@Bucs80SC actually I am referring to laying acetylene on it's side. The inside of an acetylene bottle is actually filled with a foam material soaked in acetone which dissolves the acetylene. Laying it on it's side causes it to run to the top in concentrate and allows the acetone to escape. This can be unsafe if you don't allow it time in the vertical position before actual use. The general rule of thumb is to allow the tank the same amount of time vertical as you had it horizontal. Good Luck!

Great video. I like the fact that you have a dust pan and shop vac in your service van. But please, do something about the plastic bag lol...

Nice job on the organizing. I bet it took all day to accomplish that job and 1 service call to destroy all of that work too... From one tech to another.... Long lives the never ending job of work truck organization... A process no homeowner even knows about but is glad (un awares) for a tech who is well organized. Onwards and upwards.

You shouldn't allow acetylene bottles to lay on their sides.

@robbygill1 I am aware that the tanks should be stored upright. However, The tanks I have are hollow tanks packed with a porous rock (not foam) that is saturated with acetone. If you have to store a tank on its side you should wait between 30 min and one hour before use. Its not like if you store one on its side for a month that you have to stand it up for a month before use. The only reason for that is to prevent the acetone from leaking or going into the regulator on your torches. But thanks!

That has nothing to do with OSHA. OSHA is on the job safety prevention requirements. DOT is more like it, but they don't require service worker to strap down their tanks.

Awesome set up. I have a question though. I'm finishing out my 2nd year of vo tech for hvac and soon I'm gonna be looking for a position.. How much of that was supplied by the company? I have most all my hand tools and just need to buy a set of gauges and a meter.
