppressant, I have only been on it for a year. The downside is that possible hair loss is a common side effect however my doctor said in theory if my disease is causing inflammation and hair loss, then the medication should combat it and my hair will grow back. The medication takes 6 months to work. I am really sad because I used to have long thick hair but now I have lost so much volume. My self esteem has been super low and the stress isn't helping. Has anyone else experience autoimmune disease related hair loss or excessive shedding? Does rosemary oil help and has anyone used a dermapen?
Rosemary oil will not particularly help with serious medical problems such as autoimmune conditions. Generally rosemary oil is an internet fantasy. You can easily imagine that using any oil on your scalp every day is completely impossible. What will hair look like? Going to bed with greasy hair makes no sense. In addition, needle mesotherapy should be performed with sterile microneedling preparations and certainly not with any oil. Only medical advice from a specialist makes sense, and not looking for detailed therapeutic advice on the Internet.
I’m replying a couple of years after you posted this question but yes I have a autoimmune diseases and yes I have lost a lot of hair particularly during after menopause. I also have some other conditions and subsequently on different medications. I have had to medically retire so have been under alot of stress. I went to dermatologist- diagnosed with androgenise alopecia/telogen effluvium. I have considerable less hair now especially thinning hair underneath and at the crown. How is your hair doing now? Did you try the rosemary? All the best.

I had a thyroid issue that became apparent when I began to start experiencing symptoms. One of them was hair loss. I am no longer on medication and though some of my hair has grown back, not all has. I have very dark hair so its a bit more obvious. I am also 49 yrs yrs old. I had very thick hair most of my life but once I hit my mid 40's it became thinner. I still have thickness towards the back of my head but I have thinned around top of my head. I do know that inactivity had a lot of impact on my hair loss. WHen I become active, it seems to stimulate my hair gowth which of course, does make sense but I have no idea if this is a factor. Also, eating well has a positive impact on my hair loss. Stress, along with hormones seemed to be the biggest factors. So for me, I need to get the blood pumping and manage my stress levels a bit better. Hormones and genetics I can't do much about but my parents stll have a full head of hair in their 80's although they are thinned a bit, I hope to have the same head of hair they have today. One can only hope. For now, I think eating well and reducing my stress has given me much more confidence even with my loss. I hope to continue my journey in better health and self acceptance.

That's exactly the reason hair loss will never be cured. Because a multi-billion dollar industry will go disappear over night.
With all due respect, I suspect it is probably the other way around. There is a multi-billion dollar industry BECAUSE it can never be cured. I think that there are far too many variables for us to be able to fully control it.
@@TheHairLossShow Thank you for the reply. They way I see it it's that nobody is actually looking for a "cure" in the traditional sense. Most research teams are looking for treatments that can be commercialized. But I understand that no genetic condition has been "cured" and are very unlikely to ever be cured. But the current treatments are not long-term viable solutions and with a myriad of side-effects . Hair Transplants are a good solution only if you have a good donor area and cannot do anything to someone who is a Norwood 7. That's what I understand but obviously I am not an expert nor a scientist.
@@Lidemann92But this isn’t even true. People are looking for cures. The hair cloning thing for one.
What a great video! Easy explained!
I’m only 22 and I’d say I’ve lost about 30% of my hair within a month. The hair loss started on my right side of my hairline and was very prickly/itchy. I can remember thinking it was weird that only my right side was receding but then only about a week later the left side did the same thing. It became very itchy and felt like someone barley poking me with a needle and I had to itch it. I’m losing my hair very rapidly right now. I don’t know what to do but it’s ruining my life.
I’m 24 and loss about 10% in 3 weeks, same boat as u but I’m hoping we are just shedding. It seems it can last up to 3 months but I’m not sure. I’m going to try prenatal vitamins and biotin shampoo, also a lack of iron can also be an issue. Try these things if you’d like 👍🏼
Did you have covid a couple months ago? I had covid the end of August. My hair is shedding now at an alarming rate. It’s visibly thinner. All the videos I’ve seen say it will grow back, but could shed for like six months. I think I’ll be bald before it grows back!
@@anneb889 well I wouldn’t say bald but yes it can shed for months but u have to remember your hairs that fall out will be regrowing in those months while others fall so yes more will fall than what grows back but u won’t be bald and yes your hair will look thinner but regardless it will grow back so don’t worry

