All these and more…you could have easily gone to 50!.. so many new varieties come to market as a result of tissue culture - resulting in thin leaf structure, require high humidity and almost perfect light conditions - appreciated your list and honesty. Thank you,
Maintaining Inch Plant -> Hang it up, wrap the evergrowing vines back up and around -> a year later you ahve a purple sparkly foliage disco ball! and the fact that they lose leaves at the base wont be noticable
Here is a testimonial for the croton. I have had one for about three years that has only gotten better and bigger. It is at my mom's house without great light and high humidity, her non-green thumb somehow keeps it thriving! Your videos are the best!
I have killed So. Many. Alocasias. And yet the leaves get me every time! I've even set up a humidity dome to raise the little buds that come up through the dirt. My next trial is to raise them in a terrarium, but with good drainage.
.. My Alocasia Cucullata is growing in Leca and the cover pot is an old bucket from worm casting.. From May 1st. to October just before the first frost, she is living outside in the shade from a big butterfly bush and have nothing but the rain.. This winter is the first winter in 5 years, that she haven't dropped all the leaves.. Only the old ones that was ruined from the heavy storms and heavy rains most of all summer 2023.. If you can, you should give it a try..
Actually I do have one that survived, a dragon scale alocasia. Almost forgot about that one, she's in the corner next to the window and has three leaves now, the third one being new growth.
Although alocasia continue to break my heart, I will never not own one😂My silver dragon was the first houseplant I bought for myself when I moved into my first apartment and I somehow managed to keep it alive despite not knowing a thing about the genus. Ficus Benjimina is not my favorite plant, but my parents have had this small tree that's probably 40 years old now and it always looks great. The cuttings I got from them are also doing great in leca☺ One plant I would add is the "Xanthasoma Mickey Mouse" which is arguably worse than alocasia in terms of leaf drop and, well, everything.
I have an Epipremnum shangri la and I absolutely love it. It's the most beautiful leaf shape I've ever seen. It looks like something out of a fantasy movie lol
I was laughing the entire time. You went in for the kill and I’m sorry to the people who bought thousand dollar obliquas 😮💨 also, Chinese evergreens really are amazing
Here's a great tip for the inch plants(tradescantia)!! Any time they're moved(outdoor to indoor or indoor to outdoor) they like to get leggy. As crawlers they'll end up sprawling and uglying up their pots. I cut mine almost all the way back whenever it starts to go leggy on me and it fills back out within a couple months. The best indoor setup I've seen with them was one of those hanging bags. The vines rooted as they crawled down it leaving a full look. I use it for ground cover in my flowerbeds. It grows great on the ground
LMAO not “every dieffenbachia”!! 😭😭 he said trash the whole family!! Like even the beautiful Tropic Snow?? The Dieff San Juan?? The Cheetah?? LOL I can’t get enough of your plant shade though!!! 😂😂
Me too. He could have added the Chinese evergreen he continued to hype to the plant I hate and it gets to much unwarranted shelf space in all the stores. @@tierneylogan5943
@tierneylogan5943 Omg no Aglaonema are so beautiful too. Dieffenbachia and Aglaonema are my favorite plant species! Chocolate Aglaonema, the BJ Freeman, the Stripes and the Calypso are beautiful!
Heyyy I love my Benjaminas! People just treat them like regular house plants but they crave humidity. Most homes are too dry. They are also nutrient thirsty. They need to be fertilized. Maybe a little more needy than most house plants 😅
Good to know, I've got one that I'm really trying not to kill. Last one I had was a really pretty variegated one, but it dropped all its leaves & died and I still can't figure out why.
@@rebeccaduksa1126 I'm an absolute house plant newbie but everything that I have learned about Ficus benjamina has been from the bonsai community on UA-cam! I bet that variegated one was so pretty! ☺
This was great fun to watch. I like your reasons! Ficus Benjamina is an all time favourite of mine, despite its silly dramas. I think we all have plants we cannot be doing with.
Haha i agree with all of these except diffenbachia! I was about to chuck one that someone gave me when suddenly it started to look amazing and i fell in love with it . Kinda embarrassing but idk, when they get bushy they can look lovely. Is prone to spider mites though.
@@nurrr2041 lol! Usually they are dusty and neglected… but anyhow I’m glad we both discovered this beauty one way or another. Mine is still thriving and is even blooming! Honestly one of my favorite plants now.
