Hi there pro builder here. Just here to add a few more tips on building and one of them is over detailing and you seem to suffer from this alot.
First is instead of finding areas in your builds that feel empty and detailing them using bulky blocks like slabs and walls,try to use smaller blocks like trapdoors,fence gates,hanging signs if possible.
Second thing to consider is texturing. When trying to detail a build try to make sure it makes sense,and if there is nothing more to detail in your house then try to texture it.
All of that considered try to avoid over detailing us much as possible,hope this helps
(I also suggest you trying to build in a fantasy mediaeval style because it works so well for me,but you can choose anything style you want)

At 20:33 I feel inclined to pick the one on the left. One thing the later builds sort of neglected was the importance of negative space. You shouldn’t feel the need to cover every surface because otherwise it loses balance and starts to be a bit too much.
Yeah, the one on the right seems a bit too complicated.

i've been having trouble getting back into building in minecraft. seeing youtubers create mega-builds that are so GOOD and they do it in SURVIVAL just made me feel like my silly little houses were inadequate, which clearly meant i should NOT be allowed to build ever.
this video made it seem like a fun little activity again, rather than something i have to be the best at or else i shouldn't be allowed to do it at all.

many experts actually believe red pandas to be the only real pandas, not the other way around.
I litterly just started a server so I can grow n learn as a player, and building I struggle ALOT with. Depth and detail and balancing it somtimes feels hard to find. Especially in survival when your hunting for your pallete. So learning to detail n create depth with a minimal pallete is my current focus.
Watching the hermitcraft series has helped alot too. The Inspo is real ♡

Can definitely see an improvement. Gradients and colour palette blend together better, but you have also improved with form/ shape if builds as just adding small bits of depth and less rectangular shapes really makes a difference
fyi no ones style is solely theirs every great builds off of their teacher but also from how they decide to evolve those teachings.
This is really cool to watch at someone who would like to be better at building. It really shows how practice is the best way to get better

I have been getting good aswell with taking inspiration from real life. So my curent survival build is merging viking and japanese build village with terraform a detailed builds. And watch good builders. My favourite to improve my skill is etho, bdubs, pearl, keralis and grian

Also use a debug stick for some added ambient, it does snowy grass blocks, lit furnaces, damaged anvils, waterlogged blocks, turns logs, etc

Quick tip. Its very helpful to not build at a 2 block center. Always build on an odd number center I perfee 1 and 3. Never 2 and 4. Especially in medieval, gothic, japanese, cyberpunk, and chinese. also while building, grow your arsenal. Gothic, victorean, chinese, japanese, cyberpunk, solarpunk, ancient, ruined. It will really help.
Jaron, the bakery group and server are very talented and have probally some of the best builders in all of minecraft

The advice I can tell anyone who wants to start their building journey, I'll always tell them to watch videos that show the *process* of building and not a block-by-block tutorial.
For me the mansion was 4th but it looks really good for the reference

I don’t know why, but building in Minecraft is so hard for me, and this video has inspired me to build. I love how he gives tips while also not making it a video on tips for building better.