Does miniaturized hair follicle sheds hair faster than non-miniaturized?
Please read my whole reasoning.
Let's assume my hair follicle has 5 year growth cycle with 3 months of telogen. When new anagen starts, fresh hair pushes old which causes shedding.
I've read that miniaturized hair follicle has shorten anagen phase. Does it mean after, for example 1 year of anagen, it stays in telogen for rest of the time? (4 years)
Or miniaturized hair follicle doesn't have "full length" growth cycle and is shorten from 5 years to let's say 2 years?
My question is - will miniaturized hair shed faster that normal hair, or they will just stop growing but still stay in the scalp until new anagen push them?
I lost about 50 percent of my hair in less than 5 months after i found out i was undermedicated on my thyroid meds( i have hashimotos) . It got better but now it is falling out again its been like this for 2 yrs now. Before my meds mess up i had very thick hair. Now i have less than half the density. Will it grow back considering that it was triggered by thyroid? Thin hair does not run in my family
If its not male pattern baldness it will very likely grow back.
Ok, so I have a question that should of been covered here. We have male pattern baldness that is caused only by DHT , and then we have natural age balding over time we lose our hair count. So if we take finasteride it will almost completely stop the DHT , but it won't stop our natural balding, so finasteride technically won't completely stop balding in ANY case because it doesn't stop balding from age. Am I right ?
Hmm if I'm correct we have a limited number of cycles for each hair follicles in our lifetime, but blocking DHT to those will increase the duration of the cycles, so naturally, even without androgenic alopecia, somebody taking finasteride or another enzyme blocker of this type would slow down the hair loss process in any case.
@@Assassunn ok makes sense
@@Assassunn also I guess that every man has DHT on his scalp and depending on the persons sensitivity to it you lose little to a lot of hair, and In the future and old age the sensitivity to DHT by a random amount over time so either way, finasteride will help no matter how hard male pattern is hitting you, it's working for me so I'll use it forever then.
Not for everyone, because little old women can have plenty of hair left. I think the androgen component is larger cause.
@@terror324 The diffuse thinning they talked about in the video has a much smaller effect on balding compared to the huge effect DHT and androgenic Alopecia has on people susceptible to androgenic Alopecia.
I wish these videos existed when I first started losing hair
No time like the present...
It happens every time I wash my hair and run my fingers through it. My hair is thick however it falls out and my hairline has began to recede slowly overtime
i’ve got the same problem
same problem only i'm female. My hair doesn't even follow a female pattern loss, it follows a male pattern loss its really weird
I'm lossing more than 200-300 hair a day, and it's starting to get more and more noticable
Might be tellogen effvulium if there are triggers and it is rapid
How’s your hair now?
I started using Minoxidil 5 per cent, and I am loosing my hair like crazy. Is it normal? What do you think of REDENDYL?
Mr. Ntinos Kostas that is normal. There is a shedding period for many who take minoxidil.

@@Ripley_Ellen does minoxidil cause hair shedding in entire scalp or the hair shedding occures only on the place where you use the minoxidil?

He is SO intelligent 😳🙏🏻
If, as you claim, that hair shedding is a normal phenomenon and that loosing 50 to 100 hairs is normal, then why that doesn't happen to DHT resistant hair follicle provided that hair has finished growing and detached from the skin ?
It does... All hair grows and falls out at the end of its life cycle. It will then grow back again on the next cycle.
It does fall out on the sides and back. The reason you don't "lose" as much on the back and sides is because these regions aren't as prone to DHT.
It totally does, it's easy to experience, I tried to firmly massage the scalp with shampoo on the back, and same surface area on the vertex and frontal lobes, then for both massages I retired my hands and counted the hairs sticking to them: it was pretty much equal.
I was anemic for many months. I’ve addressed the problem and my red blood cells are getting back into normal range. The past month my hair is shedding like crazy. I’m hoping it means the growth cycle is starting again and I didn’t loose hair for good.
The hair I’m losing is thick but thin at the bottom? Having a nightmare at the minute had covid in august started shedding a lot, run my fingers through my hair and I’ve got like 5 hairs each time.. no recession , light corners but I’ve always had light corners of my hairline also my hair is easily pulled out
Sir how to know the hair follicle is dead or alive. Please reply
i’ve been struggling with hair loss for over a year. i never really noticed how much it could affect me. i only knew it was happening bit never why. i tried doing research on why it’s falling out but i there’s so many symptoms that relate to many many different things. i tried the whole “if i shower less then maybe less hair will fall out” and i don’t really know if it’s making a difference. my hair used to grow pretty long up to my chin but i got a hair cut in around june and it left my hair really short and now my hair doesn’t grow as long as it used to. it only has gotten to the bottom of my nose. i grew extreme insecurity because of it and it affected my health really bad. i’m having the thought maybe it’s alopecia or maybe it’s vitamin deficiency but i have no clue what it could be. have dandruff as well but i don’t think that could tie in to anything with hair loss or hair shedding.
How many times do you shampoo or condition your hair? I stopped doing that down to like every 3 days or more and my hair has gotten healthier for sure, I try to keep everything as natural as possible, still clean your body but don’t use excessive hot water or harsh chemicals on natural parts of your body
There are some important things you need to do is drinking at least 2-3 liters of water and eat plenty of raw vegetables and fruits. You can keep hair healthier, cleaner and softer with Arganlife shampoo and apply it three times a week. The product made difference on my hair.
If it is genetic, no amount to f healthy food will help. So don’t kd yourself.
Fou LaPaix genetics is a factor , not the only factor didn’t you pay attention