Brilliant I totally agree with your opinions. So many people buy many of these plants in stores often by the checkout without a thought as to they requirements or suitability. They are usually just the ones the stores can get a good deal with. To be honest if anything is trending then it usually turns me off. I love Aglaonema as they are so forgiving when it comes to positioning away from windows. I just had an Aglaonema "crete" delivered today and I can't stop looking at it , such a beautiful colouration and pinky stems. Also 2 of my airplants decided to reveal their blooms today . I am in plant heaven 😊. Out of interest what is your thought on watering all plants with rain water?
I love the red Aglaonemas!! Rain water is great - it's too difficult for me to bother collecting with my living situation, but it's a better option than tap, that's for sure!
As a long time viewer of your channel (pre-2020) im so happy to see how well youre doing! Your recent videos have so much joy and life in them and I wish all the best for you 😊
Absolutely love this and appreciate your candor. I have similar feelings towards all these plants. And yes Chinese evergreen plants are my favorite plants and I rather have those over many
Watching this the day after repotting some prickly pears... I still have spines in my hands. Inch plants: grow on flat services so they can root to soil, they grow much better. I moved most of mine outside into long planters. Some of these plants are much better in vivariums. But most plants are better then appropriate vivariums.
Agree with most and with recommending aglaonemas. I would add to it all tradescantias (there is something about the look of their stems that I don't like), begonias (you do you, they are just not for me), and I hard-pass on all ferns. I got a Birken for $7 at a grocery store last year and it is growing well with little attention and hasn't reverted yet. Calling that a win.
I impulse bought an amplissimum since it was a ~trending tropical~ and have pretty much hated it since day one, I think this video finally gives me the motivation to get rid of it. All the charm of a sickly pothos but with bonus brown tips.
Very fun! Totally agree on most but do have a massive tree Benjamina. I got a neglected office specimen for £20 and it has flourished. It’s nearly 8feet tall, bushy and beautiful But you made me laugh so much especially about the woven plant
I have a Benjamina as well for 15+ years. Drop leaves when I bring from outside after summer. Also a fiddle leave for 4 years need to sell as it’s reached my ceiling 😊
I pretty much agree, except for the Alocasia. I have many of them, and as long as I grow them in pon and selfwatering pots, they have never given me any problems. I agree with you when you recommend Aglonemas, they're just..great! Fun video 😊💚
I’m with you on the bunny ears! I still have one that looks like garbage only because throwing out plants is hard but will not be getting more. I’m over pointy, pokey, or painful plants! Thanks for the heads up on what not to buy 😁
Ficus! I have had one for 40 years. And have propagated it multiple times. They are not easy to keep lovely but once you get the hang, they are easy to maintain.
I have never ever had any issues with my benjaminas, not even bringing them home from the store. I've made several new plants from cuttings easily and given them away and my friends love them - my ficus triangularis however, talk about a drama queen. I breathe the wrong way and it drops leaves. Definitely thought it was going to die after I brought it home and it dropped most of its leaves, stems started to go black, but I hard-trimmed it back and put it in a sunny spot. It's pushing out slow new growth now, here's hoping it makes it to spring.
I agree with most of the list. Although I have found that I like ficus. I bought my FLF on clearance at $7 and it lives, and I’m somehow able to keep a Benjamina alive as well as some other varieties. I would add Calathea peacock varieties and aluminum plant to the list. Oh and I have a Corn plant that I received as an apartment gift 20 years ago.
Agree on every single one... except Alocasias. I was scared when I started having Alocasias but they have thrived at my place. I find they do much better in leca and semihydro than in soil!
@@tierneylogan5943 I've had no luck with Calatheas, except for the Makoyana. It even survived spider mites and lived for several years. It's long gone now though :')
I have the philodendron 'birkin.' It's one of my favorites. I guess I have it in the right spot. Doesn't need much care except I have to turn it a lot as it does like to point towards the window. I had no idea what it was 'til this video. I like my variegated benjamina too. Does well for me and I can kinda forget about it and it still does okay. I've never owned a Chinese evergreen. Always thought they were boring office lobby type plants, but maybe I'll have to take a closer look at them.
