As a 16 year old I was a helper for a guy that did basically what you do, and he had the same kind of truck. He was a older guy who built bridges for the Army in Viet Nam. He was like you very talented, and could repair anything. I cant say I made much money, but the guy was a super guy, and could tell jokes all day long. And I love to laugh so we were a good team. He would start out to fix some little old lady's A/C and end up fixing her washer, a leaking sink, ect, ect. The customer would ask me if I thought Gary would fix the sink for her. I would say Lady, Gary will fix anything you need fixing, all you have to do is ask. He helped me fix a broken heart, he could fix anything. I learned alot from him, which helped me the rest of my life.
God bless you Steve you save me 7000$ i own manufactural home i live in New Jersey when i decide to change new full plumbing old is from 1984. I hire i plumbing guy he asked me 7000$ i can afford to pay 7000$. And my wife told me to watch you video work how you work around. Last year i decided to work myself did my work in two day Friday and Saturday.. thank you for your video you showed people love you.. god bless you again you number one plumber 🥇
I use a 1985 1 ton rated 15 passenger Van with seats removed. I am a Handyman and do most everything. The Van is full of stuff. I just recently shoved a 2"X4"X16' through the windshield. I envy your walk-in van. If I were younger, that would be my choice. I am 80 yrs old, it's probably time to retire the van and me as well and sit on the sofa with your pooch. You have a great attitude, no wonder your pooch has lived so long. That's 112 years in human years.
Kestrel my old dog is retired now .she is home in dypers now...she will be 16 next month .she has been home for 3 years now .she does not want to go to work anymore ,,just sleep on couch is what she does.
Those box vans awesome. Had one for heavy equipment repairs. Sprinters are very expensive and are having alot of issues with blue tech. Only Mercedes or Freightliner dealers service them. Stay with American made truck. Gas GM 6.0 cheap starts in cold cheap easy to fix. We and all my buddies converted our fleet to Gas GM. No more diesels. Disaster Nice shows. Thanks from Long island NY.
awesome assortment of "stuff super impressive list of licenses, I wish you were closer to us in Connecticut, we sure could use the help on our circa 1890 home love the vids Steve!
hey Steve I like the way you handled customers and the jobs that you get . I'm a 20+ yr plumber my self I do res. comm. an service work . remod. but I have to say after watching you I'm kinda thinking about getting back into it. and your truck is how a work truck should be . thanks for the videos . Wilson 1
If you ever have a costumer say you charge to much, you need to show them your truck, you got a large investment in that truck. That is the cost of doing business. Great video
Or ask them do you say your doctor charges too much when u see him ? No you pay it well it takes as much schooling and liability insurance etc as it does to run a drs office so think about that a bit before you say that
Steve, you really need to mount a toilet to the top of that truck! 😂Awesome work i thought of buying a bread truck mounting a 4 foot break on a hinge for furnace change outs.
Step vans are not very popular in recent years with tradesmen, but they offer some advantages. They offer the most interior space for the vehicle length, not even the cab over engine tilt cabs can match. I would like to see more step vans used in the trades.
I have a smaller Sprinter van I work out of. only difference is mine is FULL of radio communications and computer/server parts, all the test tools and equipment and a work bench. I use LED work and drop lights, I had some of those tube type lights but they kept going bad so I cut the lamps off the cord and made extension cords out of them...
Thanks for sharing. Was wondering what your stock in truck looked like, but you gotta get rid of the old truck and trash to keep the neighbors happy, Guy. We have one month...before we start receiving free invites to Muni Court.
Hands down the best videos are of your truck, or shop on wheels if I may say. Very good investment, plus you don't have to go back and forth to the hardware store on job sites. Very professional 👍👍👍
holy shit man that's a lot of stuff ,you must have at least $80k worth in tools and equipment . my tools ain't even 1/4 that but I can still remove an a/c off the wall and repair it with what I got
You need a lot of gear to run your business ,most trades vans are the same chockablock ,same here in Australia customers don’t realise the amount of gear trades need
Jeez steve, if u are ever gonna have a yard sale please let me know sir!! U must have said manometer abt 6 times and id live to pick through what u don't need anymore
I like how you strip down old (Swapped-out) equipment from jobs and salvage (recycle) usable parts for other jobs! Question; Does the supply house(s) charge you "Wholesale" or "At cost" for the various parts?
you should take a look at our trucks....search up "plumbing truck interior" it is a different approach to way a plumbing and service truck should look like.
Very nice setup! I suppose you have a system for storing everything in the van, but how often do you take the time to go through it all and make sure everything is where it needs to be?
One hellava supply truck you have there Steve. Is there ever a time when your on a job and you think you have what you need on your truck and you don’t? That’s a run to the supply house. That had to happen a time or two. If it did, I’m sure it pissed you off!
I know this is an older video but I am still catching up. Great work truck and your stock is amazing. Out of interest , have you ever had the vehicle weight checked with all your gear in? Just going to look for part 2 now.
Hello Steven: Saw your video Re: Shower arm busted off in wall. I have ran into the same problem but found that Proto tool makes a nice E-z out # 9527- fits perfectly . I have a complete set of proto E-Z Outs and find they work out pretty good in my shop, these are the type w/ a straight side, really bites in quick.many sizes available too. Check em out.
Racks are the biggest problem with service trucks. The support brackets adventually fatigue the sheet metal they're secured to and tear out, and if ignored adventually everything comes crashing down on a big bump or turn...
+Mike Malone A friend I work with sometimes had this happen after I told him he was installing it wrong. His extension ladder holder was the failure point. See he is in his 70's and still working. Anyways he bought a new mercedes sprinter van, really nice setup BUT he didn't listen when I said that holder was not going to hold up with the hardware he used and where he mounted it. It lasted about a month and all came crashing down and damaging some of the interior of the vehicle in the process. He called me wanting me to design him a new setup and install it for him so I did all the work and it has been pretty solid not for about 2 years and counting.
Its really useful to carry all you need with you, but in Santo Domingo, where I live, its too risky. You can have you truck emptied in one night in this city.
lot of people don't get that when you show up to a customers house to stay there it's billable time it's not billable time you have to go to suppliers for parts toilets tubs that's a different
Hey Steven. Love your videos and many different work places you get to. Do you have a system of purchasing replacement parts that you use from your truck. Do you have a weekly shopping list or just go replace whatever you use when you use it. Just wondering given many different parts you require. Keep the videos coming. Thanks. Appreciate the family friendly presentation as I often reference your videos to children and grand children. Regards, Jim
I saw your Testo 550 was in the case. Do you keep it in the case and reassemble it and break it down between calls and store it in that case?I heard you get 10 miles to the gallon, that's remarkable as I get only 11 to the gallon in my Ford E250. My Uncle used the same kind of bread truck in Weymouth, Ma doing oil and and later did AC too. He loved the Aluminum body and traveled with his poodle companion for years.. Claimed he was a work dog and had to earn his keep. LOL

