    Absolutely brilliant - we only use ours in the summer due to proximity to the house. We switch the heating on at about 11am and it's all up to temp by 5pm when we jump in. The 2Kw heater uses less electric, however we have solar panels so it heats the water for free using the solar power!🙂

    Great review. Sounds really noisy. Living in a typical UK semi-detached house I'm concerned the neighbours might get annoyed. And no, I wouldn't invite them to join in. Suppose it's best just to give it a go. Prices are coming down.

    Great spa, have had one like this for 4 years now!
    One note, though, ours started to bulge on the sides, and eventually tore and started leaking the second summer.. I thought it was the cat, but tears started to appear all over on the sunny side even after I patched the holes. (Which was a nightmare, nothing sticks to that surface!)
    It seems as if the outside with the 'woven' surface do not stand the sun, even in Norway. It also says so in the manual, 'Do not place in direct sunlight'. So, a hot tub that you can't use in the sun? Well..
    I had 'leftovers' from my old M-Spa, namely the outer canvas covering that fit perfectly! Problem solved, and the replacement tub (got it on warranty after all) is still perfect. To be installed this weekend!
    I recommend getting the model that comes with a separate outer covering!
    Happy tubbing!

    Thanks for the review, very helpful. Is the bottom cushioned at all? or are you sitting on the floor like a normal paddling pool? What is the lowest temperature you can set it at? I was wondering whether I could set it at 22 or 24 to save costs and still be nice in the summer? How long would you say it takes to heat up from 24 to 30 or from 30 to 40 (roughly)? So it won't keep temperature when the power is off? was wondering if you can say, don't let it fall below a certain temperature then during middle of night it stops it dropping? Thanks for your help

    • @ratemygadgets
      @ratemygadgets  3 роки тому +6

      Few questions here. The bottom is cushioned and comfortable. Lowest temperature can set it at is 28degC. You can set to 28degC to save on heating. In my experience takes an hour to raise by 2degC but that is with outer ambient temperature being much lower (least 10degs lower than water in hotttub). It does retain heat with lid on VERY well. On summer evenings, I've left it off at 40DegC at 10pm ish. Next day still about 30degC. Hope helps. Please do subscribe.

Lay z spa themselves are very expensive so I don’t really recommend them at all. If you are based in America the only place to get them is second hand sellers or Walmart, target etc. If you are in uk I highly recommend B & Q there prices are great. Just phone up B and Q and ask if you can get a hot tub brochure may need to ask for manager to get it. Prices may vary from 300 - 400 manager may be able to get you discount.

    I just bought one. I filled up with air and waited to get water treatmemt (chlorine tablets) before filling. Was 3 days without water and mine is out in the open and I did notice with a cool dewy night pressure on the cover and tub dropped a bit (thought a leak). But when the sun comes out and it heats up, the pressure was back up again. I'm in Australia and the sun can be really intense. The car next to the spa I could have a bbq on the bonnet it burns to touch (and hi uv rays). Was a little concerned how it will hold up. I did read someone saying you wouldn't want to fill up with air on a cold night before a hot sunny day. The air really expands in the heat and radiant heat from the sun. Ideally having a verandah would be good. I have just filled with water, so maybe that will stabilise varying pressure with high temperature changes.

    • @ratemygadgets
      @ratemygadgets  3 роки тому +1

      Cheers David. Here in the UK, didn't really consider the risk of inflating in colder temperatures and when heats up would expand. Worth noting though. You would hope that the fabric would allow a decent amount of expansion. The other thing, when the water is in...it provides a pressure on those outside walls so it isn't obvious when you lose pressure. Please do subscribe as really helps.

    Hello. Ive been trying to set a desired water temp so that when it hits 39 it stops and when it drops to 37 starts heating again, I have completely forgotten how to do it. 😩

      We set it up yesterday, 11°C at 6pm. The day after, around 4pm it was at 40°C. Outside temperature fluctuated between 16 (day) and 13 (evening/night)

    How many people it fit in?

      Comfortably 4 adults. At a push, 6 or even 8 adults. Of course, depends on how intimate you want to be ;)
