The method at 5:10 worked for me! I held the keys and the power button for about 10 seconds and the Mac turned on. Thank you! I have a 2016 MacBook Pro.
It might not work for you but mine was off and didn’t start anymore but still made a charging noise when plugged in. so I de charged it by using the outlet of the MacBook and charging my iPhone and other devices and when it was empty, I was able by plugging the power back in to start it up again

thank you so much! i have a matlab coding exam in 4 days and my mac book pro (2017, 13 inch, 2.3 ghz dual-core intel core i5) died today. I unplugged the charging cable, tried the the last two keyboard combination tricks, plugged it back and it turned on. I watched 3 other videos on how to fix the issue but only these tricks worked.
Did not work for me either. I clicked on System Preferences and selected to erase everything back to factory settings but it never turned back on after a hard reset. This happened about an hour ago. I guess next up is to reach out to Apple
