Correction: BeamNG runs on the Torque3D engine, not Crytek as I said in this video.
Just took you 11 months to figure it out
was just gonna say that
I wish it was the crytek engine 😭 it would run so nice!
It was originally the crytek engine ik for certain when it first came out, and back then it took a good gpu and a top end cpu to run a single car
its amazing that this game is almost 10 years old now
They did use Cryengine when they first began this project.
BeamNG has a bright future, thanks to UA-camrs like you!
Thank you for portraying it as something more than just a game made for crash compilations!
eyy its CarMighty
Hi car mighty vids big fan :D
Hi carmighty
Yes ! More content like this should exist! The devs spend so long perfecting this game and they improved the handling model! Well I’m coming from a potato lol 😂 lowest graphics on small island USA and gets 20fps max
hi cmv do you remember me i subscribed at around 1.5k ?
Finally
A youtuber that truly understands BeamNG and doesn't just show videos of cars crashing in to walls
Props to you for showcasing the true beauty of this game :)
just tried to find all the Beamng.forum regulars here:) you are the only one i recognized..

Heyyy! Tbh, I don't really care about Automation, apart from the amazing engine creation procedures and its magnificent track! The cars of Automation are a massive ''No'' from me, though! Compared to BeamNG cars, the Automation ones look like they're made of tinfoil covering an aluminium food container (you know, those with the white paper lids)! ;-P
@@McBeamer94 ok but who asked
@@LucasBE1 HAHAHAHA
the great thing with beam ng is that it's so much more than a rally sim. you can have road cars, track cars, trucks, and buses. it's a real driving sim. you can play with the in games cars, from mods, make your own cars from automation, tune the in game cars the way you want, drive how you want it. it lacks purpose, but it's one of the best sandbox games in my opinion
BeamNG is like Minecraft with cars
It lacks purpose simply because it is *multi-purpose* !
The purpose is to drive, like it says in the title.
Or you can download a Hotwheels track and drive a Fiat uno

@@kyestar88 the most recent update adjusts those physics to be more sim like, I can only assume more updates to come will make it better and better. Broadbent's endorsed it's latest driving physics if that counts for anything
@@kyestar88 the point of BeamNG is to accurately replicate all real aspects of cars. Saying the physics of BeamNG isn't meant for rally is like saying IRL physics aren't meant for rally lmao
@@SoI_Badguy well what about the Tyre model its basically non existent in beamng
Always good to find another person that realizes that BeamNG isn't a demonstration of crashing, but rather one of the most, if not the most complete simulator out there...
I feel that in the future, BeamNG will become something like a simulation and research platform for drivers and researchers, while still having a lot of characteristics and mechanics a classic racing game player can be familiar with and enjoy. Truly a game with limitless potential
beamng tech is that research platform
I've got both. BeamNG to me is so casual and fun. I don't take it seriously and if I crash I laugh. In dirt rally, when I crash I'm glad my qr is bolted so I don't throw my wheel at the screen.
Git gud. Don't get mad at your equipment cause you can't drive :p
@@0xsergy it was a joke. Just meaning I take dirt 2, more seriously. My qr isn't actually bolted and I never break things I buy.
@@0xsergy no actually this guy accidentally killed two monitors so he bought a monitor and a table (to bolt his wheel)
@@hirdy932 You are taking a sim-cade seriously while laughing off a proper sim? That's not something to boast about :)
Also, it's "easier" because the physics makes much more sense, being closer to reality.
Beam ng is far from casual
There is actually a Mod for BeamNG that adds the co driver with some scenarios, i would really recommend you to try that one out (and also some mods in general, there are some really high quality ones)
The east coast actually does look like that once you get around 40 min away from a city
They did their research!
feels a lot like northern New Hampshire to me, anywhere north of Meredith. they did a really good job on the map.
Yeah, it reminds me of the Appalachians with the mountains in the back. I take drives in spring all the time through the mountains and you see tons of different flowers, trees, and everything is super green usually.
