Hi there. Thank you for the great feedback. Yeah I did videos covering most of the bits and pieces on the Arrma 3s and 4s trucks. Glad it was helpful 😁👍👍
Ah yeah I was trying to remember who asked me about those pivot balls and now I remember it was you! I'm glad I found out about that easier way to get to that arm. Many thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated :-)
Lots more great metal bits and tips Pete. Bummer about the shock piston rod but at least they are sending you a new one. Keep safe and all the best mate.
Hiya Rob. Yeah like I was saying in the video I'm not sure if it was my fault. The pivot at the bottom of the shock rod could have done with being wider. Anyway, hopefully the new one will last longer. Many thanks for watching mate. You stay safe too :-)
Another good video. I have a senton that I just did some major work on and got that pivot ball set and they were like half were to tight of a fit to work. So I had to file a lot of them
Hi Pete, nicely demonstrated and those should sturdy things. I've finally succumb to the Arrma brand, both my son and I have ordered a Arrma Typhon each to go buggy bashing (when we're allowed out of course). Thought it nice that we could have some father and son quality RC time. I will certainly be reviewing your tips and tricks again to refresh my memory😁👍😉
Hiya John. That will be great to get the Arrma's to bash the hell out of. Presumably the version 3 which has many desirable upgrades. Threadlock the hub screws and the motor screws as shown on previous videos and you should be fine. I'm assuming you are going to run 3s lipos? You'll enjoy it I'm sure. Hope your son likes it too. You'll need an alternative body shell so that you can tell them apart. Anyway many thanks for your comments and support my friend. Best wishes to you 😁
@@PeteWylieRC Hi Pete, yes definitely looking forward to receiving them, they are the v3, going to be the Mega's though as I'm still not confident with LiPo's. That along with still learning to control with a wheel radio setup, so thought best to stick with NiMh. Also want to teach my son how to upgrade once we've confident in going faster. I'm sure we'll end up going LiPo and brushless, but little steps first for me. Your great videos are certainly going to come in handy 😉😁👍
@@JF-RC Ah yeah I believe that the Mega versions are pretty much the same in terms of the gears etc. so you can upgrade later. All we need is to be allowed out and some nice weather :-)
Great wrenching video, Pete - I must say you are getting really good at these! Love the alternative hammer - I'm always doing things like that! Lots of lovely hints and tips, all explained so clearly, even I knew what was going on and I haven't got an Arrma! I reckon you're right about the tight pivot on the shock giving the shaft a hard time (tight and shaft in the same sentence, oh dear, Matron!). All the best Pete - take care, matey! :O)
Tee hee you actually said tight, hard and shaft in the same sentence 😂 Anyway this is a slightly random set of tips and difficult to put together as I videoed them all at different times not really knowing that they'd be in the same video. It sort of makes sense. The videos never show the actual dropping of all the little bits and the swearing and the looking on the floor and more swearing 😂 Basically at the moment we just have to use the footage we have and mainly it's going to be indoors. I've got a bit of unused running footage of this from the Christmas break but it only makes a very short video. Other than that I've got a few indoor ones I can make. I'm still not sure if we are allowed to do recreational activities in a public place or just exercise. Too bloody cold apart from anything else! Hope work isn't too awful. Mine's ok but I'd rather not be there tbh. I'm just enjoying a pre tea pint of this amazing IPA. One day you'll get to try it mate. Cheers for now 😀🍺🍺🍺🍺
Many thanks. I never intended to do so many maintenance videos of this but the first one was so popular that I thought I ought to. Many thanks for your great feedback 😁
@@PeteWylieRC hey Pete !! O man you were right!! The granite is a beast!! Fast out of the box and a wheelie king!! I’m glad to add it to my Rc arsenal! I did run into a few minor issues nothing major kinda need your advice, so when you get a chance stop by and check out my maiden run please appreciate it!
Hey Pete where did you get your front bumper and back bumper for the big rock and is that a clear body that you painted that color cuz that looks awesome
Hi there. I have just left the Senton bumpers and body mounts. The body was a clear one painted Tamiya metallic orange backed with silver. You just need to make new holes if you are using the Senton body posts. It has Granite wheels because I couldn't find any Big Rock wheels in stock. I've made it like this for the muddy winter season. Will probably go back to it being a Senton in the summer. Many thanks for your comments 😀
Did you order the bigrock body posts? And still had to drill a hole in the middle of the two to fit right or did you use the stock senton body posts? Thanks in advance
Hi there. For the Big Rock body on the Senton chassis I used the existing Senton body posts and drilled new holes to suit. Obviously you could get the Big Rock body posts and then the standard holes would work. Thanks for watching 😁
I wanna thank you for this because i have to do this to my Typhon. So you put super glue instead of thread lock on the screw that goes into the servo saver?
Hi there. Actually you can use threadlock as in this case it's a metal screw going into a metal servo spline. Just be very careful not to get threadlock on the plastic servo saver as you do it. Threadlock very bad for plastic as I've found to my cost. Super glue will also do the job and is not harmful to plastic. Remember to tighten it down then loosen it a little and make sure the servo saver still works without sticking. Many thanks for your great feedback :-)
You need to make new holes in the Big Rock body if you are using the Senton body posts. Like I say in the video I did adjust the height of the posts slightly to make the Big Rock body fit a bit better. Many thanks for watching 😀
Hi. That is a Big Rock body on the Senton. The Granite is too short. With the Big Rock body you need new body holes if you want to use the existing Senton body posts. I go through all this on one of the videos. Thanks for watching 😀
Well somebody was telling me about RPM rod ends which could use a Traxxas metal pivot ball. I will try to find out more. Maybe ask the question on the Arrma UK Facebook group as it was somebody on there that was saying it.
Hi. Yeah you do need to file the plastic a bit. Not sure why they made them such a tight fit. More difficult than it needed to be be they are good once installed.
pete, you make great videos... but why dont you just purchase a new expensive car that you like , rather than changing the cars you already have ???...
Hi there and thanks. I don't think that there is a perfect basher out of the box but these Arrma 3s cars are the closest I've found. People report problems with Traxxas cars that are much more expensive and also the bigger Arrma cars. I think that these ones with a little work are just ideal for what I do which is basically just messing about. I do enjoy the maintenance and repair on RC cars. I'd really like it if these came as a kit. Anyway, many thanks for your comments 😁
This is a well handy video. Thanks for doing this. New to this and not started yet, so consuming as much as I can to avoid the rookie errors!

Hi there. Yeah those pivot balls are super snug like you say. Hopefully they will last a good while now they are in. Thanks for watching 😀
Ya they stop all that unnecessary play though. So it should be worth it.

I like the body n color metallic orange , can I ask were u got the body clear plz... Looks awesome
