I don't see what's the point of this video. Watch the videos from Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) and Orangutan Jungle School instead. They rescue, train and release orphans back to the wild.

The end result is the same Princess lives wild now, as this guy stated.
They just added some teaching of sign language to see if orangutans can do that as an experiment but she was never fed human food or treated as a human baby.

@bob lake Why? They grow up to be the size of a human only much stronger and live almost as long. To keep an animal like that besides being cruel is insane. Wildlife trafficking is extremely cruel. Infants normally stay with their mothers until they're at least 8 years old. To acquire a baby, the mothers are usually killed. Orangutans are already critically endangered and the illegal exotic pet trade is helping to accelerate that. If you just want a pet there are thousands of unwanted dogs and cats that get euthanized every year. Please rethink this decision. It's not worth it.

This is why you leave apes alone and let them live with in THEIR needs NOT HUMAN NEEDS! You LEAVE APES ALONE and NOT HUNT/POACH them! If you find an orphan then take the orphan to a sanctuary so it can be taught how to be an ape then when ready return them back to the wild!

jesus this is so god awful. Only at Camp Leakey could someone lease out an orang utan. Why Birutė hasn't been charged w crimes against humanity is only even more surreal.
Don't take my word for it... just read (any of) Linda Spalding's essential memoir _A Dark place in the Jungle._

I know you don't really mean that. I know you understand it's the quality of their lives that's important, not the lifespan itself. Would you rather be in an unnatural environment that's foreign to you just so you could live a few years longer? Of course you wouldn't. There's a reason we are put in our own unique environments. Always remember: "It's not nice to fool mother nature."

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this! We don't know the history of alot of these primates. To say they are better off in the wild, blah blah blah, just shows people ignorance and uneducated opinions. Some of these primates are so better off being in human presence. They'll actually live a much better quality of life and are at their happiest. It takes a special person to have the patience and care for these animals. Unless you can speak orangutan and they tell you they aren't happy and want to be in the wild, you can't say for sure what these animals would rather be doing. They're getting much more attention and having their minds stimulated in more ways than just being in a tree. These orangutans are living their lives to the fullest! It makes me happy seeing this, and knowing that there's great human beings taken the time to care for these primates. Orangutans are the closest primates to human beings. I thought it was chimps at first, but I was wrong. Some people should be in the wild instead of living amongst other human beings, lolol!!

@@c.c.1070 Exactly. Never believe what you hear on e TV screen.....never. They tell one while the exact opposite is happening. All the orangutans you see on TV screens don't even get counted into the population of orangutans. Tens of thousands of orangutans in sanctuaries and zoos that will never be counted. Because why? BECAUSE THRY ARE TAME. Even big adult males that are raised by people are tame and lovable. All they do at these sanctuaries is teach them survival of the fittest! To be at constant war with one another. Very evil.