Someone made a fully realistic Pike’s Peak map (with both paved & gravel) recently.
Its an absolute riot in the rally Pessima. Highly recommend checking it out.
What’s the name of the mod I can’t find it 😂
@@boriess1484 I will check! I’m pretty sure it had Pike’s Peak in the title tho. Hopefully they have updated it to lastest version!
Oddly enough, when it comes to rallies in BeamNG I have a super easy time with it, but when it comes to Dirt Rally I can never get the hang of it.
Me too.
Same tbh. I find dirt rally to be way to skiddy. Like every road is made of mud and ice. I’ve never actually rallied so that might be accurate but I’ve never found there to be the expected grip in DR2.0
That's because DR tries to pass up for a sim, while BeamNG actually is one. Give it a go and you will notice that RBR with NGP is also "easier" than DR. Simply because it actually makes sense.
@@getsideways7257 then play 2.0
@@beautifulbeaner I do when I feel like it, but it's still a semi-sim.
Jimmy has been an inspiration to many games for me, but I discovered Beam before Jimmy, after being a massive fan of it's predecessor 'Rigs of Rods'. Worth a look if you get bored, the same physics concept, but much earlier.
Something new in Beam I've discovered is the traffic will randomly run from you if you're in a stock police car (non modded), literally the best fun I've had in the game in too long. Endless police chases and pit manoeuvres makes for great entertainment. Could be a good call for some new content!
Anyways, new to the channel, like your stuff! Great to see Beam getting the appreciation it deserves!
Thank you for letting me know it was the CryTek engine. I absolutely adored the Crysis series on both PC and console, and still have fond memories of multiplayer action
I was incorrect here. It's actually on the Torque3D engine.
Definitely looks like the East coast Appalachian area. I drive dirt roads similar to this and you'll see all those flowers and different trees and plants everywhere. It's pretty green too. Almost like Scotland.
BeamNG is like the Dark Souls of racing games
yes , dark souls sim racing
@@FauziDwiSeptio he just copied someone else’s comment too lol. Lame.
How's the FFB in BeamNG? I find that to be the real draw of Dirt Rally 1 and 2 compared to other sims. So much information is conveyed through the FFB; track surfaces, slip, damage, momentum and more.
Official VR support is a huge plus for Dirt Rally as well. The sense of depth when navigating turns really helps a lot.
You should give Richard burns rally a go, still great today.
Great driving in that car - and at times your breathing alone tells you what you need to know about BeamNG. Gotta love the danger!
Great video!
I played rigs of rods when I was younger and later BeamNG just for the soft body physics at first, but BeamNG turned out my favorite simulator down the way.
Reminds me of playing taking my ‘79 Celica out on the back roads. It made me a really good driver through. Every kid should take a slow car and try to go fast on dirt roads.
If you grew up driving 70s cars, it's actually a faithful simulation to driving on 14" wheels with a contact patch the size of a golf ball, which you eventually buff up your daily to have 380hp while weighing about half of a present day car.
Rally in beamng is the best. I love to just hop in a purpose built rally car, and just shred, but if I’m up for a challenge, I’ll do what you did, and take a car street car and push it to it’s limit.
There's just something about watching cars get CRUMPLED INTO PANCAKES AT HIGH SPEEDS, THAT JUST NEVER EVER GETS BORING! x'DDD
AND THE SOUND, OMG, THE SOUND DESIGN IS SOOOOOOOO GOOD!
You can hear every single crunch, every crack, every shatter of glass, and every POP as your car gets realistically destroyed to oblivion, most gacing games in existence cannot properly replicate this!
BeanNG still needs a lot of work. I'm currently into setting up AI races and it's a lot of work. There's a limited number of scenarios that you can race against the AI with. To race against several at once you need time to set things up. Include too many AI and it bogs the CPU/GPU down. Then the AI are slow and have no intelligence. But hey it's still Alpha and still great fun. Just wish some of the better racing titles could use the BeanNG damage/physics model.