Charles Miller damn bro this is an awesome story, it’s good to have role models like this in your life
Your welcome Charles , now give me back my wrench you took from my truck years ago
@Jaydrains 😂😂😂
God bless you Steve you save me 7000$ i own manufactural home i live in New Jersey when i decide to change new full plumbing old is from 1984. I'm impressed. I think you are at the top of your field.

Seven licenses, you are one smart fellow! Very impressive Steve.
Love those Grumman step Van's. My dad had plumbing step vans for many years. His last one was a 1992 NYPD Chevy paddy wagon
I thought my trailer was the best setup I had ever seen until I seen your truck. Sure is a awesome setup

Very nice and organized ,plus you have room to haul water heater, threader machines, furnaces...very nice tour.
When that alarm goes off, bet you come a runnin with a 38 special mama!
I miss seeing your pup running back and forth across the dash of your old truck. That was a cool little dog.
Kestrel my old dog is retired now .she is home in dypers now...she will be 16 next month .she has been home for 3 years now .she does not want to go to work anymore ,,just sleep on couch is what she does.

You have an awesome rig. I like how you can carry all sorts of equipment/materials for different jobs.

My dream truck
Nice truck. The price of doing business. Also nice billboard.
Step vans are not very popular in recent years with tradesmen, but they offer some advantages. They offer the most interior space for the vehicle length, not even the cab over engine tilt cabs can match. I would like to see more step vans used in the trades.
That list of licenses on the body is great marketing
Required at least in some areas.
In some areas it is Required
Over here its 100% required, it's actually a question on the master plumbing test
+ElfNet Gaming cool beans always not to have a nice truck to work out of
Thanks for sharing. Was wondering what your stock in truck looked like, but you gotta get rid of the old truck and trash to keep the neighbors happy, Guy. We have one month...before we start receiving free invites to Muni Court.
I was a telecom field technician. I can relate. You got to have a truck you can work easily out of
Hands down the best videos are of your truck, or shop on wheels if I may say. Very good investment, plus you don't have to go back and forth to the hardware store on job sites. Very professional 👍👍👍
Forget the 14' I need one of these. Always wondered how it looked on the inside nice truck
First Choice Service LLC ( StL MO) i set this one up the way i wanted it .. it was pretty much just 2 long shelves on each side when i got it
All it's missing is a mini kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee pot lol nice set up though it's got everything that's for sure!!
Cant wait to see the new truck.
holy shit man that's a lot of stuff ,you must have at least $80k worth in tools and equipment . my tools ain't even 1/4 that but I can still remove an a/c off the wall and repair it with what I got
This is THE service truck. Nice Steven.