I was one of those that jump into the wagon back in the day and got my self a Birkin. Thankfully I only paid 15 for it. However it’s been doing so good that now I have 5 more because it grows so fast and extremely easy to care for. This spring I’ll try to find them new homes.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. About the only plant(s) that I dislike are cacti. Probably because I grew up on a ranch and spent a lot of time digging them out of my feet/hands growing up. LOL I love my Calathea Fusion White, and 'Ornata' sold under the name of 'Beauty Star'. I've had the former since October 2023, and the later since May 2023, both of them are doing great, and not a single issue of any kind with pests - knock on wood. Of course, I do have a secret weapon! I live on a farm, in a 100 year old farm house that I can't keep the spiders out of. I noticed early on when I got back into house plants that at least one plant in every grouping had a spider that had taken up residence in it. Natural pest control! Being a farm girl, I don't have a problem with spiders, snakes, or other creatures so it works out well! :)
I feel much better knowing you confirmed my feeling about the Boston fern and majesty palm. I tried really hard to keep these but I’ve got enough grey hair and end up introducing these two plants to the garbage can. Love your vids and you are such a nice young man. ❤ from a grandma in Calgary, Alberta Canada.
Love the roast, even though lots of my favorites made your list. I appreciate all your content, but the format where you let it all hang out always gets me clicking the fastest!
Haha, I agreed with the vast majority of those (except the amplissimum and white fusion, cover your little plant ears, my babies!!) but you made me laugh and that's a gift I'll accept any time 🌿🌱🌻😆😊🌱Omg yes, the plaited things - that just looks PAINFUL!! Not what I want when I look at my plants...lol...
I saw the title of the video and thought, well, I’m not going to hate any of these plants-I love plants! Then one by one as you went through your list, I had to agree with basically the entire list, possibly minus the croton and the inch plant, which for me are not houseplants and I have them outside in my garden, in the ground, mostly as accent plants to add a bit of color where needed. Probably they don’t get as many pests outside and I’ve never had a problem, but I wont be digging them up to bring them inside anytime soon!
I totally agree to 99%. My exception is Alocasia. I have a huge Polly that just grows perfect. I also have silver dragon and black velvet they grow like everyone’s else’s. 3 good leafs at a time 😅. Mine don’t go dormant and I never had a spider mite problem. But I know if they croak they won’t be replaced.
I love my variegated Benjamina it's doing well for me. I agree with everything you said except I'm trying some Alocasia and they are doing well so far. I live in Florida and to me palms should be for outside. I can't stand them inside they don't do well. I absolutely hate Catathea but like the prayer plant. I don't like Aglaonema anymore they grew well for awhile then they get leggy and droopy maybe I'm doing something wrong. 😂
😂 love this!! So much truth here! I would love to see a few follow up videos where you suggest alternative plants and cultivars as swaps for ones that made this No list.
I mostly agree with you on Benjamin unless it's in a tree form. I bought one at an estate sale 2 years ago and has actually been one of my best plants and has survived multiple moves but it must be like 20 years old which gives it its hardiness. But I would never start over with it as I don't think it looks good in a smaller form... once this one goes I won't be replacing most likely.
Awww, my calathea white fusion is one of my easiest plants and has never had spider mites. Same with my alocasias! They're all in pon (at 35% humidity), and i totally nuke every plant that enters my home with pesticides weekly for a month before introducing it to the rest of my collection, so i think that's the secret 😂
I giggled in glee over most of these. I DO have a nice White Fusion that lives by its own humidifier, but I've also told it that it is only 25 steps to my compost bin if it falters in any way. Some of the plants you mentioned I haven't grown for many many years just because of the reasons you have given; the croton, dieffenbachia, ficus, palms, etc etc. Great video!
The bunny ears cactus was the first plant that I hated as a kid. I was getting prickles on the regularly, I can't remember why I was still touching them 😂 I don't have any of these 25 plants in my collection currently 🎉
The benjamin ficus is PERFECT for a home where you can place it in a perfect corner where it never gets hit by a draft, nor bumped by humans or pets, nor moved even an inch, and will enjoy a comfortable and even lighting and humidity throughout the year and yet is so very in your eyeline and way enough to enjoy a very regular watering. In those conditions it can be really quite pretty. Mind you, if you start a new hobby that makes a sound and/or requires movement, or change out your speakers or try out new music, it may decide to drop it's leaves anyways.