I then abrutly stopped about 3/4 weeks ago. I have been noticing a larger than normal amount of hair shedding on my pillow each morning. The hairs are shorter, mostly about 1-2" long. Do you think this is the result of me stopping taking biotin, and should I be concerned about this?
Hi dr.
I have a concern, my hair was falling off little too much in last months . Now the long strands are not falling that much but i see very tiny, like hair in air particles on my nails when i itch my head little bit and also in the comb. Is it because of telogen effluvium or is it miniature hair leading towards balding?
Little hairs that u find is hair breakage. Don’t mean your balding.
50 to 100 hairs a day.now some folks here might starts count there shedding hairs just to find out if they are in a hair loss state.if you counted it 105,then you are in hair loss.
Is it true that Finasteride will only work for x amount of years?
Hi, very informative video. Thx a lot
Could you please a bit on seasonal shedding..Is it normal to have it every year? How long it will last?
100 days
Telogen phase occurs for 100 days
Mine started early June, it's now end of September. My phases seem longer and more frequent, with more head area affected. What conditions can account for this?
@@Sparkymag Same here mines started early june and i think it was the same last year
I have the same one this year. Same month i suffered from excessive hair shedding during summer. Was it normal?
Does fin cause shedding on healthy terminal hairs not in the resting phase?
I gained weight then my skin got extremely bad and after months now my hair is falling out like crazy everyone compliments how thick it is it was the most thing i took pride in in my appearance and now it's falling out i feel terrible
Aye bro if I were you I would try and manage stress and work on going to the gym every week and don’t forget about nutrition. This will help you immensely. I hope you find your solutions man!

