- July 2020 was a full month of style and photoshoots from celebrities from all over the world! Nicki Minaj announced that she was pregnant, and in one announcement photo reflected the virgin mother in a Di Petsa gown. The reign of french fashion darling Marine Serre continues as she dresses all four members of Blackpink in her signature crescent moon. We discuss Prince Beatrice's take on her grandmother's dress, which was turned into a horrid wedding gown. Chloe x Halle works with Fendi and hoping to see the two continue in an ambassadorial role, while Yara Shahidi stuns in a bit of Kenneth Ize. We then discuss Tik Tok stars like Dixie D'Amelio, Charli D'Amelio, Addison Rae, Michael Le, and Josh Richards as they all wear luxury looks from Vanity Fair. Overall, it's a month with looks to remember that shockingly was quite enjoyable!

Princess Beatrice is taller than the queen meaning the bubble hem was likely adjusted and ‘let out’ with the satin trim so that the dress would fit her in length. The sleeves were added so she could be married at the church (modesty rules). 🤷🏻♂️ it’s not a fashion win, but it’s definitely something borrowed

This, plus, the queen was clearly wearing a larger petticoat under the dress. With the smaller circumference, the bubble hem may not have looked as good?
The sleeves were a crime...she's not in line to the throne, throw a little capelet over for the ceremony, then take it OFF. And that fabric at the bottom couldn't be better?
Aw, I thought it was great she wore her grandmother’s dress! I tried to wear my mom’s wedding dress when I got married but it turns out I am WAY bigger than her! (She is super small!)

I really liked the rundown this month. I feel like people are in a groove now and figured out how to pull looks. You should totally check the designer for Flo Milli’s album cover on TikTok. He goes through a his design from concept to final look and it’s really great. He did a video for that outfit and a couple others he did for like Doja Cat and another female rapper.

While I’m all for altering and redesigning old dresses, it wasn’t done nearly as well as it could have been. If you want sleeves and a not bubble hem that’s fine. Do it well, match the fabric.

The photos of Simone Biles were made to accompany a piece on her being violated, thus editorial style and contrasting coloring would have not made sense. They are muted for a reason. This is not an opinion on Leibovitz as a person but her artistic choice seems to make sense. Accusing her of not knowing how to photograph black people is just ignorant given her portfolio. This said hiring a black photographer after the vogue challenge would have been appropriate and long due anyway.
Honestly, I get the subdued lighting but Simone does look grey. There were several edits on Twitter that show what it could have been. Anne has had a long storied career but it can’t be denied people with a deep skin tone have not been a large part of it. The whole shoot could have been better