Try beamMP
@@Jnibbs24 Yeah, BeamMP removes the AI processing bottleneck with real players and can support a ton of cars if you have a beast of a PC (or you all race Pigeons lol)
@@Serzari i need to try the mp mod to see how much it bogs my fps down
The MP is where it's at dude, playing against AI always sucks
I really liked the old pre-remaster of Utah, simply because my favorite rally line has been turned into a rock climbing course :(
When you go off the highway at the end with the gas/repair station then turn to the right of the road at the station you had this incredibly narrow windy dirt road with multiple hairpins and somehow still trees
True, it's hard to drive it fast now without ripping a wheel off or careening down the cliff 🤣
Its amazing to see beamng drive still being constantly updated with hughe overhauls or small tweaks to this day it also has fluid dynamics and aerodynamics and basically everything the only thing more real than beamng is real life and not by much and i saw a video a few weeks ago by another channel and they were explaining how beamng is the next racing game and honestly it could be the all around racing game from f1 to nascar to gt to rally wit hall the little tthings that are in between such as you said a co driver, or stuff like a radio in f1 ect
"I don't know if I have the 'cojones'" As a spanish that made my day JAJAJA
I haven't jumped into Beam ng in a little over a year, but now I have to reinstall it and see what's changed. Thanks for the memory jog :D
The last update included a revised tyre grip model, and it's a LOT better on tarmac now, perhaps dirt too
BeamNG only got good at their dirt physics not too long ago and with there recent patch the tarmac model finally has improved. It only took 7 years....The years and years before then it was only good for watching the softbody physics crashes. They're finally listening to their supporters and making the driving actually good in a game about driving, who would of thunk it. Sadly few games have that "One" amazing thing about them that makes them what they are and that's was their destruction model does for them. Everything else was janky as hell for 7 years and its good to finally. So with them finally working on the driving models "After 7 Years" it could be a game that stands above some dedicated racing games instead of just being a Destruction Sandbox. If they dont want to go "sim" and still be more jani and arcade like, maybe they could license their tech to other developers who are serious about sim racing, or their physics tech could be used for environmental destruction in a shooter or something. Anyways, Who knows, It takes forever to see new things and changes in the gaming industry.
Ya gotta think tho this game is still not even close to done if they keep improving the game at this pace it will be a proper sim in the near future. At this point it's already realistic enough to build skill with a wheel if you get set up right
@@jacobkuhn7312 agreed but this game was released in early access over 7 YEARS ago. Its about time they started making some significant changes to their driving physics model among other things, Like i said, Its great theyre finally getting closer to realistic driving mechanics because the last 7 years its been pure jank. They sure took their sweet ass time. They havnt really done that much work over that whole period. This game should be alot farther along than it is. Its not like the dev team is 2-3 people. They just got lazy over and made only made small changes over the years but most was just user generated content anyways and the Automation Car game importer. So yes, its about time they got a fire lit under their ass and are making big changes now and listening to their community
Lame comment.

Lol the first car looked like a stepped on banana when you were finished with it 😂 i really love this game, wish i could play it! Great video bro 👍
Driving sims are harder than actual driving.
Ah yesss, the art of rally OST as background music. You couldn't choose a more appropriate song
I am thankfull that someone is understanding what BeamNG is for. In my opinions its the most realistic sim out there
Some mods have co drivers 👍
Yes! Came looking for this comment
“Wheels are 90 degrees now, okay”
Pretty much Beamng haha
I think what makes BeamNG harder is the lack of a co-driver, might not seems like much but it makes all the difference on a rally stage, specially on a track you have no idea whats up next. I've played quite a bit of dirt but I still need to buy BeamNG so I can see that myself, looks like so much fun
Yeah this game is not trying to be a rally game and if we have same map in both games with even co driver. Dirt rally 2 will be alot harder and look at the car he is using lmao
@@bardanmalla193 I got BeamNG a month or so ago and I must say I have a harder time in rally on BeamNG than DiRT, and it is much more rewarding in BeamNG lol, the damage makes it much better than DiRT in many aspects, even though it feels like wheels can bend way too easly... The lack of a co-driver, iconic rally cars and more interesting rally stages still puts DiRT as my go-to for rally.