I bought a braided sansevieria. The lady in the shop said oh I love these they look so nice braided. My response was. I'm undoing the second I get home. Its doing very well now My mum bought me an alocasia which is very cute but has spider mites all the time. If I'd bought it I would have binned it hehe I am not a fan of most begonia and variegated plants. They look ill or like half cleaned bird poop. And painted plants unset me Your list it pretty much bang on.
In my experience inch plants can actually be incredibly beautiful. I have a purple heart that grows straight up because i keep it in a low light situation. The stems have turned green with bright pink and purple leaves. The trick is to cut stems that you dont love every few months.
I had a birkin for several years and never had a revert issue with it. Its growth pattern became too unruly so I chopped it up and trashed it. I agree with hating the bunny ears cacti. They need to have big "DO NOT TOUCH" signs attach to them when they are being sold in stores. I think those tall, three stalks corn plants are big in Asian households. I don't mind braided tube snake plant. I personally wouldn't buy them but I do think it looks more interesting than the non-braided one.
I used to work years ago at a big box greenhouse and i absolutely hated poinsettias!! Could not understand why people would buy them. Also i was so sick of sweeping up after the ficus that lost every leaf the minute we unpacked them!!! I agree with all of your 25 plants!
I’ve some of your hate list plants. Multiple varieties of alocasia and calathea (fusion and ornata). I started growing indoors but the pest problem was out of control. They are now on my covered patio and I use beneficial bugs to keep the spider mites under control. I live in a subtropical environment in Australia 🇦🇺. I always have a love / hate relationship with most of my plants 🏝️
I guess the only one I’m on the fence on from your choices is the ficus benjamina. I’ve had mine for almost 20 years and he’s been a drama queen for almost all of those. But the other day as I was repotting him and looking at his big tree roots, wonky branches and fuzzy green head (he likes to grow out on top), I realized he’s one of my favorite plants. He’s been with me through several moves and grown to be around 1,65 m ish tall.
Great video! Love your honesty and have to admit I agree with you on almost everything you said! There are some plants that I love to look at, like the Calathea White Fusion, but I know better!
What a great video, LMAO! Please do more because this video not only gave us tons of good information, it is honest and I love the honesty, plus it is hilarious, with a wonderful delivery . Thank you. BTW, I subscribed with in 60 seconds of view this video, a first for me. Loved it.
I liked my birkin but then it put out only white leaves and wrecked months of growth. Still really pretty when the leaves get a good mixture of variegation
Loooove this video 😂 The fact that I’ve had at least 10 the plants on this list that I’ve said RIP to is hilarious! AND you ended with the plant I’m CURRENTLY giving a eulogy for is even funnier! Never again amplissimum!!!
I've managed to grow my croton petra now for 1,5 years and I love it. When I first got it, it had spider mites but I sprayed it many times and since that I haven't had any pests. I keep it at my balcony during summer and it loves the its summer vacation. I don't have sunlight during winter but I have some grow lights. I keep a humidifier nearby but even with that I struggle to keep my humidity at 50%. The thing why I love my croton, is that it looks like a person and it's substantial. When I first moved on my own I bought a croton but gave it to my mom to be looked after when I went to work in a different city. My mom actually threw it out because she thought it had a plant disease because of it's colourful leaves!😖🙈 I was so pissed. I never got over that I lost the croton, so that's why I bought another couple of years ago.
I kind of love this. As a fairly new plant parent, I went through a phase of "give me all.the.plants pls" - but it's refreshing to hear you roast all these plants because... it's just a fact that we don't have to love ALL plants.
I have three, maybe four, of those plants. I definitely agree on the Croton - I've never got one to grow reliably without crisping up. Although I have one currently which is on its way to the garbage can in the next month or two I think. I have a calathea ornata which I've brought back from the dead twice. We'll see how it works this time. I have one Alocasia That I just picked up last week. I have a philodendron birkin which I really like and seems very easy to grow. So far. I have a Florida Ghost Mint that I just picked up from purge. I think I agree with your take on that one. The color just looks like the plant is tired. Lastly, I have 10 poinsettias - all different varieties - that I bought on clearance. They're all in very good shape still and my plan is to experiment and try to overwinter them and bring them back next year. Just as an experiment to see if I can make it work.
