- In this video, I take a deep dive into my ever-growing Warhammer pile of shame! From two full Leviathan kits and Dominion to towering Knights and the complete contents of the Imperium and Mortal Realms magazines, it’s time to finally face the backlog. Alongside Space Hulk, Lord of the Rings, Eldar, and Orks, there's plenty to unpack and discuss.

Had to do inventory a few weeks back and it was around 15 battleforce boxes, 11 combat patrols, 2 Dominion, 2 Leviathan, Skaventide, 2 9th edition Starter set, 1 Kill team Hivestorm, Silent King, Krondys, Celestant on Stardrake, The Lion, Acastus Knight Porphyrion, Cerastus knight Lancer, Acheron, Castigator, 3 Questoris Knights, and this is just the boxes, outside that i have assembled/primed 8k points Deathguard, 10k point Tau, 5k point Space Marines, 3k points Orks, A Baneblade, 9 Drop Pods, Terrain to fill 2 gaming tables. And I am looking at the Dark Angels Battleforce, and waiting for the Guard one to come around. I paint around 7-10k points each year, so I have projects planned for some time.
That is a large count, but the through put on the army painting sounds massive haha I am impressed and put partially to Shame 😄
Are you doing all forces in the same scheme and batch painting? Or going unit by unit ? (And I guess what Sept and scheme are you painting the Tau and Orks ?)

@@TheMiniPaintingPage I paint my Tau in the Vior’la Sept, I managed 2000 points during Sept’ember. I paint my Orks as Goffs, and it is looking like I will manage 2 Stompas, a Gorkanaut and 4 Mek Gunz during Orktober. One of the joys i find from collecting an entire army before starting is that they will all look like they belong together. Each army gets their own colorscheme and basing, but all my Orks are Goffs, all my Tau are Vior’la etc, the only instance where I am not following that is with my Space Marines, I divide them pretty evenly between Ultramarines and Dark Angels, and I have about 5k points in each painted up right now.
I will often go through an entire unit-type one at a time, but I have been buying a lot of cheap second-hand armies, so I will find myself with more then what makes sense, like at the start of the year i batch painted all the Poxwalkers I had, that was 151 models. Last year during Sept’ember I painted 150 Fire Warriors and 90 Kroot models, this year it was 2 Stormsurges and 14 Broadsides. Some of the other armies I collect are smaller, more balanced and makes more sense in their numbers, like my Necrons at about 3k points painted, and outside of painting the Silent King at some point, i have no current plans on expanding upon that.
Nice schemes, it is admirable to get through so many in batch without going crazy.
I think my largest batch paint was 100 zombies for Vampire counts back in the day. Took a while and got repetitive buy have to say seeing a block ok 100 painted guys is a nice sight so the end of the armies must be a endorphin hit 😄
If I ever have an army paint off and your name comes up I will remember to run 😀

Last season of Kill Team, plus Hivestorm, and just pre-ordered the new starter box.
The Space Marine sides of Leviathan, Dark Imperium, and Indomitus
All last season of Warcry, less about 4 of the latest warbands. Briar & Bone is in my Element cart as we speak.
Underworlds from Season 4 with a few recent warbands outstanding. I have about 4 of the earlier warbands.
About 3000pts of Dogs of War dependent on finished unit sizes for the Old World
About 50 or so of commemorative or character minis, including the Warhammer+ minis
6000+ points of Aeldari mostly plastic apart from a few Warlocks and Farseers.
All 3 of the main Bloodbowl boxes plus Amazons.
Blackstone Fortress, no expansion, unfortunately. Cursed City, including the expansion boxes and minis.
Dominion, plus a load of Nurgle stuff, including the recent box with the dude on the horse.
Plus, several of the annual battle boxes such as Piety and Pain, Aeldari and Iron Warriors. A load of Firstborn Space Wolves for bits
Then about £500 worth of other manufacturers metal minis. Hasslefree, Cartoon Miniatures, Heresy Miniatures, a couple of 54mm historical minis.
That's most of it I think

I never got into warcry etc, imagine "smaller" Bite size boxes with a fair few models stack up quickly.
How long has that been amassing for ?

I died on the inside i have a back log from 2006 still 😂. That's as far back as im willing to go
Ouch, I have little from that point still in box.
Was really good at building and painting things to avoid backlog but that changed around 2010 when the buying surpassed the building haha

Sh@t tonnes of grey plastic krak… and FW resin. I’m about to retire so I like the grey pension comments as finally I will actually have time to paint more without pressure of getting stuff done before I disappear overseas with work again…
Vorax are great, the ammo feeds are a real pain, make sure you heat bend them really good.
That sounds good. It does seem to be a lack of time that prevents rather than passion or ability (I think , speaking fir myself hah)
Fun work overseas. Do you try and take smaller bits for while there, or is it not practical, etc ?
And thanks for rhe tip on the Vorax, when I get to them I will have the hit water on standby

I imagine that there are people who do feel ashamed, but in most cases, they shouldn't. Seems to be an external stigma that got internalised
Don't see car collectors upset they have a couple of cars etc. If it brings you joy, then no shame, haha

It will all be painted, 100% it will.
But at most in honesty if the channel grows large in the next few years might look at give-aways or something similar to give back to everyone - but cannot say firnsure at the moment.
What army do you prefer or collect?

So you expect the usual chaos jabs then prior to the Lion.
DA are cool, bringing the idea of space knights more than others. Besides, the small amount of DA bits on the channel i haven't tackled much of their kits (and one was painted as rick and morty so prob don't count 😆 )
I am tempted by Lion but not made the jump, but then again I do like most of the primarch models haha 😆
Do you prefer the HH Lion model or 40k recent sculpt ?

Fair, all gw or mixed ? I kinda feel that: if it can be afforded and it makes you happy, why not stock up.
I think this channel helps me in dropping the number on top of background hobby uses 😄.
Painting 1-2 combat patrols a month keeps the piles away 😆 😂 even if I don't game as much as I would like 😄

@@TheMiniPaintingPage Yeah all GW, but I also have way too much battletech and asoiaf. I definitely lost track, most of it was heavily discounted impulse buys. Being interested in most factions doesn't help.
That is a song that sounds familiar. Gw Christmas boxes tend to get me with volume and discounts.
Never venturers onto the realms of battletech before so have no idea on the models or game really 🤔 may need to check it out

It's possibly true. But I have had times where having it can be in handy.
I have a small necron/ork combo army, which came about quickly due to having the kits on hand 😄
Also if I sold it I would most likely buy more kits for use on the channel anyway.
Assume that's how you manage your collection? Or just paint what you buy etc ?

I genuinely have no benchmark except youtubers videos on it 😆 . The imperium and mortal realms are a fair bit that I compressed, but I do get the feeling I need to get the number up 😆
What numbers are you looking at in the dark realms of the storage area 😆 ?

Genuinely, I don't have a good comparison of mine vs. others (though comparison doesn't matter, it would be interesting)
