    A small tip that i do often: when you Layout your build with woll or concrete, then go inside and start building some interior, then go and add the exterior, sometimes it gives you some extra shapes that you wouldnt have thought of in the first place

    • @AdieCraft
      @AdieCraft  2 роки тому +37

      Yes, that can help, but depends if you know what the interior is going to be. I prefer fitting interiors at the end, personally.

      I personally lay all my buildings footprints out in stone or something similar that way I don't have to redo them when I make the builds foundation

    Great video! Also those are some sweet builds :) The planning & layout section where you quickly explained why you adjusted the layout for the roof at 6:35 was insightful along with other small details like the face of the sun. I've been watching some build tutorials but they rarely explain why they build this and that, they're kind of made for people to follow along instead of explaining the process. It would be a great experience to see you go in depth with tips like that. Thanks for the video and good luck with your channel!

      Haha, there’s actually videos on the internet about how Steve is literally the strongest being ever! Imagine carrying a stack of 1x1m Gold blocks!! And that’s just 1 stack! Now think of the weight of 36 shulkers full of them 🤯

    What a fantastically useful overview of how to set up the "bones" of these builds! Also, great point about the y-levels (height variances) on the different buildings in a multi structure build. Thanks so much for one of the most helpful how-to Minecraft videos I've seen in a long while.

    Good video - I have great intentions to build things (and have plenty of ideas) but rarely plan very much before I build. Consequence is I have lots of partially completed builds scattered around my world that I have got some way through and then realized it doesn't fit or needs so much extra height to look right. I usually abandon them and go do something else (equally as chaotic)!

    Nice video Adie. Do you plan on having videos on working with the terrain or your thought process when choosing shapes and sizes of say that fishing village you made? I think that's something a lot of people struggle with. Turning their plans into their visions, or how exactly to make their wall curve naturally and deal with that 5-10 block jump in height. #FoodForThought

    • @AdieCraft
      @AdieCraft  2 роки тому +4

      Thanks Typort. Yes I will be covering some of that in the later episodes with organic shapes and and the angles. Also an episode on realism and using references

    I've always been very bad at building and I never really understood why, except for a lack of practice. I want to start building better and this video might actually help me a lot in that aspect. Especially the fact that you said that the planning of a layout and a vision for what you want your build to be is so important instead of just starting to place blocks. The most I've always thought about a build beforehand was something along the lines of 'It is going to have two stories and maybe a little side area' and then you just end up with something that looks very bad. I'm excited to get better though and will definitely be checking your other videos out!

    Adding extra portions to my house has helped my house to look better. Sometimes I run into an issue where the roof doesn't quite connect to the other areas of the house. I mostly encounter this problem when building larger houses. Do you have any tips on how to deal with this?

    • @AdieCraft

      Yes, Pick the biggest area and build the roof as you would normally. Then simply build the other roofs to that. I will have a full episode on roofs coming soon, so make sure to subscribe and check the other episodes in the series.

    I - Your vision: What will you build? What will it be? What will it do?
    =Remember, your build almost certainly WILL be different from your vision: it's not about making a 1:1 replica of your vision, it's about clarity.
    II - Location: What dimension? What biome? Enough space?
    =Explore! There's a huge variety of terrain.
    =What will the direction of the build be? How will the Sun shade it? Will it the important parts of the build be dark? Important with shaders on!
    III - Size: Real-world scale or bigger? Footprint (ie. how much of the ground it needs)?
    =Decide on the size, and make sure you have enough space. Simple as that.
    IV - Planning and layout: Experiment, iterate, gain clarity.
    =Planning is especially useful for large builds. Gives you something to build from.
    =Consider: composition, 1-block or 2-block centre, height variation of the ground, height(s) of the build.
