SEPTEMBER 2020 FASHION ROAST (Why Didn't Emily Wear This In Paris?)

- September is usually a month that everyone looks to for fashion, and the celebrities last month for the most part delivered! Kim Kardashian took on the pagoda shoulder jacket by Balmain, and gave the style a quite smart little boost! Expect to be seeing those sharp shoulders for a long time as Balenciaga & Rick Owens also hopped on the trend invented by Pierre Cardin. Lily Collins, the star of the new Netflix show "Emily in Paris" showed out in one of France's most renowned brands Saint Laurent Paris. A bit of a smart marketing move, but also a quite nice moment for Latex! Miley Cyrus has been developing a quite lovely relationship with Mugler designed by Casey Cadwallader, and a sheer bodysuit with black mesh outlining and contouring only further cemented how powerful the duo have become. Of course, there was Lizzo as well, whomst we must congratulate on her first Vogue cover! But unfortunately, the styling of the shoot does not come anywhere near matching the energy Lizzo gives off, which is a downright shame, although not Lizzo's fault!

The wrap dress they put Lizzo in is a style I've seen my mom in 100 times. It seems all designers know how to do with plus size women is wrap dresses. It's sad.

Don’t worry I’m working on a clothing line for all sizes and learning the lines and patterns that fit well on a plus size, it’s all about the right size and placement of darts and if you want lines for your pattern make sure they are vertical lines!! Gives more slimming appearance than horizontal lines or triangle lines any peace and love ❤️✌🏼

BTS' stylists always choose the most boring things for any american appearances. Things they wear in Korea, like their album photoshoots, korean magazines. Like their performance fits from last online concert are sooo much more interesting! Playing with lace, layers, masculinity and femininity and then they go to US and put on a suit, probably so people start taking them seriously ;;
And also, my gd,they did Lizzo so dirty with that Gucci dress! :O

Right! I remember when they needed to perform in the US back in their Idol era, I was abit like "oh" when they wore suits that were boring. I actually hoped they would wear those colourful and wack suits they wore in the MV. So much character in them just like the song.
But most men fashion is just boring in general but their stylist can indeed put some more effort into it since other idols sometimes have very interesting outfits.

Luke always looks at their western fashion and not what they wear in Korea or even Asian magazine shoots. They have some amazing looks
@@elyse2876 yeah a video on some of the more stylish Korean fashion magazines would be cool! like High Cut, Nylon, Singles, Grazia or Vogue Korea. sometimes the looks are a mess but sometimes they show out!

@@bluckamey their western style lately is tailored for them being taken more seriously by the US music industry, especially because it's Grammys voting period, despite the fact that their album was critically acclaimed here and based on Jungian psychology, they're still treated badly by the industry, not taken seriously and are seen by a lot of people as "feminine" etc.
@@99txgh that’s so sad though. I understand they want to win awards and definitely see the racism they face in the American industry, but they shouldn’t change what made them special to begin with. But even so, I don’t blame them for feeling pressured

As a plus size black women, that vogue cover with lizzo had me hot. They act like we are afraid of our bodies. I wear body conforming outfits all the time. Lizzo aint scared to push the boundaries and neither am I. They need to do better
I think BTS just wanted something more serious for the Variety cover, because the article is part of their Grammy campaign and is already so difficult for them to be taken seriously, so I don't think they wanted to take a lot of risks. I can see why is a bit boring fashionwise, but I don't think that was really their focus. But during their performances on Fallon in September they had great outifts, IDOL and Black Swan in particular. Also, they tend to take more risks during the Korean Awards shows, so maybe they really are trying to build a more mature image in the USA.
I agree. The have had some amazing fashion moments this month, from their concert to jimmy fallon week. I think the variety cover was just a mature and classic look.
Maybe they're just wanna keep the outfits low-key of fear of being again criticized by stupid locals....their outfits haven't been that striking in a long time now ;-;

@@sarroumarbeu6810 I quite like their outfits during dynamite performances (although that's due to my personal preferences) and, as I said before, IDOL and Black Swan on BTS week. Besides, their outfits from their recent concert were stunning in my opinion. But yeah I think they might just be sticking to a more classic look, because of the backlash they might get and because of the context of the shoot really. In fact, during their first attendance to the Grammys, I had to hear a lot of comments from people just because of their coloured hair and BTS were just wearing normal suits on that occasion (I really liked that the suits were from a korean brand though). So it doesn't take a lot for people to critize them 😓
@@theratingsa4651 As I said before, I don't think they're trying to make a fashion statement though and just wish he would cover other looks they wore during September that weren't " hideously boring" 😁 Besides, Variety isn't even a fashion focused magazine, the covers aren't very striking for any artist really in terms of fashion.

I’m sorry but Le-tee-sha is only the English pronunciation. It’s an Italian name (Laetizia - at least originally) so it‘s meant to sound like Le-tee-ts (like in Tsunami)-i (like Intelligence) - a....but hey, every country pronounces names different so I wouldn’t criticise 🤷♀️

You know what i like the most about Luke and his videos, that even he is roasting (which i love), he is doing it cause hes has relevant reasons to do it. About Taylor Swift, she is very creative in her professionnal life musically and visually in her videos, she loves colors and extravagance BUT she is also a very classic and classy woman. She already showed her love for classic icons and 50ies/60ies style, so to me the style she wears here reflects this classy style she lives for.
The Kardashian look reminds me of when I'm trying to get a feel for what fabrics are going to look like next to each other so I've just draped them on top of me and pinned them in a vague shape....not a finished look.

If you want to see BTS in more fashionable outfits and looks, you should try to see there photo shoots with Korean companies and magazines, such as Allure, Daze, Ella and Vouge Korea, as well as companies like Dispatch. For whatever reason, they always end up much more simple and suited up whenever doing American media, as opposed to South Korean media where they have more androgynous, over the top looks.
Or even in their week from September on the Tonight Show, there were some pretty interesting looks, especially from IDOL and Black Swan.
And off we go, time to lay down and watch 👍🏼

It worked great as a form of escapism but other than that the show is awful.Emily was ignorant to the French culture and instead pushed american culture on everyone.Not to mention the fact her fashion highkey was just....loud as it showed that pieces were put together just cuz most of them were branded and nothing else.She's also very whiny.All in all 3 out 10 ,would not recommend
I did finish it.. It's.. It's.. Like a very cliché story? Like she's the new girl and everyone wants to f her, and she fs everyone. Like a very basic manga plot, IFYKWIM. You can finish it within the day, while having coffee, doing some work, and you wouldn't miss anydetail. I kinda played some of it in the background lot just to kinda "finish" it.

I cliked so fast to this video when I saw you were wearing Marimekko! I'm intrigued how you came upon this brand and that jacket! I haven't ever even seen that style of jacket anywhere on the streets of Helsinki (or the stores) even though Marimekko is highly fashionable brand over here. And usually when a foreigner has anything Marimekko, it's usually in in the Unikko print. So I guess this proves you're not a basic even considering smaller brands

I saw the thumbnail and couldn’t believe I was seeing Marimekko. Awesome. They’ve really stepped up and modernised themselves in the last few years. And they’ve done it using a lot of their classic prints that have been around for a long time and still manage to make it look really fresh! The Kivet-print on the jacket you’re wearing was first made in 1956.
