  • We didn't make it a week with the 2019 Indian Chieftain Dark Horse in the family before I dropped it. I blame it on the soft grass, but that's why it has engine guards! These hands aren't what they used be.

Dropped mine in the driveway during the first week. Tried to get off without putting the stand down first. Man, when 800 lbs starts moving, it's tough to stop it! Glad you did it in nice, soft grass.

This is one of the first videos of an actual owner that I've seen and I've been looking everywhere! The new 2019s do kinda have that hog look but when you get next to one you change your mind very quickly! Thanks for not only representing for Indian owners of the new line up, but also representing for Black riders who can't seem to get behind Indian just yet. Ride hard, Ride free!

I have yet to drop any of my street bikes. I came close in a sand parking lot but adrenaline helped me save the bike from going all the way over. However I was selling a Victory CrossCountry and two guys showed up to look at it. One wanted the bike, the other was the "expert" friend who owned several bikes. After he proceeds to try and talk his friend out of my bike, the expert friend drops my bike while trying to test it out for his friend. Needless to say, they left my house with the newly damaged bike.

@@jpl8085 I take back what I said. When I was in the military, back in 1996, I had a Honda CBR600, and took a turn and hit dirt left by a tank that had crossed the road, and slid off the road. Riding a pigfat bagger on the lawn can get interesting. The trick I use for my bike areas is layering crushed asphalt then letting the grass grow through it. You can't see the asphalt but your lawn will now act as a driveway if needed, and because it's not pavement it drains fine. You can spread it with a rake.

lol..that soft ground is hard to navigate esp at slow speeds, My bike weights the same and I have to ride mine from behind the house in and down grass and hill, and back down hill with momentum to able my run-up the ramp to back into a garage, tuff stuff looks like I'm much shorter than Brandon with wide, 29 inch seat height. Good thing the crash bars were there, and Uncle was showing class and understanding by not getting upset. I look at several and sat on a 2018 Chieftain CLassic this weekend, It fit me well... didn't ride it, and so I'm not sure if I would be impressed comparing to my very low mileage 2014 Stratoliner 1900S

dude who ever in reading this. Do NOT take your bottom off the seat till motorcycle comes to complete stop and motorcycle is completely straight.
@ 0:32 This guy planted his feet on the ground and started getting up before motorcycle was at complete stop and completely straight.
I dropped my motorcycle once in same manner. I saw many people on you tube dropping it just like I did.
Think about it. when you are stilling tight on the bike you are part of motorcycle . and your legs and feet resist motorcycle side way fall. But when you take your back off the seat too early motorcycle still want to wiggle sideways a little but now you have only your hands to stop/balance the bike to complete stop.
