I think the 1 degree rotation would be convinient enough for mappers instead of 0.1 degree. 15 degrees feel very restrictive yet 0.1 feel stupidly precise
As a person who is never going to use this feature anyway, yeah I agree!

Rather than limiting it and have the mappers edit a text file by hand, we could have different modifier keys that allow for different degrees of precision
Like for example: holding the control key while rotating for 15° snaps, alt for 18° snaps and shift for granular, precise adjustments of 0.1
Handy because you don't need to open a separate dialog for it or lower your mouse sens wayyy down, and it is relatively easy to pick up, if it works for digital audio workstations it could work in practice for Lazer.

I think a rotation like Blender does (being able to hit R and type a number manually) would be very nice.
That's the really obvious and effective option I feel like. There's even room for an easily accessible text box in the inspector. Perhaps there's even a possibility to add profiles that you can conveniently click on directly

Hi, just wanted to say that yes, the flash warning does help in some cases for people with epilepsy. Please do not remove it entirely. I think it should be disabled on a map with background video and storyboard disabled and only play once per map per session. I would also like to add that seeing the flash warning at the beginning of a replay can be very helpful when people post clips online, because even though someone with epilepsy can disable the storyboard and video and use a non-triggering skin, that warning is basically the only heads up you get when youre watching someone else
I understand that it may be annoying for replays that start while the warning is still showing so I think it'd be best to have it as a toggleable option (on by default) and/or have the symbol fully fade out before approach circles are drawn. lower AR can be hard to read with the 3, 2, 1 and flash warnings still present
I think the epilepsy warning should just be when you launch the game
Honestly though. I think pretty much every rhythm game should just have an epilepsy warning at the start. Even better, since I'm sure those with epilepsy are sensitive in different amounts, there could be a setting that allows the user to configure just "how much" flashing they can take before a warning should appear. But obviously I don't know very much about this, so I'm probably just missing something.
I think there should be one at the beginning of each map if storyboard is on, but it should definitely be a toggle

the 15 degree rotation seems restricting for mappers, it could be nice to have the box able to type in or even a dropdown to choose your own rotation degree choice

The feature I want from osu!lazer the most is probably per map gameplay settings... Some of the older beatmaps have terrible hitsounds, so I disable beatmap hit sounds. However, this setting applies system wide and I have to turn it back on again when I switch to a map that has acceptable sounds. Same for other settings such as colors and background dim and...idk
Why not give both rotation options? Hotkeys just speed up the process imo .1° changes are also really uncommon. So why not just make it roate by a whole degree at first then enable finer rotation with ctrl or something.
Shift = 15°
Ctrl = .1° for fine rotation i guess.
Shift + ctrl = 18° or smth else

@@absurddive i think dropdowns are a lost end in the new editor. Like i get why they wanna try it out, but from what i see it only makes the workflow in editor slower, especially with functions that you use alot dropdowns feel kinda bad.
this would be nice, although the text box dialog option we have in stable absolutely needs to be implemented regardless.

I think a good improvement for the degree rotation is when the cursor is further away from the rotating button while holdling it, the less sensitive it is so that it's more precise
bro taking a note out of apples book with the video skipping thing, very handy tho so i could see it being a good change, although i still think the other suggestion of jus allowing you to type in an amount of degrees would probably be better

Hope theres an option for disable it, in my case when playing it is seen that the notes are broken by those lines

been playing on my ipad - so so amazing how far that's come. it's actually fun to play now. i hope the performance can keep improving
good to see more work on the editor, since it's pretty much the only thing holding me back from never using stable ever again (exaggeration). I'd love to map with some of the features lazer offers but some things are still missing
There is an issue on iOS im not sure if renderer related, but maps that start with a lot of hit objects load very slow and laggy, but if you stall on the loading page (where you can edit offset) and make it take longer till the map starts, it isnt nearly as laggy

tbh the HDHR vs DT score multiplier change is the opposite of what it should be. If anything, I would want good acc DT scores at the top of the leaderboard, not out of it. Something like 1.15x DT. This just feels like another punch in the face, because 1.5x Speed is so much more difficult than HDHR on 99% of maps.
Realistically, adding 0.025x for every 10% of added speed (instead of 0.02x) would fix this without removing standard DT from most leaderboards
they said a while ago that they were going to greatly change hd and hr weighting too, just give it some time
@@parzy_osu They said it at the end of this video too. The part I dont really get about it tho, is that the mod multipliers are only balanced against each other. So the only thing this does without changing HD and HR is banishing DT out of leaderboards. I get that its also for balancing incremental speedup, but changing the only speedup that was previously already there without the others seems weird to me.
@@Tim_593 The leaderboards currently mean absolutely nothing and are in a state of constant changes, plus all of this is completely irrelevant because HD and HR changes are already planned.
i think once directx/vulkan and pp (on leaderboards) is finally functional, most of the players would start transitioning to lazer, myself included