Next level, next level.... You ever have any issues with thieves trying to break into your truck??
I like how you strip down old (Swapped-out) equipment from jobs and salvage (recycle) usable parts for other jobs!
Question; Does the supply house(s) charge you "Wholesale" or "At cost" for the various parts?
Now I don’t feel bad about carrying too much stuff in my work trailer.
I need to get you a shirt that says hover you got a lot helicopters lol
Nice setup you have most everything in that truck! Only you forgot to show us your tailgate grill Steven!

lazaro hernandez thanks for the comment
You ever pick up any ladies with that truck Steve? Ha just messing with you ,that truck is perfect for the trade
enginemodify i love my truck
Based on some of Steve’s videos from 2020, I guess you will not find any Zöller sump pumps in the van today.
I’m your ice cream man, stop me when I passing by…
The Work Horse 🐎
I don't know why I find this kind of stuff so interesting. Wondered what kind of truck makes all that noise in your videos!
Need a 2021 update of the truck. I imagine 1/3rd of the truck is now dedicated to Zoeller sump pumps.
Very impressive Steve!
Impressive setup!
map37692 thanks for watching
nice madness! personally, if i had to mix my HVAC company with plumbing I would cry 😭
Nice Testo's brother! You can always trust an A/C guy that chooses testos over the rest of the junk out there :D
Ive also never seen the plastic recovery tanks. Still using the metal ones down in the south.
gramarmy its a fiberglass tank .it has a plastic outer cover there lighter then the steel tanks ..
gramarmy i like testo stuff
Very nice setup! I suppose you have a system for storing everything in the van, but how often do you take the time to go through it all and make sure everything is where it needs to be?
I bet he has it memorized
Of course Steve would have a flux capacitor in his truck
One hellava supply truck you have there Steve. Is there ever a time when your on a job and you think you have what you need on your truck and you don’t? That’s a run to the supply house. That had to happen a time or two. If it did, I’m sure it pissed you off!

Looks like a good "PLUMBERS" truck. Inadequate for A/C or refrigeration service work. Frodgys out there will know.
Nice service truck Steve
I was wonder how your truck looks .... now after washing a lot videos... a seen it.... thanks....
I am a plumber 2 my van has 2 ft of materials ect in the back of my van before u see the floor. lol
Its really useful to carry all you need with you, but in Santo Domingo, where I live, its too risky. You can have you truck emptied in one night in this city.

If I had a truck like that
I organize it
No limit what you can do
That's a loaded truck.
I'm going with a 16' for (mainly) installs.
Walter's Playground i got a 12 box so i could park in the city . at 14'is way to big to park anywere
Shoot us a pic of the hoses in the case. So you do break them down each call? Or, just 1st and last call of the day (in summer)
does that one have a diesel engine? what is the fuel mileage?
Turn the OLD TRUCK into a chicken coop or a duck habitat...or maybe a playhouse for Baby...she's a diva
Do you carry first aid kit ?
it's as big as a house you would not think it's as big from the outside
What kinda diesel is in ur truck?
Great setup steve. Should've looked a little before asking you to make a video- I'm a polock so forgive me lmao
no worries my friend
I had to put explosive signs on both side of my truck all because of the different tanks
have you got a half inch female to female cooker adaptor and can you send it to liverpool uk ?
Do you, have you, inventoried All the stuff you have in your great mobile shop.?
I saw your Testo 550 was in the case. Do you keep it in the case and reassemble it and break it down between calls and store it in that case?I heard you get 10 miles to the gallon, that's remarkable as I get only 11 to the gallon in my Ford E250. Does anyone know where you can you find the hanging plastic drawers like the on at 7:30 of this video?
I bet U-line has them.
nice armrest cover!
Dennis Noone i have a real armrest under the socks lol
Oh and another thing, some roads here don't allow anything over 5 or 6 thousand pounds I can't remember. Have you had that problem anywhere?
+The Air Conditioning Guy i have not had a problem with weight on roads up my way
In the New England states, trucks like this can go almost anywhere. The exception would be parkways. Commercial vehicles are not allowed on parkways.
