Mania's accuracy based system makes it my favorite mode in osu BY FAR, i'd be playing Standard much more if it had an accuracy based system

Good update. Can we get improvement on song select sorting? I really miss having the ability to sort by rank achieved. Maybe even some search filters for finding which ones have certain rank achieved?(That second one might be too much)

They can only do 2 lines of coding a day, simply adding stuff that was ALREADY in the stable version is way too much work. Most convoluted and slow paced project ever

2:15 - hopefully this won't affect score, since imo changing the colors of circles to beat snapping isn't a huge advantage
esp since it doesnt on mania and that one is Way more acc based
it's a gigantic advantage, especially on maps with low AR and/or maps with complex rhythms
It has a slight advantage, it makes the player know how to hit the next notes that aids reading, compared to not having that at all by default. It should have a 0.9x/0.95x score multiplier and it should be in the Difficulty Reduction mods section imo
Feel like osu!framework would be a great base to make an actually good open-source karaoke game

1:41 this is a nifty addition -- one that would be of great use in the skin selection as well, since there are many users that have hundreds of them. skin search + grouping would make for a great improvement.

Didn't know Mania score is calculated 99% accuracy, very nice. I always prefer accuracy over combo in rhythm games.

Thanks for the updates! I have just one doubt that I put forward many months ago I don't remember how long ago currently, since it wasn't addressed I'll ask again, the HP in lazer is way more than in standard, the sections that I can't pass in standard I can chain miss entirely and still pass in lazer. This removes the aspect of difficulty from the map in terms of getting a pass. I personally have a collection of maps that I want to pass on standard most of which I passed with way worse misscount in Lazer and that doesn't feel good.
So is this supposed to change or is the HP system going to remain as it is right now? I'd prefer to have old HP system if possible.
Thanks for the efforts either way, really appreciate what you guys are doing.

scoring for mania has always been accuracy based

as a fairly active mania and vsrg player i really really do not think synesthesia should be a mod for mania as snap coloring vs. lane coloring is just a playstyle choice in most cases
keeping it as a setting is much better not only for convenience but seeing as for most people its just a playstyle choice it’d be really weird to seperate playstyles like this
at least thats what i think
before we'd consider doing this, we'd implement "default mods" which could be automatically turned on when starting the game. so don't worry too much about the convenience factor - we'll make sure to get that right 👍

Im having a problem that lazer keep open as adminstrator and i just couldnt do anything to fix it, is there anyone know how to fix it?
This likely means you installed the game with "run as administrator". You might need to reinstall it, or change all the game files' permissions to allow your local user to modify them.

Hello, please add ability to upload osu maps from osu lazer. I made a map, xonverted it into osk and tried to open it in normal osu, and it just broken
5:15 CAN WE PLEASE JUST HAVE THE IMAGE ON THE SIDE LIKE STABLE? (or give us the option to enable it in the settings) song recognition is so important but when its blown up like this, no thumbnail is recognizable when all you see is the neck of an anime girl. look at the Fuujin "Brave Girl" map in the gameplay. How are you supposed to recognize that map when going through thousands of different maps? This is literally the only reason why I don't play lazer.
Don't worry, he'll get to it after slightly changing graphics opacity (four month long project), fixing unnoticeable visual bugs (six month long project), adding a myriad of mods and features that two people asked for (typically a 24 month long project, but delayed six months by arguing with people about NOT adding other features, arbitrarily.) So you're looking at only 40 months, that's fast!

@@LongNguyen-dh3bm do you mean when clicking on each individual map? If so I've never seen anyone click on each individual map when scrolling through their song list to find songs they want to play. Its a small change but it greatly affects the total experience in the game by slowing down the time it takes to select songs.
@@DeanHerbertMooCow I appreciate the work, care and optimization put in to bring lazer into reality. but this is something I cannot just ignore. This quite literally is the only reason I use McOsu instead for fun, increasing bpm on stream maps and other general practicing and experimenting.
I could be wrong but I don't see how adding the option will tank performance especially if you can make the smaller image a lower res with a plain background or whatever is included in the menu-button-background in the custom skin folder.
with text being harder to see and thumbnails harder to recognize on the newer version, I am convinced if you add an option to revert to the previous style just for the song selection many people that prefer simpler UI WILL use it. the trend for osu! players changing their UI preference for something Simple over time is not just a coincidence. (in my opinion)
I think this could also be something that people will not really talk about or even realize even if it effects their experience because this is how it was for me back when I first tried lazer.
Even with my hope for Lazer with how responsive and great the game feels, maybe Lazer isn't for me because of the UI and that's fine but Ill always complain about it until its fixed and fully modular.

fix your ranking. i had an s rank 96% on a 4 star that shouldve been a top 15 play but because my score was somehow only 880k it was a top 2k play. how does that even make sense

Hypothetical question: How possible would it be to implement a score system similar to (Achieved pp amount/Maximum possible NM pp amount)*10000 score*max combo of the map+spinner bonus?
If this could work, it would probably have the benefits of mod multipliers not needing to be adjusted and since it scales with pp, it will have the same issues as pp, which means that it can be adjusted it future reworks too. It might also be cool for scorefarmers like myself since the cap of 1 million score in scorev2 encourages to play shorter maps in comparison to scorev1's encouragement of playing longer maps.
we don't ever intend on combining pp and scoring. pp is meant to be dynamic and adjustable. that won't work for scores.
Android optimization?
Has there been conversations on how is score v2 gonna impact the tournament scene? More specifically the feeling side of things.
I remember watching the world cups and each song being tense till almost the very end since the old score, being so combo dependent, meant that one mistake could completely at almost any time.
With an accuracy focused scoring system, could it be way too easy to predict the outcome of a song once a team has earned a certain advantage?
Have there already been tournaments with score v2? How do they feel?
I just hope that feeling of suspense and excitement isn't lost.
score v2 has been used in tournaments for over half a decade.
@@DeanHerbertMooCow Making score v2 accuracy dominated will make watching tournaments pretty boring since it will be quite clear who will win in the first minute of playing