One thing BeamNG also did much better was automatically recognizing my Thrustmaster T16000m joystick, being able to precisely and quickly move the wheels makes it for a much better experience, while DiRT I have to use the keyboard.
@@lucaprado544 i mean does the difficulty comes from authenticity or because its not designed to be a rally game
@@bardanmalla193 Compared to DiRT BeamNG does a great job on physics, its difficulty comes from both authenticity due to the damage, where in DiRT you abuse the car, go flying off the road at 100km/h to get only a small dent, in BeamNG, you jump too high and break a spring, hit a hole while sideways and bend the wheel, etc... And also from the lack of features for rally, to me the co-driver makes a HUGE difference, the checkpoints BeamNG has are terrible for rally and most of the maps aren't all that interesting when compared to DiRT ones.
But BeamNG gives you a better sense of... Consequences lmao, risk vs reward, as I mentioned, in DiRT you can really abuse the car with no consequences, in BeamNG you have to be more careful, when you get a close call its much more intense, and when you actually crash its much more fun lol
If you wanna learn coordination... try Grand Prix Legends... if you can survive a lap of the Nürburgring... you can survive anything...
Every rallye sim: try to finish first!
BeamNG: try to finish...period!
And yet it's so satisfying!
I love that you can build the car yourself! If you build something stupid, you will blow up your engine just flooring it or crash at the first corner...or even first bump!
This game is the absolute must for any sim fan, car crashtest fan, or car tuning fan. Other than the tire grip being slightly weird for some cars on the tarmac and the tires loosing grip kinda too fast, the game is 100% perfect. AND ITS ABSOLUTELY HARDCORE. I can drive much faster IRL with my 30y/o crapcar than in BeamNG with my T-300Alc wheel...
Interesting to see Barney Stinson having a blast with BeamNG 😄
is dirt 2.0 easy or you're just that dam good? Either way good enough reason to buy another sim👍thx
its not an easy game
its actually harder than BeamNG
Ben T. That’s debatable I think
@@greensamurai5805 I find it a lot harder to push a car to the limit in Dirt. Feels kinda awkward and disconnected. Tarmac in Dirt is trash.
i wouldn't really call beamng a driving sim more of a physics sim
You know a simulator is good when the cars start acting like skateboards
I cannot wait until Sim Racing Devs begin transition to future IDEs and engines that employ neural net AI on a large scale. Thin the new jaw-dropping scale and accuracy seen in MSFT Flight Simulator, but on all of the world's greatest tracks, roads, and off all the ocean cliffs. Even remove the AI nightmare hurdles, just to take inspiration from exciting future pipeline tools. If we can efficiently apply shit like Unreal 5 was teasing last year, then these games will hopefully become monumentally easier to iterate on and help solidify our beloved hobby and its unpredictably wavering success. IMHO, Turn 10, Slightly Mad, Kunos-Sim, iR, and Codemasters should be widely applauded. I have yet to try BeamNG, but I soon hope to drag my sim rig outta the office and try it out for the first time this month... after getting it working with MarioKart Home Circuit, OFCOURSE. lol!!!
Using a car made for dirt makes it easier, but using cars made for roads on these tracks is incredibly fun
How come I had and enjoyed AC on my gaming PC but didn´t know of BeamNG until I started watching content like this on YT as opposed to just crashes. I guess that´s what made me think BeamNG was just about crashes - this is what 90% of videos on YT are about.
