If only there was some way to have all 4 wheels put down power. Someone should invent that. Call it “4 Wheel Drive” or something
Pie in the sky, such technology is decades away
@@rickyspanish4792 Tis but a fantasy.
someone should hire this guy
Good idea but as we have learned from this video, it wouldn't be realistic enough.
Well I’ve heard some rumours that a few german engineers have tried it out. Think they work under a brand called ”Autounion” whatever that is🤔
"One long aaaAAAAAAAAAGH" is my new favorite definition of CVT
Going from a manual car to a snowmobile is a weird feeling. My Yamaha Nitro has a CVT and you just gun it lol
Don't you dare humanize the CVT. I hate Nissan CVTs with a passion.
@@user-lw4hz5hx5h I had a rental Nissan with a CVT recently in a very hilly country. I genuinely thought about ending it all. I either had no power or all the power and it was extremely jerky because of that.
I prefer the abreviated version, "shit"
I used to have a Honda scooter with CVT, the keyword to connect that to "speed" is "eventually"
The PoV for these in real life is definitely a mix of "sky, ground, sky, ground" but at the same time your head is bouncing around like a goddamn pinball
And depending on your height and type of windshield, it's a blurry view. 😂😂😂
POV wise, you normally have less obscured view than what this simulator is giving you, but you also are geting bounced around way more than your camera does (thank god cus that would be motion sickness inducing)
also most off roaders dont wear seat beats
@@timmurphy4844I drove a UTV for work and definitely had to wear a seat belt lol, would've cracked my skull open on the roof otherwise.
@timmurphy4844 put your seatbelt on bro, no one's impressed
@@timmurphy4844 WHAT?? lmao
There is actually a mod that add stunt dummys as drivers and you can have the camera be on their head (eyes). Its VERY bouncy and confusing
Now we need the AWD video ;)
Just FYI, there should be a button for 4WD in the interior that you can interact with like the start/stop. Should be somewhere in the center console below the screen
Yup was going to comment this ,looks like i was beaten..... we need jimmer to see this.
@@nerfgodbigguy1405he said it in the video did he not?
@@dolbearrrBeam fairly recently (talking in order of years here) allowed you to directly interact with relevant buttons on the car, like hood releases and door latches with the cursor.
@@dolbearrr Nah, he only noticed he could click the on/off button for the engine.
If he angled the camera towards the centre console , there are 6 more switches bellow that and one of them turns on 4WD. ( the other buttons do somethings as well ) .
Hiding the UI also hides buttons.
The old "Opposite bonk to fix it" trick is one I try to use often.
I will say the BeamNG support guys are amazing. I used to have a copy of this game but could not remember how/where or whatever. Might have been a crowdfunding order or something. But with my name and expected email they must have found some record and supplied me with a steam code. So grateful. All within a couple days.
BeamNG is up there as one of indie gaming's greatest achievements
Man drives off a cliff 4 times simulator
Editor needs a bonus for this one. Admittedly a fertile source...
Agreed!!
That is a Can Am Maverick X3. I have one in my garage. It's the most fun you can have for 30k. I've hooned it at 75+ miles an hour on dirt roads, driven up the side of a mountain at a 45+ degree angle, pulled stuck cars out during a snow storm, and driven through mud deep enough to go over the hood and into the windshield hole.
It's very clearly a Hirochi.
No it isn't the most fun you can have for 30K....
@@MomedicsChannel He is talking about the real life version
8:45: "Now 'ole Jimmer here's in more trouble than Daisy the last time she wore those REALLY short shorts to work."
💀💀💀
Nice Dukes of Hazzard reference. 😂
Loooool.. Daisy's a fuckin' champ
the fact the car display shows its rear-wheel drive and he never noticed is so funny
6:22 You can use the radial menu to put your car in 4x4 mode.
He can also use the physical button in the cockpit.
Today I finally learned what is and what does a CVT:
“Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh”
Lol
The editing on these videos has been hilarious recently. Keep it up Jimmy and editor, you're both true cuties
❤
I seem to say this every time a vaguely offroad video gets posted up, but my dream racing game would be an "offroad Gran Turismo" with all the vehicle collecting and upgrading of that game, but your events would be stuff like rally and trail runs and rock crawls and mud bogs. Put it on the more realistic side of an arcade racer but not a full on simulator and you're good.