I found a syngonium podophyllum in my backyard years ago. I cut a nodule and had it growing in a cup of water for a while. It was cute, but I did prove your point by finding it *in my backyard*
I agreed with everything except for the Alocasia. I have 13 different Alocasia and love pulling corms and growing more. My Alocasias rarely give me issues. A couple have, but I handle shit quickly. They are extremely beautiful and thrive in pon! So much fun!! Take care!!
Just beware of Chinese evergreen though! I collected 40 pots of cool hybrids that came from my country Indonesia. The old non-hybrid one is so much tougher if you neglected it. But the hybrid though, if you don't know how to water and give them a proper light. They will be rooted and can't be saved at all. Well, you could if there is a healthy section that has an eye. I've lost over $3000 just to buy the beautiful hybrid that lasts for 2-3 weeks. I blamed TC from thailand and our breeder that makes the hybrids. They always send a mother plant to Thailand and wait for them to TC. After the TC comes out, they sell it for a higher price but don't know how well the plants would survive outside the TC jar.
This is very interesting to read for sure. I am also cautious about buying Costa Farms aglaonema's too for they have those plastic cages around the roots in the pots. What are your thoughts on these cages and why do they need to do this method??
Haha that was fun to watch. I have to say I disagree on croton and poinsettia. My croton sits by a sunny window, it has beautiful colored leaves, easy care, I’ve enjoyed it for years (it’s been split and re-potted several times). On poinsettia: maybe it’s cliché but when I see them for sale in December I can’t resist getting one. To me, they say holiday cheer. However, after the red leaves fall off in the spring they look pretty boing (I’ve transplanted mine to red pots to try to compensate for loss of red leaves…) and I have yet to see one grow a second set of red leaves but I will keep trying.🤣
Hi Nick! I have to say that I love Birkins. I've had trouble with them, but i keep trying. In fact I just bought another one. It is in a self-watering pot, so I hope that helps! I do agree that Aglaonema are a better choice for some plants. I've had trouble with them, too, but trying to get their watering down. I just bought one, and it is in a self-watering pot, too. Fingers crossed for it and the Birkin. ;-) This is a fun video, and I agree with all of the other plants you picked. Thank you so much for sharing!
I agree with everything plant on your list with the exception of the two Alocasias that I grow. The Stingray and the Silver Dragon. Two that would be on my list in addition to the ones on your list are (the ugly) Pilea Peperomioides and the P. Orange Princess. I most definitely agree with the Definbachia anything. They are not worth the risk to my cats.
I love the solid green Florida variety, I have one with reddish stems, happy enough to bloom in the fall, it grows fast, and it’s easy. I just started calling it Florida man. I’m also in an abusive relationship with alocasia/ colocasia. I loved them when I was a kid living in south Texas. I live in Michigan now though...
Definitely a fun watch! My partner recently brought home an alocasia from the grocery store that I am side-eyeing so hard. I’ve had weirdly good luck with my adopted from a coworker croton though. It can be a bit dramatic and that tells me when to water.
Agree with all. I have killed a few, even giving them the perfect conditions. I have a croton but it lives outside in greenhouse. Only plant I think you left off is Pilea Peperomioides.
Fittonia, bromelia, orchids and begonia can also go on this list for me. I can't keep them alive long enough to really enjoy them or never get them to flower again. Do love Alocasia because once I put them in pon, they thrive in my care and I'm slowly switching out the ones (mostly Philodendron) than need a mosspole. Philodendron used to be my favourite genus, but after a few years of plantcare, I just can't with the fast growing mosspole climbers. Too much work. So now I mostly want Anthurium without a pole and Alocasia. Also love hanging plants. And I love my Philodendron el choco red and jose buono because of the smaller spacing, so they don't climb as fast. My Splendid is just outgrowing the mosspole like every 2 months, which is just too much, even though that one has the prettiest leafs😅
More plant roasting please! I always thought my ghost philo was a ghost but it's just plain dark green so I learned something new there. And poinsettias are terrible, but the pot that one was in I want.
Every time there’s an alocasia that catches my eye at the nursery I have to talk myself out of it for all the reasons you mentioned. 100% agree
I plant taro corms from the supermarket, grow them until they get spider mites then throw them straight in the garbage. Rinse & repeat.