11:00, I do love the self-teasing you do. 😂
Beamng's biggest graphical downfall is the intense unrealistic level other games have their graphics, as well as, the default time being locked at around 9 in the morning and the weather mostly clear. Adjust the weather and time a smidge and it looks way better. My personal favorite is east coast USA at 7 in the morning with slight cloud cover and speed and a fog density around 1.8-2.
edit: as well as the fact most videos are on flatter maps with no trees or foliage.
Richard burns rally: guess I'll die!
The name of this game is worse than the former champ..."game stock car"
It's a little awkward with the .drive tacked on. Half the time I just call it BeamNG
its because BeamNG is the companys name and the added on .drive basically identifies the project as their driving sim
there is also BeamNG.research
@@alouisschafer7212 that's their silly reasoning....I own 90% of sim games from the last 15yrs but had no idea what this weird game is.

Thats a realy good game !
The Physics and dymanics model in BeamNg is stunning and the vehicle tuning is mind blowing! Proper full control.
The thing is, the no worse than average overall physics or graphics - the way ths cars handle - topped with the unforgivingly realistic crash model is what makes it truly the best driving simulator.
Honestly, I don’t understand how people find Dirt Rally so difficult, myself and a bunch of my friends could honestly do nothing but complain and argue over what is equally if not more challenging. Beam is definitely up there, among WRC and V-Rally.
We say V-Rally because of the roughness of the stages and the competitiveness of the AI, and WRC is often critiqued for how unforgiving the handling is. I think Beam just adds more because of the somewhat overwhelming destructibility of the cars also, alongside the unforgiving driving physics.
Art of Rally music is such a bopper
You are hilarious my dude. I was thinking "man this guy reminds me of jimmy" then you name-drop Jimmy lol. You have gained a sub good sir!
Im a Semi truck ( Lorri) driver from California. I can guarantee you the East coast looks more beautiful than you can imagine.
Project Cars 2 also has an awesome rally section too, but if you want it better buy it now they will stop selling it soon.
Dirt rally 2.0 is super easy.. personally i feel the original dirt rally was extremely better in handling, physics, and gameplay in general. Beamng i haven't had the opportunity to really play it much but definitely planning on getting back into it soon. Great video!
Its not easy. Anyone can say that.
This looks like harder than actually driving a car in that track. I know because i have driven. This looks like gimmick game "simulation"
@@dinoXAs2 i have beaten both dirt rally and dirt rally 2.0... 2.0 was actually really easy for me. The original dirt rally was definitely a little harder and alot more enjoyable. Especially in vr. As for beamng, i havent gotten around to playing it much, but the driving mechanics where pretty good for the most part. northern east coast looks like that lol. I mean if you go away from the big cities and is spring/summer
This marks the next chapter of gaming physics
in beamng you really have to use the hand break to shift around the weight of the car, so use it more than you think
same i thought, he said it doesnt quite work, but it only doesnt work as in dirt spinning the car on its own. you need to create a rotating inetrion first and then use the brake
Richard Burns Rally is even harder, though missing soft-body physics.
You need to try Richard Burns Rally and complete the rally school !! Then get the modded version of the game and download some stages and proper rally cars and try that

I play beamng a lot, it is fun. I use a sunburst off-road with a stage 3 adjustable turbo, no exhaust, max boost. And lots of the time a 666ci mod for the barstow.
Beamng made it clear that no other game is an actual driving simulator
It's just typical rally...but it's Group B 😶
3:18=Time to press the insert key, so typical. For me, it's now mainly when I'm doing 130+ MPH. Especially when I'm testing the downforce configuration that I made in Automation. ;)

The East Coast map feels like Greenwich, Connecticut haha.
I went from beaming to dirt rally and idk how to explain, one moment it’s super easy, the next I am under steering off the road, that’s probably just me
I only can say, driving with your shitbox on a mountain track (no asphalt, just gravel) is way more fun. No, I'm speaking completely flat out, in the night and with assists (TCR, ASR and ABS)
As someone who's been trying to do runs up the Pikes Peak dirt course, I agree