@@stefanie0158what did u do to stop hair fall
My hair was falling out and shedding for 23 years. 2 months ago it stopped. I usually see 0-4 strands daily. Same thing when I wash. My last blood work showed high progesterone, everything else was normal. No. I'm not prego.
When I run my hand through my hair, a lot of thick healthy long hair falls out. When I say lot I mean a lot. This also happens when I towel my hair dry. Is this a sign of male pattern baldness. I have a history of baldness in my family. My father, his brother and their father are bald.
I thing I forgot to add one more thing, If I look intently at my hair I can see a part of my scalp through it.
And I am 22 years old
@@Broke-disastrous-guy Go and see an expert. Before it is too late. When you lose hair compeletely, it is impossible to fix it. When still have some hair, you can preserve it and even make it stronger.
@@ErsanYolcu i agree, its much harder to deal with it once the hair thins out/vanishes
@@ErsanYolcuare you balding?
In this video you say there's a latency period between the shed hair and the new hair growing back. What kind of duration/latency is that generally? I've spoken with a hair specialist who said there is no real delay and that a new hair should be coming up right behind the shed hair but I'm not so sure that's accurate.
I've been on Finasteride for 4 months and I'm shedding a good amount of hair but don't see hair coming back in it's place. I know it could be my natural hair loss before the medication has had a chance to work, but I'm still curious your thoughts on the delay, if any, between the shed hair and the new hair growing. Thank You.
How is your hair now?
@@marioblancoperera3064 I think it's sort of stabilized at this point but I'm not seeing hair I've shed growing back. I believe my situation is how it's often described with regard to someone starting to take Finasteride, that is, that some hair loss while starting to take Finasteride is because it's hair too far gone to be saved even with medication, or to say another way, it's hair that is lost before Finasteride has had a chance to completely work. Then there is hair that is shed due to Finasteride, which is supposed to grow back at some point. I believe I had a little of both going on. In a few videos these doctors talk about hair that falls out "today" doesn't grow back for 3 months. So if that is in fact the case, then it's too early to tell for me if I'm growing back my Finasteride induced shed hair. I started an obvious shedding/thinning in March and April, so if we add 3 months before it's due to grow back, like these doctors say, then my hair shed in March wont start growing till June, and hair lost in April wont grow back till July. I've heard other opinions that there are two types of hair shed/growth, which makes sense to me, that is, some hair that is shed stays in the follicle until a new hair pushed it out so you wouldn't notice the thinning for very long, if at all. Then there is hair due to shed that is pulled out by washing or brushing etc so it leaves the follicle empty; it is those empty follicles I believe that won't grow a new hair for 3 months which visually is pretty obvious if you have some rapid shedding. I'm HOPING for some grow back in the next few months, I hope these doctors are spot on about the 3 month thing. Still, I'm a NW3 most likely so if I can stop it now, I'll be happy since I"m almost 50. But the front is kinda thin where you can see my scalp in the rigth light, I hate it but I should have taken medication 10 years ago.
Update ?
@@mattbrick1246 Pretty much the same Matt. Not insane shedding/loss but still a little shedding or permanently losing some hairs to far gone to save, not at a crazy rate, but I'm saying to myself "okay hair, you can stop shedding out now you've had Finasteride in you for 6 months", hahaha....Don't forget a hair thats decided to grow again "now" is just starting and not all that noticeable initially. If my March hair shed is starting to grow back now (3 months after initial shed), then it's probably not even 1/2 a cm at the moment (typical hair grows 1 cm a month). So I'm going to give it some more time to assess. Hair thats beginning to regrow in June/July won't wont be 2cm till August/September. I"m 6 months in now on Finasteride which is the halfway point before doctors say you should assess the effectiveness of the medication. I do drop a Dutasteride once a week just to give that little extra bit of juice without incurring the increased chance of side-effects.
@@aurohs Honestly, it's hard to tell. I've definitely lost hair since taking Finasteride that hasn't come back and it won't. I believe that must be due to hair that was destined to fall out before finasteride could exert its effect in stabilizing my hair. That's common. But I could swear I lost more hair in the last year that I did in the last 3 years before that combined! Of course it may just be that I hit a point in my hair loss where it became obvious to me and concerning. Meaning as you have fewer and fewer hairs on you head the thinning seems and gets more and more prominent because you're working with so much less. Or I've become more sensitive to DHT in the last few years. And as you come to terms with your loss you accept a "new normal". My new normal is really totally representative of how my family loses their hair. My hair loss is not abnormal for my family. I have a receding hairline at the temporal corners (left and right top), and overall front thinning but the center-front is strong and right behind the front I have the thinning between the front top and rear top that goes laterally across my head connecting the to the thinning temporal corners. Exactly like my uncles and grandfather on dad's side. I started Finasteride in January so January will be my 1 year assessment. I'm confident I'm stable now at NW 3, but as I said in a previous post I really should have started this about 5 years ago. Oh, well can't go back and NW3 at 50 is something lots of fellas wish for.
Speed up to x1.50 and be relieved 😅

Great info guys
I went to a dematologist and they breifly looked at my hair with their hands and told me to get a blood test. No microscope to the scalp or telling me what is going on. Do you think I need to go to another doctor?
Go to another doctor. The doctor I saw did a blood screen, looked at my hair/scalp with a microscope. We went through tons of questions asking about my sex drive, energy levels and so on. I spent an hour with this guy.

Hello Dr.
First of all thanks both for your informative content!
I have a question, pls reply:
I have super agressive mpb that started as 16 year old (diffuse thinner). My regiment since I’m 18 is 0.5mg Dutasteride daily and 10% Minoxidil every night. As I was 21 years old I had a hair transplant at the front with 1000 grafts. It costed me so much money.. Right now I‘m 25 years old and I have never stopped with medication. My hair loss is progressing and I really don‘t know what to do?
I‘m thinking of adding low dose of Oral Minoxidil 0.625mg?
Dermaroller 1.5mm 1x a week?
Do you have other ideas/advice?
Oh and tue to a dermatitis (as I used too much hair fibres) I‘m now using Ketoconazol Shampoo 2x week.
I‘m desparate and really need your or someons advice.. I really don‘t understand why the hair loss is progressing so fast now..
Thanks!
sorry