I wish to see osu!mania could be played in portrait in android devices or maybe crop its interface in landscape because the interface is too small
it's nice seeing all these editor changes, but when will there finally be the android performance improvements? My game literally runs on 20 fps on a pretty decent phone that can handle Genshin Impact but not clicking circles it seems (no matter which game mode)

I wish there were more offset options (and properly labeled). Audio offset, chart offset judgement line offset, etc.) That addition would solve some hardware issues i think
this would make the game not work. sounds would be misaligned. we want to avoid that if possible because hitsounds are everything in osu!.

epilepsy warning should probably be just how it was before but add an option to disable it in settings
You could run peppy's voice through Izotope RX's mouth de-click module, it removes all those gross sticky mouth noises. The tool isn't free but I could process audio for you if you'd like

It's been a while
As a casual mapper (0 ranked beatmaps) the new editor is miles ahead in terms of ease of use, and the ability to create complex sliders is incredible.
However I have some annoyances with it that I'd like to be addressed:
- Edit button from main menu shouldn't jump straight to creating a new map but to at least let me select a map to edit like in stable.
- The selection field should be able to be manipulated outside of the play field (by zooming in or panning). I think the play field being an absolute barrier to anything outside of it is annoying when I'm creating something complex or just doing some shitmapping.
- The default beat snap is 1/1 when it should be 1/4. Additionally it should remember the beat snaps when changing between triplets and common as it's very annoying to set it back to 1/4 every time I switch from either mode.
- Adjusting slider velocity can be a bit finicky sometimes. Also CTRL-Z doesn't work for changing slider velocity
- The upper wave timeline where I can select objects is very narrow. I understand osu is a cursor precision game but this is too user unfriendly IMO
Also natively implementing OliBomby's Mapping Tools would be cool
We're already tracking most of this feedback with solutions in mind!
@@DeanHerbertMooCow Also the selection field I was talking about is when I'm selecting a lot of objects and I can't for example rotate them because I can't get to the rotating icon that's off the field and under the interface. Thanks for the response as well

Can you fix the alt + tab bug. It's like when you are on osu lazer and when u use alt + tab to return to osu lazer window, it just pitch black. I'm on windows 8.1
im on win 8.1 too. when that happens, press alt+enter twice to cycle to fullscreen bordered -> exclusive fullscreen
Hope there will be an update for osu mania in mobile because It's too small to hit the notes. Hope it's sizable.
my only problem is performance, so if they manage to make lazer run as fine or better than stable than i'll switch. and i don't like the mania acc right now, at least i want to turn on the classic mod for that so i can enjoy the same score V1 with a better skin system.
have you tried recently? we've been putting a lot into performance.
@@DeanHerbertMooCow it runs on open gl better than on directx 11 (in menu i have 1000 fps with opengl, with dx11 i have 500-400 fps) , but there are song glitches, like when i retry a song so much it starts to stop in the beginning and it delays. It shows 300 fps but sometimes it feels less, i feel stuttering especially when i am in the mod selection menu. I know that this is an ongoing and hard development process, but i really like lazer so far in standard gamemode and taiko, so i hope it will run better.

can someone explain different beetwen directx and opengl in terms of performance? because i find play with opengl make game easier with slightly slower and smooth apearring object (maybe i am wrong, but i feel so), otherwise with directx it make game slightly faster but not as smooth as opengl

the ar from osu classic is the same from osu lazer? i play in ar 9 and in the classic i always get 90%+ acc, but when i play in lazer my acc don't pass 75%. i want to know why

I downloaded it and it doesn't work very well on low-end PCs, they can't do an optimization for OSU! LAZER
the update on my Bday
I don't whether its my pc or the game, but switching over to DirectX without locking my fps to 60 causes every element on screen to have grotesque screen tearing, to the point where elements flash in and out repeatedly...? I've updated to DirectX 12 and literally every driver possible which I could find but it still happens anyways.. :(
some specs: Optiplex 3020, 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel(R) Core i5-4590 with Intel HD Graphics 4600.

That OpenGL TOTALLY damaged my intel version osu, it doesn’t work anymore, i uninstalled it and reinstalled it many times for a month and it won’t start.
I deleted every content related to osu to reinstall it like if it was new, still doesn’t work.
you can delete framework.ini to reset the remderer.

The main problem that I have with the lazer editor is that right-click doesnt auto delete
will there ever be an ultra lite version of lazer? my pc, even with the lowest settings, cant do more than 100 fps, and i often experience huge frame drops (input latency is pretty high too)
there will be performance improvements, just give them time
performance should be improved once they finish work on all of the renderers and stuff.
Just play with vsync on, why do you even need more than 60fps on a bad PC?
Either you run a lot of programs in thr background or you just have a really bad PC in general
I'm playing on a laptop with 8GB and using only iGPU and I can run at 240fps no problem

One thing lazer really needs is to distinguish pausing and quick restarting, setting the delay to 0 makes pausing normal but makes quick restarting instant too and that is kind of annoying.
Also, for some reason you cannot turn off video/sb or change dim setting in the pause menu, meaning you’re bound to the settings you picked at the start of the map until you restart.
ctrl-o for settings in pause for now.
