Ariat Rebar Pull-On Boot Review - Ariat is well known in the work boot world and many people consider them the best work boots because of their price and quality. It's hard to klnow exactly how good work boots are unless you are able to cut them in half and see what's inside of them. Ariat sent me their popular work boot the Rebar wedge to be cut in half to see if it holds up the the reputation ariat has of making some the best work boots.

Really curious to see some mountaineering boots. They are designed to withstand the worst condition so they should be of really good quality. Some Scarpas or La Sportiva should be interesting!

I wore these out in 3months, they started to split in the heel. The outsole went quick. You’re spot on with it being a weekend boot, not a everyday boot.

That's not good. I have a pair of similar (price & design) Rocky work boots that I've been wearing for years, the heel finally started wearing out, but they're still very usable.

    • @LillianAmanelilly
      @LillianAmanelilly 3 роки тому +1

Outsole is expected to wear out quick depending on what kind of work you do-
Light squishy rubbers tend to wear out fast, especially if you’re walking around a lot, or on rough surfaces.
The trade off is that they are more comfortable than a boot with a denser rubber sole.
3 months is honestly about average - but I’ve seen guys go through them in as fast as two weeks, and seen them last as long as two years. Just depends on what you use them for, and honestly - just you as well. Can put two guys in the same boot doing the same job, but how they walk can strongly impact the wear and tear on a boot.
If you still want the comfort of a wedge sole, try looking for a hybrid wedge! A few brands I’ve seen (timberland, Georgia, and Wolverine) have come out with boots that use mainly a wedge sole, but have a layer of denser rubber at the bottom, which hopefully lessens how fast the boot can wear out.

You can still buy handmade shoes in lots of parts of Mexico. A lot of their supply chain is local. For example, in the U.S. it's normal to go and buy a pack of tortilla or bread from the grocery store. In Mexico, you walk down the block and buy tortilla or bread from the local bread maker.
Same applies to their wet markets. You point at the chicken youre gonna have to eat for lunch.

I don't understand this view that these boots need cork. It is not more breathable as it is mixed with binding agent and then sandwiched between two layers of glue when the sole is rebuilt. It also has to be replaced most times when the sole is replaced.
Yet a foam layer in the welt cavity or midsole is considered a negative because it has to be replaced when the boot is re-soled. And it can actually be more breathable than cork as many foams have an open structure.
In a boot like this especially, where the sole is also a thick layer of foam and very cushioned , having a cork layer that moulds to the shape of your foot offers no advantage.

Can you review something from shoes for crews? I'm an auto tech and I wear them quite often because I don't really like boots and the slip resistant tread is amazing. I'm curious to see why they're more comfortable while walking than when standing. I tend to stand a lot and at the end of the day my feet are killing me. The thing that keeps me coming back is the slip resistant sole, it simply will not slip no matter what the conditions.

Good boot if you're in a warehouse environment but I really doubt it would hold up to much more.

For the same or a little less money i'd prefer the Buffalo 1808 boots, leather goodyr welted sole, sturdy boots.

Can you please try to cut open women’s shoes? I’m curious about the cross section some comfortable flat shoes, like tory burch, salvatore ferragamo and chanel. Or even cutting open some high heels. Would want to know how worth it they are.

You should check out 7 Leguas, a mexican brand. I just got a pair of their Haiker boots and they seem pretty nice although I haven't broken them in yet. They seem pretty nice, they could probably send you a pair if you ask them.

Can you try some Dubarry sailing shoes please? I have a pair and while they were about 50% more expensive than Sperrys, they are several times better. Never had Sperrys last for more than a year but I’ve had my Dubarrys for at least five years and they are so much more comfortable.

My wife needs a good pair of steel/safety toe work boots. She’s in them 40+ hours a week, I’m not concerned about the price, just want to get get her something quality and comfortable. She had a $200 pair of redwings, sorry I don’t remember which model, and she’s not a fan of them. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