Do it again but actually with 4x4 turned on?
I haven't touched beam in months. I jumped into career mode and realized how much I miss it
I love how the dash literally showed 2 wheel drive the entire time. When Jimmy said "oh you can switch it from the dash" I thought it was going to be seen ... Nope.
You have to start BeamNG with vulkan rendering enabled to get VR working
I love how the british intensifies when jimmer gets exited
*excited
Cars also have functioning hoods, trunks, and door latches too! Was a somewhat recent update. There’s also functioning diff controls etc. in some vehicles
Love these beamng video where you actually do thing the game is meant for and not just destruction. Keep it up !
Loved the crowds reaction to Jimmy finally managing to turn a corner without dying. Was right there with them.
This was definitely editor-chans finest hour. The banjo scene killed me! :D
Love watching the dashboard the entire video! Also thanks for giving us the excuse for the bad driving at the beginning
Loving having you back making fairly regular vids!
the editing was top notch in this one, good shit!
meme-y editing is 11/10 *chefs kiss*
Loved this video Jimmer! You having fun, facing some adversity and the editing (5star)
love the BeamNG content and fun editing on this one
When Jimmy drove off the cliff I laughed harder than I have in months. That editing was top notch. Thank you editor-chan, for making me laugh so hard I woke my wife up.
and then he did it TWICE more lol
1:40 You're not an idiot, you're just committed to the MX-5 experience :)
Have one of these machines IRL, gotta say BeamNG is surprisingly realistic in their depiction...😳
P.S. : Been fortunate to drive/ride along some pretty crazy machinery, but stand by my opinion nothing comes close to a UTV fun and adrenaline-wise.
You should be able to control the 4 wheel drive and lights and diff from the inside cluster under the GPS! In the majority of the cars you have to open the hood from the inside where you usually would. You can also open most doors.
3 times in the same spot!!! I love you jimmer :D
Hey jimmer, in real life the head is positioned a bit higher but when cresting you literally cant see sht. Also a lot more fun in 2wd in real life. But it is amazing how fast these can go over rough terrain compared to big 4x4 vehicles. Anyways keep up the great content.
I just tried the Italy map you shared in one of your videos. Hours went by and I was having so much fun, wow!
Imagine BeamNG with Spintires terrain physics
Never mind that you'd probably need a supercomputer to run it
Your BeamNG Videos are criminally underrated
Thanks for showing off Beam for its offroading Jimmy! Many players tend to hate the CVT in the side by side but I think it's perfect. Though it's definitely an odd experience!
You can go into options, camera, and crank up Inertia Strength and Look-ahead angle to your liking to give some more motion while driving. You WILL want to turn these to 0% once you figure out VR though! Cheers!
This is so awersome. Thanks to the editor chan, he's the best! So funny! =D
Jimmy is the GOAT of jinxing! :D
i do like these kind of videos alot.
keep it up broadbent.
editing was fucking hilarious on this one!
Well done mr editor, you made this even funnier
That tree looks like your favourite spot Jimmy😂, great video mate
To help with the vr, when you launch it with steam select Vulcan instead of the normal game, then settings>display(not graphics)>vr activate. Hope this helps. Love the videos!
I love how BeamNG nails a torque converter automatic better than any game. Oddly enough, My Summer Car (the muscle car automatic) comes in second.
It's alot of fun to drive it. Been experimenting with the Career mode and been enjoying it alot. Very chill.
Love to see the BeamNG content, or any content from you Jimmer, so keep up the good work.
Editor chan completed some solid work on this one
The Aurata, and some other vehicles in BeamNG, actually have interactive interiors. You can turn on 4 wheel drive by clicking a switch inside the cockpit.