I agree about the Alocasia, but I still love it. I totally disagree about the Birken. Mine grows like crazy, has never had pests of any kind, and has not reverted after two years.
I love this journey for you 😂
Actually I do have one that survived, a dragon scale alocasia.
The cuttings I got from them are also doing great in leca☺
One plant I would add is the "Xanthasoma Mickey Mouse" which is arguably worse than alocasia in terms of leaf drop and, well, everything.
Plus that Mickey Mouse plant is so ugly lol 😂 if there's a part 2 to this video you can count on that one being on it 😅
As a fellow plant shop worker I agree with all of these.
Glad we can agree 😂💚
I have an Epipremnum shangri la and I absolutely love it. It's the most beautiful leaf shape I've ever seen. It looks like something out of a fantasy movie lol
Agree, love this plant
I'm glad you like it 😂💚
I was laughing the entire time. You went in for the kill and I’m sorry to the people who bought thousand dollar obliquas 😮💨 also, Chinese evergreens really are amazing
🤭🤭 I'm constantly sending my condolences lmao
I agree, and I’d take a diffenbachia over Chinese evergreen (yuk) any day!!
It is a genus not a family
Ok “genus” then…glad you knew exactly what I meant despite my error 😏
Mine took 12 months to loose all its leaves 😢
You are a natural born green goddess! You go girl!
MAYBE lol 😂💚
Loved this and was fun to watch. I love Calethias but they always die. Prayer plants do great until they don’t.
Thanks! ☺️
This was great fun to watch. I like your reasons! Ficus Benjamina is an all time favourite of mine, despite its silly dramas. I think we all have plants we cannot be doing with.
Silly dramas is a good way to put it 😂💚
Haha i agree with all of these except diffenbachia! I was about to chuck one that someone gave me when suddenly it started to look amazing and i fell in love with it . Kinda embarrassing but idk, when they get bushy they can look lovely. Is prone to spider mites though.
Why the embarresment?
@@nurrr2041 i dunno i just always thought of them as basic, like plants you see at the dentist office.
@@tierneylogan5943 this is actually hilarious, bc my dentist has a gorgeous one and I bought one after that lol
I agree with ALL except Philodendron Florida Ghost, they're exquisite 💚🤍
As a long time viewer of your channel (pre-2020) im so happy to see how well youre doing! Your recent videos have so much joy and life in them and I wish all the best for you 😊
Thank you!! 🥹💚
Absolutely love this and appreciate your candor. I have similar feelings towards all these plants. And yes Chinese evergreen plants are my favorite plants and I rather have those over many
Chinese Evergreens are soo amazing!
😂😂 you roasted this plant better than me!
The best "future garbage". 😂
😅😂
Very fun! Totally agree on most but do have a massive tree Benjamina. I got a neglected office specimen for £20 and it has flourished. It’s nearly 8feet tall, bushy and beautiful
But you made me laugh so much especially about the woven plant
I have a Benjamina as well for 15+ years. Drop leaves when I bring from outside after summer. Also a fiddle leave for 4 years need to sell as it’s reached my ceiling 😊
Oh wow, 8 feet is pretty wild for indoors!! 🪴
@@jazzyg4578 I chop the top off my fiddle every year.
@@jackiewhitney5031 that’s what I have been doing but it grows back really fast
I pretty much agree, except for the Alocasia. I have many of them, and as long as I grow them in pon and selfwatering pots, they have never given me any problems. I agree with you when you recommend Aglonemas, they're just..great! Fun video 😊💚
I’m with you on the bunny ears! I still have one that looks like garbage only because throwing out plants is hard but will not be getting more. I’m over pointy, pokey, or painful plants!
Thanks for the heads up on what not to buy 😁
Bunny Ears are BANISHED from my home 😂
I agree about Chinese evergreen. I have two and they are beautiful and hardy. I despise tradescantia.
I think we could add most Calathea varieties to the list 😂💚
Agree on every single one... except Alocasias. I was scared when I started having Alocasias but they have thrived at my place. I find they do much better in leca and semihydro than in soil!
I grow mine in soil but top dress with an inch of leca and they love it, calatheas too
@@tierneylogan5943 I've had no luck with Calatheas, except for the Makoyana.
I do well with the birkin! You have to find the right spot.