Editing is on point
Course gives me the vibes the Bolivia section of Dakar 2018 had for it's first Special Stage, love these SxS cars and their wild offroading, definitely give them a shot with borderline hill climb rally stages
@1:22 "it is Jimmsday, my dudes"
I finally got around to buying BeamNG and I am absolutely loving it in VR! Hopefully you are able to get yours working.
I'm really enjoying the editing lately. 👍🏼👍🏼
There's a key binding to move the camera down/up and forwards/backwards!
OMG! I've done this challenge sooooo many times, LOL! It's fun but it's LONG and treacherous! It starts out actually relatively tame but by the end you are in a full panic sweat!
My brother had a Lancer with CVT and it was literally the smoothest acceleration it was neat lol
BeamNG never dissapoints 🚀🚀
We need to get Jimmer over to America and let him experience driving one of these in real life. We got some of the best trails in the world up here in Northern minnesota.
BEAMNG does a very good job at differentiating the map from the car. you feel like you are driving on the map. in some other sims, its like the car and the ground is glued to together.
imagine a full WRC mod for beam, that would mega.
Was waiting for the Austin Powers reference. Did not disappoint.
I haven't laughed that hard in awhile. Hey, at least you're consistent.
You can customize the UI, even split the UI for inside camera and outside camera, so for sitting inside you can basically have it only be the things needed, like swapping between 2wd and 4wd, and locking diffs, etc.
The third time you went down the same cliff really cracked me up.
CBT gearbox sounds great.
quick tech tip, instead of deleting your ui apps, alt+u is the hotkey to hide your ui
I appreciate BeamNG videos so much
I did this in VR yesterday 👌🏾
Finally the content we all subbed for
8:45 certified jimmy broadbent moment
I had the exact same crash at 8:45 on my first run, and my honest reaction was pretty much the same as Jimmer's lol
And forever more that corner was known as Broadbent's Folly
Heya Jimmer, if you do alt+S and alt + D, you can put it in 4-wheel drive, and turn on diff locks without your hud.
extra points for the editor on this one. jimmer still discovering buttons needs to figure out how beamng works 😄
The name of that cliff dropoff: Broadbent's Black Hole.
It's called a Side by Side (SxS) Jimmer
Thank you Editor for the memes scattered throughout the videos ❤
I was in johnson valley last week at king of the hammers. I am not a racer but have spent my time in SxS and 4x4s, I feel like this view is accurate if you have stock seats and are 5'4". A serious person would get seat risers for a SxS, or if you are of normal height you will actually look down a hair. so you can kind of see the front of your vehicle.
Tfw there is now a Johnson Valley map
@@scrambledmandible lol its been in the game for like almost a year now but yeah, im sure people dont realize it is based of a real area. It was cool to finally go out there in real life and see everything. Beamng was actually a sponsor of king of the hammers this year. In the general store they had full racing simulators with moza DD in the Johnson valley map and they were letting people drive around.
You are the best Jimmy, real OG, Love ur content
I'm all for jimmer becoming a beamng channel.
you can turn of ui in cockpit in the ui menu individually they still are there when your not in cockpit view
Only the finest CarRock content in this video! 🤣
"Beamng have to make the dakar game" so fking true
awesome editing :)
Jimmy i think thers quick key for transfer case i think its alt+s to change ranges
There's buttons you can press or at least hotkey for 4wd.
Also there's a speedometer on the dash and a little image on the left that shows you that are only in rear wheel drive...
Editor, you're doing an incredibly good job!
This'll be fun to watch. :P
BeamBG in VR is my new favourite driving game.
Editor chan made me laugh a few times here
we love you Jimmer
BEAMNG IS LIFE
Because of the banjo solo, I spilled my coffee. Through the nose.
As someone who's 195cm tall and have driven some similar cars to what you find in game, I can confirm it's a short king simulator 'til you adjust the camera settings
It's so cool that the car has a working satnav
Nice work Jimmy, what were your steering wheel settings for this challenge? I am curious what the turning radius you're using.
Well Jimmer, you can use trackir to lean out the car whilst rockclimbing? Haven't tried if this works in VR, but it might be a blast? i'll try next week when the new gpu arrives. Also, CVt should go as fast backwards as forwards . Thanks for the video!