Love my Birkin. It is also my husband’s favorite plant and he has told me I can’t get rid of it!
😂 I'm glad to enjoy it!! 💚
I'm glad we agreed on most 😂💚
@@NickPileggiPlants Most is pretty good 🤣🌱
The picture you painted of the frat boy corn plant lmao 😂😂😂 love this video
🤭🤭 thanks! 💚
Ficus benjamina? I’ve had mine since late 80’s. I’ve been cutting it and it has moved houses so many times and still here!
I love that! 🪴
Needed this session today Nick.
💚
Wow I agree with all 25 !! I could even add 25 more to the list😅 I'm so picky with my plants, even though I have around 70
It's best to be picky with them 😉
So funny how plants hate us differently! My crotons are happy, but every chinese evergreen I buy immediately dies. I love how they look too!
I was getting prickles on the regularly, I can't remember why I was still touching them 😂
I don't have any of these 25 plants in my collection currently 🎉
I'm sure I got bit once or twice by them as a child as well 😂 Terrible plants!!!
Its doing very well now
My mum bought me an alocasia which is very cute but has spider mites all the time. If I'd bought it I would have binned it hehe
I am not a fan of most begonia and variegated plants. They look ill or like half cleaned bird poop. And painted plants unset me
Your list it pretty much bang on.
Loved this video! You're hilarious and honest, don't change!!!
🥹 thanks! 💚
I overwhelmingly agree with you on these choices. Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.
I'm glad too 😂💚
Such sass! I love it! And yes - 100% to all of these. We another 25 - this was fun. 😂
I'm sure I could do 25 more 😂
These are my favorite types of videos, I love being needlessly hateful to plants 🤣❤️
😂 I will happily do more haha 💚
Wow, I really didn’t realize I hate so many plants but I have to agree with basically every one. But my most hated plant is the spider plant.
Aw I love the spider plants, but... I totally understand you 😂
I love my fatsia japonicma and alocasia silver scale and diffenbachia tropic snow variety. They grow into large trees!
I love 2 of your choices! 😂 I'm like WHAT how can anyone dislike a Birkin Philodendron?! This was my kind of sport haha
Love your videos Nick! 🪴
Yep!!!! That cactus was my husband's pick... and now it picks me every time I look at it!
I used to work years ago at a big box greenhouse and i absolutely hated poinsettias!! Could not understand why people would buy them. Also i was so sick of sweeping up after the ficus that lost every leaf the minute we unpacked them!!! I agree with all of your 25 plants!
They're literally the worst 😂😭
THANK GOD TASTE (or lack of) is a personal thing!!!
Morning Nick.... this was lots of fun.
I'm glad it ended on the right note! 😂😂
I never got over that I lost the croton, so that's why I bought another couple of years ago.
those summers on the balcony are probably the secret! They are gorgeous houseplants 🪴
You ATE with this rapid fire lolllll and you spoke nothing but fact. I was agreeing the whole time haha so entertaining
😂😂 I'm here to feed the children🍴
I kind of love this. As a fairly new plant parent, I went through a phase of "give me all.the.plants pls" - but it's refreshing to hear you roast all these plants because... it's just a fact that we don't have to love ALL plants.
I love a little snark. Keep it coming🙏
😏🤭
Love this but also the affirmation I needed about getting a Chinese Evergreen!
I'm here for the Aglaonema affirmations! 🤭
😂😂 backyard is better than the grocery store!
Aw, I love my Birkin! I didn't spend a lot on her, though.
Nick’s plant roasts are my favorite videos 🫖
No lies were told! Bravo!
Agree with all. I have killed a few, even giving them the perfect conditions. I have a croton but it lives outside in greenhouse. Only plant I think you left off is Pilea Peperomioides.
Oh, agreed! I hate pileas in general😂
Me too!! One of the first plants that found its way to the trash@@imaginarydreamer
Omg I agree. I wish I watched this before I started my plant collection 😅
🤭🤭
A lot of people do well growing these plants...think positive. Just because Nick didn't fare well you may succeed :))
For the most part I agree 100%!! You had me laughing through out most of this. Freaking love you for this!!!
Thank you!! 🥹💚
More plant roasting please! I always thought my ghost philo was a ghost but it's just plain dark green so I learned something new there. And poinsettias are terrible, but the pot that one was in I want.
